General Tips & Information

• This game starts with a brief tutorial.
• Make sure to chose “Continue” when you are returning to a game in progress.
• This game may be played in windowed or full screen mode.
• There is no timer in this game.
• Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the meter to recharge.
• Click on the hint button to find an object.
• The hidden objects are randomized, so your solution may vary.
• To access the main menu, click on the gear button.
• If you exit the game without completing a screen, you will have to re-play that screen.
• When you are trying to escape a room, move your cursor around and look for question marks.
• Clicking on question marks will tell you what items you may need to find.

• Click on the backpack to see the special items Helene has collected.
• You cannot take or use any of these items manually.
• These items are made available if the scene calls for that item.

The Trunk

• You have been abducted and are locked in the trunk of a car.
• Find the lighter so you can take a look around.

• Click on the lock to discover you need a screw to tighten it up.
• Take the screw from the left area and it will go into your inventory at the bottom.
• Use the screw on the lock.

• Click on the lock again to find you need another screw.
• Take the screw from the right area and it will go into your inventory at the bottom.
• Use the screw on the lock.

• Click on the lock again to find you need twine.
• Locate the twine and it will go into your inventory at the bottom.
• Use the twine on the lock.
• Click on the lock again to find you need a handle.
• Locate the handle and it will go into your inventory at the bottom.
• Use the handle on the lock.
• Click on the handle to open the trunk.

The Garage

• Your captor taunts you.
• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on the car window.
• Take the crowbar and use it on the window.

• Click on the broken glass until it is completely removed from the window.

The Car

• Click on the window to enter the car.
• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on the nails in the glove-box, then find the nail puller.
• Use the nail puller on each of the four nails.
• Click on the glove-box latch, then find the car keys.
• Use the car keys to unlock the glove-box and try to take the registration.

• Click on the radio to discover it is missing a knob.
• Locate the knob and use it on the radio.
• Take the registration from the glove-box.
• You put the registration and car keys into your backpack.
• Click on the “X” in the upper right corner to close the backpack.

Return to the Garage

• Click on the steps and the railing.
• Locate the railing and the plank.
• Place the plank on the stairs.
• Place the railing on the stairs.
• Use the door at the top of the stairs to exit the garage.

Observation Room

• Locate the hidden objects on the list.

• Click on the broken glass on the floor.
• Place each glass shard onto the cardboard.

• Click on the doorknob twice.
• Take the locket and it will go into your backpack.
• Find the doorknob and use it on the door.
• Click on the doorknob to learn you still need a key.
• Take the key and unlock the door.
• Click on the doorknob to exit the room.
• The photo in the locket looks like you. Is the other person your mother?
• Exit the backpack.

The Dressing Room

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on the mannequin where is it missing two arms and two legs.
• Find and replace the mannequin's arms and legs.

• Click on the torso and head of the mannequin.
• Take the red dress and the black wig.
• Place the black wig and the red dress on the mannequin.
• Click on the face of the mannequin.
• Find the lipstick and use it on the mannequin's face.

• A drawer has unlocked and opened.
• Take the license from the drawer.
• The license looks like you.
• Your name is Helene.

The Mail Room

• The lights are off.
• Find the light switch in the upper center of the screen.
• Locate the hidden objects on the list.

• Click on the left mail tube to discover you need a valve wheel.
• Place the wheel on the tube to open the mail tube chambers.
• Find the three mail tubes.
• Place each mail tube into the colored tube door that matches the stripe on the mail tube.

The Cellar

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• You need to short out the sparking wires that are blocking the door.
• Look at the bucket of water.
• Take the toaster and place it into the bucket.
• Select the wall socket and learn you need an extension cord.
• Take the extension cord and use it on the wall.

• The power shorts out and the lights go off.
• Take the night-vision goggles and use them on the darkness.
• Click on the door to learn you need a doorknob.
• Take the doorknob from the lower right and use it on the door.

The Generator Room

• Find the hidden objects on the list using the night-vision goggles.

• To restart the generator, you have to find and replace five items.
• Click on the slot for the air filter.
• Locate the air filter and insert into the slot.
• Click in front of the air filter where the fan should be located.
• Find the fan and place it into the hole.
• Just to the right of the fan you can see part of a pulley wheel.
• Click on the wheel, then find and replace the fan belt.
• Select the opening for the fuel tank near the center of the screen.
• Take the fuel can and fill the tank.
• Click on the ignition near the large grate.
• Take the key from the lower right and place it in the ignition.
• Click on the key to start the generator.

• Click on the large grate.
• Find the wrench and use it to open the grate.
• Enter the open grate to escape the room.

The Boiler Room

• Find the hidden objects on the list.

• Click on the three locations that need parts on the boiler, then the log.
• Find the axe and chop the log.
• Place the split log in the boiler.
• Close the boiler door.
• The steam valve goes on the left side of the boiler near the door.
• Place the valve wheel on the pipe.
• Turn the valve wheel.

The Infirmary

• Find the hidden objects on the list.

• Click on the small shelf below Helene's picture on the right.
• Find the heart monitor in the cabinet on the left and place it on the small shelf.
• Click the the right and left hooks of the IV stand.
• Take the IV bag from the locker and hang it on the left hook.
• Find the blood pack in the drawer and hang in on the right hook.
• Select the lower right corner of the x-ray machine to learn you need a cord.
• Take the cord from the bed and plug in the x-ray reader.
• Click on the lighted x-ray reader.
• Take the x-ray off the counter and place in on the x-ray reader.
• Look at the teddy bear on the bed.
• Find and use the scalpel on the teddy bear.
• Take the light bulb from inside the bear.
• Take the x-ray with you.

The Media Room

• Locate the hidden objects on the list.

• Look at the bottom right of the TV to learn you need a VCR cable.
• Find the cable and connect the TV and VCR.
• Click on the VCR and find it needs a tape.
• Locate the VCR tape and insert the tape into the machine.
• Look at the TV controls to discover it is missing a knob.
• Locate the knob and replace it on the TV.
• Look at the VCR – you need the remote.
• Collect the VCR remote. It needs batteries.
• Take the batteries and place them into the remote.
• Use the remote on the VCR.
• The tape is of you pleading for help.

The Bathroom

• Locate the hidden objects on the list.

• Look at the fire then the sink faucet.
• Take the bottle.
• Look at the water pipe.
• Take the valve and place it on the water pipe.
• Look at the sink faucets.
• Take the knob and place it on the faucet.
• Look at the sink faucet again.
• Look at the toilet to zoom in for a close-up.
• Try to take the faucet knob but its nasty.
• Exit the close-up and find the plunger.
• Return to the toilet and use the plunger.
• Pull the chain to flush the toilet.
• Take the faucet knob and exit the toilet area.
• Place the knob on the faucet.
• Use the bottle on the faucet.
• Pour the water on the fire and take the prescription pill bottle.

• Close the backpack.

Back in the Garage

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the car door and the tire.
• Take the jack and use it on the tire.
• Look at the tire again.
• Find the tire iron and remove the tire.
• Take the door handle and use it on the car door.

• Open the car door and the claw hammer will go to the bottom inventory.
• Look at the holes in the upper level walkway.
• Collect three planks and place them in the holes.
• Look at the boarded up door.
• Use the claw hammer on the boards.

The Stairwell

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on any of the three wall bracket locations for the railing.
• Find the three wall brackets and place them on the wall.
• Click on the brackets to learn you need screws.
• Take the screws and use on the brackets.
• Look at the bracket and discover you are ready for the railing.
• Take the railing and use it on the brackets.
• The stairway is dark so look for a light.
• Find the light bulb and use it on the socket.

The Landing

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the barbed wire to learn you need wire cutters.
• Look at the locks on the green toolbox.
• Take the sledgehammer and use on both of the locks on the toolbox.
• Open the toolbox.
• Take the wire cutters, but they need oiling.
• Look at the can of lubricant on the ladder, but it is too far.
• Take the reaching tool and grab the can of lubricant.
• Take the reaching tool and grab the spray straw from the ladder.
• Combine the can of lubricant and the spray straw.
• Use the lubricant on the wire cutters, but they are still not sharp.
• Take the whetstone from the took box and use it with the wire cutters.
• Use the wire cutters on the barbed wire.

• Cut the barbed wire in the five spots it is flashing.

• Click on the double doors to open.
• Escape through the doors.

The Locker Room

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the door but it is locked.
• Look at the far right lockers.
• Look at the coat hangar on the far wall.
• Take the coveralls and hang them on the hangar.
• Try to take the paper out of the pocket.
• Take the lighter and burn the paper in the pocket to get the metal tag.
• Use the metal tag on the locker.
• Take the key from the top hook inside the locker.
• Take the photo from the shirt pocket.
• Use the key on the door to escape the room.
• Its a picture of you and someone else, but it is too dirty to make out.
• Exit the backpack.

The Showers

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on where the shower head and faucets should be located.
• Take the faucets from the mannequin and place the on the taps.
• Replace the shower head.
• Turn on the water.
• Look at the clothesline near the shower head.
• Find the clothespin and use it on the clothesline.
• Hang the photo from the clothespin.
• Try to wash the photo but you need soap.
• Take the bar of soap and wash the photo.
• The photo is of you and an older man, possible your father.
• Exit the backpack.

The Cafeteria Entrance

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Click on the cut power wires on the left.
• Find the tape and repair the wires.
• Look at the right fluorescent lamp.
• Find the two fluorescent bulbs and place them in the light.
• Look at the empty square to the right of the cafeteria doors.
• Take the card reader and place it on the empty square.
• Look at the card reader to discover you need a cards.
• Take the access card and use it on the card reader.
• Click on the double doors to escape the room.

The Cafeteria

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Take the distributor cap from the engine.
• Look at the chain on the ceiling.
• Find the pulley and use it on the chain.
• Look at the beam on the far right wall.
• Locate the winch and use it on the beam.
• Look at the engine.
• Take the winch cable and attach it to the engine.
• Click on the winch to raise the engine.
• Click on the doors to escape the room.
• Close the backpack.

The Kitchen

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the freezer door.
• Look at the cabinet door with the handcuffs.
• Look at the sink.
• Find the unclogger and pour it into the sink.
• Look at the drained sink.
• Find and place the strainer into the sink.
• Look at the strainer.
• Take the fat reservoir and pour it into the strainer.
• Take the handcuff key and use it on the cabinet.
• Open the cabinet and take the handle.
• Place the handle on the freezer door.
• Open the freezer door and escape the room.

The Freezer

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the outlet on the left wall.
• Find the space heater and plug it in to the outlet.
• The heater will automatically hang from the right meat-hook.
• Look at the melting block of ice just below the heater.
• Take the ice pick and use it on the ice then take the cell phone.
• Look at the rope on the chest freezer's handles.
• Take and use the butcher knife on the rope.
• Open the chest freezer.
• Take the cell phone battery.
• Combine the cellphone and battery to find you have no signal.

The Storeroom

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the plank-covered doors.
• Take the jigsaw from the upper left.
• Find the jigsaw blade and battery.
• Combine the jigsaw, blade and battery.
• Use the jigsaw to cut the planks on both doors.
• Look at the cardboard box.
• Locate the utility knife and cut open the box.
• Take the car light bulbs.
• Escape the room through the right doorway.

The Laundry Room

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Open the bottom center washing machine and look inside.
• Find the dirty jacket and place it into the washing machine.
• Look at the machine again to find you need soap.
• Locate the soap and use it on the washing machine.
• Close the washing machine door and look at the controls.
• Collect eight quarters strewn throughout the scene.
• Use four quarters to run the washing machine.
• Open the machine and get the wet jacket.
• Open the upper left dryer.
• Place the wet jacket into the dryer.
• Close the door and use four quarters on the controls.
• Try to take the jacket.
• Locate the scissors and use them to cut a logo from the jacket for evidence.
• Exit the backpack.

The Break-Room

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the spilled red paint.
• Look at the padlock on the locker.
• Find the bolt cutters and cut open the padlock.
• Open the locker door.
• The mop will automatically go into your inventory.
• Use the mop on the red paint to find the keys.
• Look at the padlock on the cabinet.
• Use the keys on the cabinet and find the gun.

The Greenhouse

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the fire.
• Look at the fire extinguishers in the car.
• Find the crowbar and break the car windows.
• Collect eight fire extinguishers from the room and car.
• Use all eight fire extinguishers on the fire.
• Look at the crate on top of the car.
• Use the crowbar to open the crate.
• Take the starter.
• Look at the door.
• Find and use the key card.
• Escape the room.

The Elevator

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the telephone call box.
• Use the keys to open the phone box.
• Look inside to find the receiver is missing.
• Locate and replace the receiver.
• Try to use the phone, but its dead.
• Take the car battery.
• Try to close the elevator doors, but the button is missing.
• Find the button and repair the controls.
• Push the red button to close the elevator doors.
• Push the 1st floor button to escape.

The Office

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the telephone.
• Find the receiver and replace it on the phone, but is dead.
• Look at the door to find it locked.
• Look at the vase.
• Find the wrench and break the vase to get the keys.
• Look at the map.
• Use the wrench to break the glass and take the map.
• Use the keys to unlock the door.
• Open the door and escape the room.

The Doctor's Office

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Try the door, but you should look at the box first.
• Look at the taps on the water dispenser.
• Find the blue tap on the desk and place it in the dispenser.
• Find the red tap on the cash register and return it to the dispenser.
• Click on the taps to find you need a bottle.
• Look at the top of the dispenser.
• Locate the water jug and place it on the dispenser.
• Take the water bottle from the desk and fill it with water.
• Look at the cardboard box on the desk.
• Take the box cutters and open the box.
• Take the tire pump.
• Open the door and escape the room.

The Garage Office

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the upper center wall. There is a message hidden there.
• Look at the boarded up door.
• Take the hammer and remove the boards.
• Look at the door to find you need keys.
• Take the keys.
• Look at the briefcase on the desk.
• Find the chisel and use it to open the briefcase.
• The knife will automatically go into your inventory.
• Look at the cardboard box.
• Take the knife and open the box.
• Look at the dark right light.
• Take the light bulb from the box and use it in the dark light.

• Take the UV lamp and use it to read the wall.
• Take the bullets from the table.
• Use the keys on the door to escape the room.

Escape the Garage

• Locate the hidden objects from the list.

• Look at the top of the center pole to find the lift controls.
• Find the air hose and attach it to the controls.
• Click on the controls to lift the car.

• Click on the wheels of the car.
• Find and replace the two tires.
• Look at the tires and discover we need to locate nuts.
• Locate the ten lug nuts and place five on each tire.
• Close the backpack.

• You have escaped the garage into the desert!
• Did you get enough gas?
