General Tips
- You will obtain inventory items along the way which will be stored in the lower right corner of the scene.
- Pick up an inventory item and drag it to an area you wish to use it on. If it’s correct, a sparkle will appear. If it’s incorrect, nothing will happen, just place it someplace else.
- Click on the Book in the upper right to read the story.
- Find the LETTER, PEN & CANDELABRA in each level to restore the book’s pages. Sometimes these items may be found in 2 separate scenes in the same chapter.
- When you click randomly in the scene the screen will “crack” for a few seconds and your cursor will be disabled.
- You can click on the Axe in the upper right corner when it is charged to use a hint.
- Find one additional Axe in each scene to recharge the hint immediately.
- If you click on a hint and there is no item to find in that section, the game will tell you to visit another room. You will not lose your hint when this happens.
- You can skip a mini-game once the skip button is full.
- Click on the laptop in the upper right to review the investigation course.
- The Eye Icon appears when a puzzle is present or when you can talk to someone in the scene.
- If you get stuck, make sure you click on the TASK BUTTON in the lower right so you can view your objectives.
- Click on “ESC” to skip through the story at the beginning of each chapter.
Chapters 1 & 2
Mr. Raskolnikov’s House
- Choose the St. Petersburg, 1866 location and click on the button at the bottom of the scene.
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow. You need to find these items throughout the game so you can reveal parts of the pages in the Book.
- The MONEY will already be in your inventory at the beginning of this chapter.
- Click on the DOCUMENT (1) in the lower left corner.
- Pick up the 12 Objects with Red Stripes marked in red.
- Click on the DOCUMENT (2) on the table by the window to trigger a mini-game.
- Hold your mouse down and run your cursor over the page to clean it.
- The BILL OF DEBT enters your inventory.
Chapter 3
Old Woman’s House
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The 10 FOOTPRINTS & FINGERPRINTS are marked in green.
- Click on the door.
- Click on the HOLE (A) on the wall next to the clock in the upper right.
- Pick up the BELL CLAPPER in the lower right.
- Pick up the ROPE on the rack by the door.
- Pick up the HANDBELL by the light in the upper left.
- In this order, place the HANDBELL, BELL CLAPPER & ROPE in the HOLE (A) on the wall next to the clock.
- Click on the DOORBELL and the old lady will appear.
- Give the BILL OF DEBT to the old lady that peeks through the door.
Chapter 4
Old Woman’s Apartment
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The 21 GOLD OBJECTS are marked in green. They can be found in 2 different scenes.
- Open the GLASS CABINETS (A) on the left and pick up the 2 Gold Objects inside.
- Pick up the KEYS from the hips of the old lady by the window.
- Use the KEYS to open the MIDDLE DRAWER (B) on the left; pick up the Gold Object inside.
- Use the KEYS to open the BOTTOM DRAWER (C) on the left; pick up the 2 Gold Objects and the AXE.
- Click on the open door to access the next room.
- Open the CABINET (D) on the lower right and pick up the Gold Object.
- Place the KEYS in the dresser’s BOTTOM DRAWER (E) to unlock it and pick up the 2 Gold Objects.
- Pick up the rest of the GOLD OBJECTS in the room.
- Now you have to put all the items back where they belong by clicking on them.
- Click on all the items marked in white in both rooms.
- Give the MONEY to the old lady after all the items in white have been picked up.
- Go to the other room and click on the small picture above the dresser 2 times to trigger a puzzle.
- Drag the circles around until they look like the image in the screenshot.
- Click on the HANDLE on the left to open the safe.
- Pick up the NOTE at the bottom of the safe.
Chapter 5
Bar
- Click on the BARTENDER to order some food.
- Give the BARTENDER the MONEY from inventory for the list to appear.
- Pick up all the FOOD & UTENSILS marked in white.
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
Bug Puzzle
- This puzzle will appear as soon as you pick up all the items in the scene.
- Drag the pieces into the center of the puzzle area.
- Pieces in the correct spots will lock into place.
- Assemble the bug according to the image in the screenshot.
- Stick the BUG under the table of the men eating on the left.
Chapter 6
Sennaya Square
- Click on the people circled in green in the screenshot to bring up the items on the list.
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The 4 TOYS & 2 MEDICINES are marked in purple.
- The 5 CANDIES are marked in green.
- The 4 COINS are circled in white.
- The 4 SHOE SHINE items are marked in yellow.
- Give the COINS to the MERCHANT (1) by the kiosk and he will give you the WATER BOTTLE.
- Give the WATER BOTTLE to the MAN (2) on the ground next to the kiosk.
- Give the TOYS & MEDICINE to the GIRL (3) with the screen scarf.
- The CANDIES go to the LITTLE BOY (4) by the cart in the lower left.
- Give the SHOE POLISH SET to SHOE SHINE BOY (5) on the far right.
Chapter 7
The Bar
- Please pick up the 14 BOOKS marked in white.
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Pick up all the items on the list.
- You can access the next room by clicking on the doorway on the right.
Chapter 8
The Bar
- Click on the man sitting at the table to trigger the list of items to find.
- Pick up the AXE marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The POOL ITEMS are marked in white.
- The puzzle will automatically appear after all the items have been picked up.
Pool Puzzle
- Your goal is to place the numbers at the bottom of the screen that coincide with the path of their matching ball.
- Click on any 2 numbers at the bottom of the screen to swap their positions.
- From left to right the solution is:7-6-3-2-8-5-1-4
Chapter 9
Restaurant
- Pick up the 17 COINS circled in red.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
Coin Game
- Click on matching pairs of coins to eliminate them off the board.
- Click on a coin to flip it over.
- Correct matches will stay flipped over.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- The ENVELOPE, PAPER, FEATHER & INKWELL are marked in red. A puzzle will appear as soon all the items have been picked up.
- Place the PEN (Feather) into INKWELL.
- Place the PEN on the PAPER for the words to appear.
- Click on the LETTER and place it in the ENVELOPE.
- Place the MONEY in the ENVELOPE.
- Click on the ENVELOPE 2 Times to seal it and place it in inventory.
- Give the ENVELOPE to the WAITER circled in green.
Chapter 10
Fortuneteller’s House
- Give the MONEY to the Fortuneteller to bring up the list of items.
- The 12 TAROT CARDS are marked in green.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The Tarot Card game will appear after all the items have been found.
- Eliminate matching tarot card pairs.
- Click on the cards to flip them over.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- Find the 12 ZODIAC SIGNS marked in green in the screenshot.
- Drag the COINS into their matching zodiac signs on the board.
- The coins will only stick when placed in the right spots.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- Click on the left side of the curtains to open them.
- Pick up the FEATHER marked in yellow.
- Pick up the CRYSTAL BALL on the bottom shelf.
- Give the CRYSTAL BALL to the fortuneteller.
Chapter 11
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- RODION’S BELONGINGS will be added to inventory after all the items have been picked up.
Chapter 12
Fortuneteller’s House
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The 9 HERBS are marked in white.
- Click on the BASKET in the lower left to trigger a puzzle.
- Your goal is to eliminate the matching pairs of flowers.
- The last flower has been marked in white.
- Find all the items on the list.
- The FLASK WITH GREEN REAGENT, the MATCHES, the TUBE and the KNIFE will go into inventory.
- The LANTERN, SCALE and the CUP (BOWL) will end up on the table.
- Place the following items into the CUP (B) on the table:INGREDIENTS RODION’S BELONGINGS KNIFE FLASK TUBE
- The TUBE WITH POWDER goes into your inventory.
- Place the MACTHES on the LANTERN (C) to light it up.
- Place the TUBE WITH POWDER into the right side of the SCALE (A).
- Place the TUBE WITH POWDER on the LANTERN (C).
Chapter 13
Old Woman’s House
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- You have to find the FINGERPRINTS & FOOTPRINTS in the scene.
- Use the STUN GUN in inventory to use on metal objects and the SPRAY for all other objects.
- Find all the items in the next room as well.
- The STUN GUN items are marked in green.
- The SPRAY ITEMS are marked in red.
- Find the pairs of similar images.
- Click on 2 matching images to eliminate them.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
Chapter 14
Broken Carriage
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Click on the device circled in red to trigger a puzzle after all the items have been found.
- Assemble the parts of the Trans-Molecular Space Distorter by dragging the pieces into the correct slots.
- Correct pieces will lock in place.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
Chapter 15
Gangster Courtyard
- Click on the man in the lower right to trigger the object list.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The 20 JEWELS are circled in white.
- A puzzle will appear immediately after all the jewels have been picked up.
- Assemble the Brooch by dragging the jewel pieces into the correct spots.
- Correct pieces will lock in place.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- The BROOCH goes into inventory.
- Give the BROOCH to the man in the scene to end the chapter.
Chapter 16
Mr. Raskolnikov’s Home
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Click on the PANEL marked in green in the lower right corner for a closer look.
- Click on the right side of the panel and you will be asked to find a screwdriver. Exit out of that view by clicking downwards.
- Pick up the SCREWDRIVER marked in blue in the upper left corner.
- Click on the PANEL in the lower right again.
- Place the SCREWDRIVER on the 2 screws on the right panel.
- Click on the LEVERS 1, 2 AND 5.
- Click on the HANDLE on the right to open the panel.
- Click on the STATUE OF FEMIDA inside the panel and you will be asked to find a water bottle. Exit out of that view.
- Pick up the WATER BOTTLE in the lower center and go back to the panel in the lower right.
- Place the WATER BOTTLE on the fire and pick up the STATUE OF FEMIDA and click on it to pick it up.
- Exit out of that view to complete the chapter.
Chapter 17
Old Woman’s House
- Click on the dog.
- Pick up the BONE (1) in the lower left and give it to the DOG.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Click on the PEEPHOLE (2) on the door.
- Pick up the OILCAN (3) on the right.
- Place the OILCAN on the BUCKET OF OIL (4) on the side of the cart.
- Place the FULL OILCAN on the PEEPHOLE and the old man will appear.
- Pick up all the items on the list.
- The WHEEL will go into your inventory.
- Place the WHEEL on the cart on the right.
- Place the FULL OILCAN on the wheel.
- Go through the dialogue and pick up the CANDLE and the MATCHES marked in white. Both items will automatically combine in inventory.
- Place the LIT CANDLE in the doorway.
- Click on the CIGAR CASE in the lower left side of the lit entryway.
Chapter 18
Mr. Porfiry’s House
- The MARKER will be in your inventory at the beginning of the game.
- Click on the WINDOW (A) and a bunch of items will scatter all over the floor.
- Close the window and the list of items will appear.
- The 7 PHOTOS are marked in red.
- Pick the rest of the items marked in green.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Open the desk drawer and pick up the BRUSH inside.
- Place the BRUSH on the INK STAIN on the carpet and a letter will appear on screen.
- Place the MARKER on the spots highlighted in blue to get rid of the evidence.
Chapter 19
Sennaya Square
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Pick up all the items marked in red. As you pick them up the items will appear in the lower center of the scene.
- Click on the Barrel Organ in the lower center to trigger a mini-game. You will be asked to restore it.
- Pick up the 6 COGWHEELS marked in white in the scene.
- Click on the Barrel Organ again.
- Place the COGWHEELS on the screen and they will scatter around the edges.
- Grab the COGS and place them in the puzzle.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- Pick up the MONEY marked in green in the lower center to end the chapter.
Chapter 20
Restaurant
- Give the MONEY to the WAITER and food will appear on the table.
- Click on the NEWSPAPER in the lower right corner.
- Talk to the WAITER.
- Pick up the 20 PAPER SCRAPS circled in red.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The jigsaw puzzle will appear after all the scraps have been picked up.
- Fit the puzzle pieces within the frame.
- Correct pieces will lock into place.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
Chapter 21
Gangster Courtyard
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Click on the left side of the wall to enter a new scene.
- Click on the back wall and you will be asked to find 7 bricks. Exit the scene.
- The 7 BRICKS are marked in green.
- Click on the left side of the wall after all the bricks have been found.
- Place the BRICKS in the spots shown on the screenshot.
- Repeat 3 music sequences.
- Please look at the screenshot and click on the bricks in the order shown to beat the game:1-5-4 6-5-1-4-2 7-6-5-4-3-2-1
- The SAFE appears after the puzzle has been solved.
- Look for the 8 KEYS marked in red in both scenes.
- Go back to the safe after all 8 keys have been picked up.
- Place the KEYS on the safe.
- Click on the BOARD on the left to flip it around.
- Pick up the KNIFE on the ground and place it on the board. Keep clicking the knife on the board until it is all clear.
- Click on the keys on the safe until they are facing the same way as shown on the board. Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- Pick up the PAPER inside the safe.
Chapter 22
Investigator’s Office
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- Click on the DRAWER (1) below the bookcase.
- Pick up the KEY in the lower right and place it on the DRAWER (1) below the bookcase.
- Click on the open drawer to trigger a puzzle.
- Drag the circles around to form the correct image.
- Please look at the screenshot for the solution.
- Click on the HANDLE on the left to open the safe.
- Pick up the DOCUMENT inside the safe.
- Go back to the office and look for the items on the list.
- The 4 COINS are circled in red.
- The 5 FINGERPRINTS are marked in green. Everything else is marked in white.
Chapter 23
Judge’s Office
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- The LETTER, CANDELABRA and FEATHER are marked in yellow.
- The OBJECTS FROM THE FUTURE are marked in white.
- Click on the DOOR to trigger a puzzle after all the items have been picked up.
- Click on the CHANDELIER on the upper left to bring up the panel.
- Click on the right combination of buttons on the left to open the door.
- Click on the buttons marked in white in the screenshot.
Dr. Corbin’s Office
- You do NOT have to find the LETTER, CANDELABRA & FEATHER in this scene.
- Click on the COMPUTER in the lower left and it will show you a time of 11:20.
- Click on the CLOCK in the upper left for a closer look.
- Change the time on the clock to 11:20.
- Click on the Notebook Computer marked in white on the desk to trigger a puzzle.
- Your goal is to move the red chips to the left and the white chips to the right.
- Chips can only jump over an empty space.
- The chips can move left or right.
- Please watch the video for a step-by-step solution for this puzzle.
- Find all the items on the list.
- Pick up the KEYCARD on the right side of the counter.
- Place the KEYCARD on the left door to open it.
- Pick up the POISON on the shelf of the open door.
Chapter 24
Siberia, Russia
- The FEATHER is marked in yellow.
- The AXE is marked in purple.
- Pick up the SPADE marked in green and place it on the snowdrift in the lower right to make the bucket of fish appear.
- Pick up the FISH in the bucket next to the snowdrift.
- Pick up the EMPTY BUCKET in the lower left.
- Place the EMPTY BUCKET at the end of the pole on the right.
- Click on the pole 2 times to lower and lift the bucket. The BUCKET FULL OF WATER will enter inventory.
- Pick up the HONEY below the window.
- Give the FISH, the BUCKET FULL OF WATER and the HONEY to the BEAR.
- Click on the door to enter.
- The LETTER and the CANDELABRA are marked in yellow.
- The rest of the items are marked in white and red in both scenes.
Two Hours Later
- Find all the items on the list marked in white.
- Pick up the BALALAIKA marked in green in the lower right corner and give it to the man at the table.
- Congratulations! You’ve Completed Crime and Punishment: Who Framed Raskolnikov?
