This is offering No 3. in this series. The first was jam packed with goodies often hard to see. The second just plain hard and a little dreary. They seemed to have gotten the balance right in this one.

There is much to do!! Just because its not jumbled with goodies, does not mean its easy. After a few levels you get to pick your 'hero's as before..but you can top your bonuses up by buying extra boosts with the gold you earn on your way..or on the levels called 'heists' just there to get gold.
There are two modes of play..relaxed and normal. The good news is that you can toggle if playing in timed you can switch to relax and still get your stars..and then toggle back again to pit yourself against the next level. Strategy is important and often your first run through will show you a better way. Or with this feature..you can choose to do it untimed first to find your way ...and then tackle it!
There are 3 hidden objects in each scene..and they are quite hard to find...for this I did need the strategy guide a couple of times to find them..but again, good news, you can just go back and get them and leave. They show on your map if you missed one.
Gisborne is here firing his catapult..and capturing your hero's in a bind. So if you haven't managed to get robin to shoot him in time..you must get your tied up worker out before you are left with no-one active. (or hope your bonus is more workers)
It's not top of my list for TM's, but I am really enjoying this one much more than the last. Can't really find fault with it other than the characters can be a bit goofy, but they have got a little more warmth back in to this one again. Very busy..bright graphics and smooth play. Enjoy! Show less

fromUntil the 16th century, Robin was placed in many different periods from Richard I to Edward III. In the 16th century,  the original outlaw band only consisted of: Little John, Will Scarlet & Much the Miller’s Son.

I loved the first Robin Hood and the second one was good but it was crazy-difficult to earn all 3-stars. Robin Hood: Hail to the King has me teetering on the fence, there are so many bells and whistles that it kind of takes away from the Time Management aspect because there are so many Bonuses. It's kind of like how they are creating Match 3 games with mobile app type bonuses that practically plays the game for you because of the constantly exploding bombs on the board that you are forced to use, if that makes sense?
You can play in an Easy, or Normal Mode and each level has 3 Hidden Objects, that aren't so hidden. Well, some of them are partially hidden but they are so large that's they are hard to miss! Each level has different objects but you can click on the Ribbon Tab on the level map to see what objects are hidden on each level. There are 12 Bows, 12 Clubs, 12 Potion Bottles, 12 Hats, 12 Necklaces, 12 Tags (?) 12 Slingshots, 12 Swords, and 33 Gems in total.
There are the usual Time Management tasks of Clearing Paths of weeds, Wooden Logs, Boulders, etc. You will harvest Berry Bushes, Apple Trees, Walnut Trees, and gather random food caches, and go fishing, as well as repair Rope Buildings, Sawmills, Farms, Bridges, and Ladders. You can even sheer the sheep, and of course, Robin Hood and his merry men steal Gold from the Rich to Give to the Poor, and you will have to set traps to deter the King's Guards because they don't just hand over their booty.
Here's where it gets complicated. There is a Noble Cause Meter that rewards you with Permanent Bonuses for each tier whenever you help the Pheasants. They will increase the hero's speed, increase the worker's speed, increase production speed or increase the hero worker's speed. You can increase the percentages with the gold earned playing the levels. You can drag and drop 2 "team" characters with various abilities to the icon tab before the start of each level. The characters have different effects on the "team" such as making everyone work faster, summon their will, or increase Noble Cause points. These can be upgraded 5 times each. It was confusing, somewhat annoying, and made the game seem more like a mobile app than a hardcore strategy game.
This Collector's Edition has 6 Skins, 5 Music Soundtracks, 12 Bows, 12 Clubs, 12 Potion Bottles, 12 Hats, 12 Necklaces, 12 Tags (?) 12 Slingshots, 12 Swords, and 33 Gems (3 Hidden Objects per level) 32 Main Levels, 11 Bonus Levels, and 12 Heist Levels where you can play to earn Gold. I'd love for you to join us on my new forum at thewoodsforum.boards.net :) Show less

Don't let me put you off it is still a good game however after about the first twenty or so levels it for me became very bogged down and started in a couple of levels to be a real chore where you have to constantly remove a couple of guards as they keep coming back and seemed to come back a lot quicker the further you got in to the game.
It is a good job you can toggle between the 2 modes in order to get your 3 stars as towards the end I just could not get anywhere near 3 stars but then I am a bit of a slow coach.
Hardened TM fans will likely love this challenge.
Loved the new Hoist levels where you can gain more gold to boost up your bonuses however I never seemed to use a couple of them as they seemed a bit pointless but still a good asset to have.
Be aware that in this game Robin is sometimes needed to collect items and shoot Gisborne so just look out for that and shoot Gisborne before you pick anything up. In the previous game he just shot Gisborne when he was around.
Once you have got used to that you will be fine .
Re is this CE worthy I would say maybe as I needed the guide to find the hidden items as they are well hidden.
32 standard levels
11 bonus levels
12 heist levels
So it is not over generous with extra levels and 3 of the heist levels are in the bonus section so it looks as if you get 14 extra levels with the CE.
I am glad I bought the CE but it is entirely a personal thing which one you wish to go for.
Try the demo and see what you think. I deducted a star for being a bit too much of a chore in the later levels but that is just my opinion and it is still a good game. Show less

You have the same characters as in the previous version with their various bonus abilities of speed, resource replenish, building speed, etc. But in this game version you earn money to buy more time for the various bonus abilities with side gold earning levels. You also, on the easter eggs, have 3x the 'items' to find. Once found you don't have to refind on a replay. On completion of the main levels you have 11 bonus levels.
The guide is sketchy but good for locating hidden items it you tired of the searching.
You have 3 very hard levels to complete in the timed mode. I finished all levels, some with effort of trial, error and using the guide. So I won all awards. Enjoyable, challenging game. Show less

not a real ejoyment, but acceptable to pass the time. cannot even compare to 'royal envoy' or 'beyond the kingdom' and more... the time constraints are a little bit too tight. graphics - ok, little bit too child oriented

I don't wan to pick and choose characters. Next try and figure out where the resources are going to come from and worse of all the icons are so small half the time I cannot even see what I need to buy or upgrade abuilding. All the while trying to shoot arrows at the Sheriff. All in all not a fun game to me. I love TM games and mostly buy only the TM Games. I don't mind if it is difficult and I have to play a level several times but in this game I just find the whole thing tedious. Show less
