Well, I think that's the wrong game, but this one's just as fun! There are 10 murder Cases to solve in this fantastic whodunit Mosaic Griddler game. You will uncover evidence to find out the Murder Victim's Name, Age, Cause of Death, the Murder Weapon used, the Killer's Gender, Name and finally the Killer's Motive.
Most of the puzzles have 3 different colors (some only have 2) you can switch back and forth between colors which can help you if you get stuck. You can choose Casual which crosses off the numbers one by one, or Advanced which crosses off numbers when the entire column or row is complete. You are allowed up to 4 mistakes, and there is a Hint feature that has to recharge before being used again.
There has never been a game quite like this before which adds the excitement of figuring out whodunit, detective style! My only complaint is that some of the puzzles have colors that are so close to the same shade that it's difficult to tell them apart which can lead to mistakes being made if you're not careful. If you're a Mosaic, Griddler fan, or a fan of detective solving crimes, this game will knock your socks off, enjoy! Show less

As always, I love the ability to jump from color to color. I found the puzzles somewhat easy, since the color shift always gives you a new starting point. I never had to use one of my hints, and I played the Expert level.
However, the grids do get larger and more complex so you really have to use the colors to your advantage.
This is a great game to download for a plane flight or a summer trip. It's not too intensive so you can go and concentrate on your game of tennis or packing a beach bag. However, I found it really fun and absorbing as well - the perfect combo for a light game / vacation getaway combo.
The graphics aren't wonderful (as you can see from the illustrations) but don't let that stop you. The grids themselves are great, and the added colors give an extra dimension to the usual squared-off images. Show less

I've played just about every mosaic/griddler game out there. The Hidden Clues series is one of the best. This game has 10 mysteries to solve, and 12 puzzles in each mystery (120 levels). Solving each mosaic puzzle leads you to clues about the victim, the cause of death, the weapon, the killer, and the motive. As you discover each clue, a detective or coroner confirms your findings with written dialogue. Besides the intriguing mystery aspect, the mosaic puzzle is designed well visually so as not to be confusing. If you've played other mosaic puzzles, you'll know how important that is. I've bought the entire Hidden Clues series and have played each more than once. I only have two quibbles with the games: the purple push pins to mark unused squares (I find the purple color distracting), and the mosaic patterns themselves are sometimes vague, making it hard to figure out what the design actually is. Fortunately, one of the detectives steps in to clue you in. Well worth trying. Show less

I gave an "excellent" to visual/sound quality not because of how the characters were handled (old-fashioned, much?) but because of the way the puzzles are done. There is no confusion about whether a space is full, empty, or "I dunno yet." After some puzzles I've done, I'm very happy with that!
Being a fan of both fictional and real mysteries, I have to say they're pretty pathetic in this game. But that's just fine with me. I can live with it, for the pleasure of the puzzles.
Now, excuse me, I have to put a candlestick in the library, so the good Colonel can see to write letters.... Show less

I love crosspic games - there is something strangely fascinating when completing a grid by logic seems impossible but step by step it suddenly unravels and there's the picture - it really seems a little bit magic! I love crosspic games - there is something strangely fascinating when completing a grid by logic seems impossible but step by step it suddenly unravels and there's the picture - it really seems a little bit magic! It's the same type of thing as a sudoku and I first enjoyed an online version in a Japanese Nancy Drew game (Shadow at the Water's edge).
Hidden Clues 2 Miami is a welcome edition to the fold (I haven't played Hidden Clues 1, so I'm going to hunt that down.) What I enjoyed - very crisp clear colours, so visually pleasing and no eye strain. Where you mark a filled square with a lovely candy colour, you mark an empty square with a push-pin, you can't get clearer or less confusing. This is a multiple colour picture in the grid, so you have two or three patterns to switch between, which really helps clue wise.
I liked the soundtrack, a mix of a few tunes which sounded part fairground and part movie soundtrack to me. I loved the sound when you marked the squares, really xylophone stylee.
Instructions were clear, with an easy and advanced level. You play against a timer. I played advanced, so the number clues weren't crossed out until you completed the whole of a line plus you garnered hints incrementally.
You are finding 'clues' to solve a murder, the whole set up and characters are nice but when I'd completed the first case I was a bit disappointed that all that happened was that you started on case 2. It doesn't make it any worse as a game, but I just thought that there was more than doing griddlers from the packaging.
I completed the first case to do a review, so I haven't completed the whole game. The level of challenge wasn't tough on the first case, but I've played a gazillion griddlers and you do get a feel for them. The completed grids aren't the amazing mosaics that you get in some games, but that also is a difference rather than a bad thing.
All in all, clear, lovely, fun - easy to use and really pleasant way of doing griddlers from fans of the game and for people who may be trying them out for the first time. Show less

As with most griddlers, this one starts out easy and gets increasingly harder. The storyline ties the solution of crimes with the successful completion of the grids. Each crime has several grids to complete before the crime is solved. Each crime must be solved before you can move on to the next crime.
There are two modes of play, casual and advanced. This option controls two things; how the blank squares are filled in when all the other squares are completed correctly, and how the hints are recharged. I played the Advanced mode and the hints were recharged based on my correctly filling in the squares and blank squares in a row or column were filled in once all the filled in squares were completed.
Each grid uses three different colors for the squares. This makes the graphics and the completed grid much more interesting. Being able to switch among the colors during play makes it easier to solve the puzzle.
All grids in the crime must be completed, thus solving the crime, before you can move to the next crime and set of grids. A specific number of mistakes are allowed for each grid. Exceeding that allowed number requires you to restart the grid.
I find this format a lot more enjoyable than having to make no mistakes in order to receive a gold star. And solving a crime is much more rewarding than getting a star--nightmares from kindergarten.
Hints are available and the mode of play determines how the hints are recharged, either through time or by the accuracy of clicking on the squares. I played the harder mode of having the hints recharge based on accurately filling in the squares. It seemed to me that I accumulated more hints this way than through the passage of time method. Before I knew it, I had 8 hints available for use.
I will purchase this game and will enjoy playing it over a long period of time. Show less

I really enjoy a good mosaic/grid type of game. My major complaint would be that the grid pictures once completed are as clear as mud. Pretty much unable to tell what the picture is supposed to be. Whether it is because some of the colors are so close in shade or just poor renditions of objects I don't know, or just may be both. It is still fun to fill in the grid and try to solve the puzzle. My recommendation is that you try the demo first before purchasing, I did not and that was my first mistake, If I had I might not have bought the game. Show less

For me this is a definite no buy for several reasons. First I found the colors are too close to differentiate between them. Then there were the thumb tacks which are very large. I found these to be very distracting rather than helpful. Because the colors are so closely related the pictures just were not there. All I saw was a mish mash of colors. The breaking point for me as a no buy was that when you put the cursor on a tile and went across to count the number of tiles it only counted the tiles not colored in yet. For me this would cause a lot of mistakes as once a section gets Xed out to come across I always start at the first colored tile and come across and yes, I have been spoilt by Fantasy Mosaics which counts all the tiles for you! I did like the concept of a murder mystery but just could not stick with the game because of the reasons listed above. As always, try the demo for yourself you may enjoy the game! Show less
