Lucia's brother Ulf has always taken care of her since their parents passed away, but now her world has been turned upsidedown. Yesterday she learned that he is a werewolf and today, he has been hunted down by powerful witches she never knew existed. Lucia has always had her big brother to take care of her, but today, she must embark on a dangerous journey through enchanted forests, bewitched caves, and treacherous towns. Lucia must gather her inner strength to overcome the sorcery and reverse the ritual that has stolen her brother's life!

Morphing Objects/Collectibles (CE version only)
No other developer beats the CE bling the Five-BN games offers, they are always well-worth the extra price! Not only are there several Collectible's (53 total) there are several different types, Medallions, Flowers, Figurines, Tarot Cards, and Goblets. When you complete a category, you will earn an achievement and unlock a new Puzzle in the CE Extra's Section.

There are also 10 Historical Manuscripts and when that collection is complete, you will earn an achievement and unlock an extra Mini-Game with several Levels!

We're not done yet, folks! There are 30 Morphing Objects, one in each scene, and when the collection is complete you will earn an achievement as well a unlock a new Bonus Game in the CE Extras too! No other developer gives us this much CE bling!

Hidden Object Scenes:
There are only 15 Hidden Object Scenes +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter, but don't let that deter you because these are some of the most interactive and lengthy, whole-room scene HO's you'll ever see, unless of course, you play other games by this developer. There are basically 4 different variations, Progressive-Interactive List, Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shapes, Progressive-Interactive Multiples, and Progressive-Finding & Replacing. The interactions are multi-layered and do require a lot of thought processes because the interactions are not your typical cookie-cutter interactions. You will always be required to figure out how to open boxes, find hidden caches, etc. and everything requires multiple tasks or progressions. Did I mention how talented this team is? My only suggestion to them would be to offer an alternative game for players who may find these too frustrating, or perhaps a skip button feature?

Mini-Games:
Put on your thinking caps to solve 50 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These aren't impossible puzzles, but they will require a little bit of thought and a little bit of patience. These aren't the kind of games that can be solved in one or two moves, and certainly not by luck of the draw. Did I mention how incredibly talented this team is? Even the Hidden Object Scenes are more like puzzles AND they have mini-games within them! My only complaint is that they tend to have horribly confusing instructions simply because of the way they try to draw out the explanation, such as, "in order to achieve the goal a parameter needs to be established around the elements by... doesn't make sense, it's drawn out and complicated...get to the point Five-BN lol

Bonus Chapter: (CE version only)
Everything happens for a reason and everything is interconnected as you play as the young orphan boy Lucia helped in the main game and learn why he really got himself in such a bind. This is a lengthy chapter spanning over 13 scene locations with 8 Mini-Games and 3 more of those maddening Progressive-Interactive Hidden Object Scenes. Although there are no more Morphing Objects or Historical Manuscripts remaining, a brand new Collectible becomes available, so you'll search for 13 Goblets, and of course, it will unlock another Bonus Game in the CE extra's Menu as well as award you with a new Achievement!

Collector's Edition Extra's:
10 amazing Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 14 Video Cutscenes, 14 Replayable Mini-Games, 5 Puzzles +Bonus Puzzles (you must complete Each of the Collections Categories to unlock a new Bonus Puzzle for each collection completed!) 53 Collectibles (8 Medallions-7 Flowers-8 Figurines-7 Tarot Cards-13 Goblets (in the Bonus Chapter) 10 Magical Creatures Manuscripts (Completing the Manuscripts Collections will unlock an extra Mini-Game with many levels in the extra's menu) 30 Morphing Objects (Completing the Morphing Objects Collections will unlock a Bonus Game) 4 very long Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide. There are others whom can describe the ins and outs far better than me but I will give my opinion on how I feel.

I must admit I am enjoying a lot of hopa games and this is no exception.

A lot of thought has gone in to this game , you can set this to as difficult or as easy as you like using the custom setting. The graphics are awesome and I am enjoying the story.

There are more puzzles than Hogs which I know will not suit everyone but I can't help it I just love puzzles. The Hog games so far are very inventive and even incorporates some puzzles inside a Hog game at times.
I finished the demo with 26 mins to spare so you have got time to take in the story without skipping.

I am not a great fan of wallpapers and art but there is a very comprehensive strategy guide,

I was not prepared to wait for the SE as I just had to carry on after the demo. Hopefully you will enjoy this as I know I will,

Lucia and her brother are cleaning up their tavern/public house late at night. It is in the middle of nowhere and Lucia takes a moment to give her brother a birthday present. There are loud sounds of arrival outside. The door bursts open and a woman and her three henchmen rush in, determined to grab Ulf. Lucia has hidden behind the bar on her brother's order and Ulf faces the intruders. As they charge him, he turns into a werewolf, much to Lucia's surprise. After everyone else has gone, Lucia follows on their horse. Her adventure has started.

Good stuff: The variety of puzzles and HOPs was good and most were not too easy. There were lots of very layered landscapes and a good variety of collectibles in addition to morphing objects. Characters were engaging and VO's were well done and appropriate to their subjects. The music was mostly a haunting pipe, which may eventually get on my nerves, but during the Demo, I really liked it.

Bad stuff: Some one was overly eager to write some of the dialogue and so sent players to the barn for a ladder when it was in the shed. And Lucia used a rope ladder to get into an attic space - that only works if you are able to reach above the ladder to hook it in place. A bar/tavern in the middle of nowhere was odd. But that's all I've got!

Bottom line: I'm enthusiastic. Finally. After weeks of sad games, I intend to really enjoy this one!
Please try the demo. I hope you see what I did! Show less

Legendary Tales Stolen Life is, I hope, the first game in a new series one of my favorite developers – Five – BN Games. Stolen Life is an incredible game and is most likely one of the best this year. This developer’s games are few and far between and that is because each new game they release is top quality. The CE version of this game is chock full of extras that no other developer takes the time to add to their CEs now. At one time when we purchased CE games we knew we were getting a lot of extra bling for our gaming dollars but that is no longer the case, well except with Five – BN Games.

I’m not going to take the time to write a lengthy review. There are other reviewers who will provide all the details of the game if you want that information. I think gaming is more fun, at least for me, when I don’t know all the details before I begin playing.

By now most of you who read my reviews know that I am not a fan of having too many puzzles in HOPA games BUT, wait for it . . . I love the puzzles in Stolen Life. Most of the puzzles are the type I enjoy playing because I need to use my brain rather than those where I must duke it out with an opponent or avoid obstacles on a race downstream. The hidden object scenes are great because they are so interactive. I think that I have probably used the hint button more today while playing some of these HOS than I have in the past year. The scenes are creative and take a long time to complete, at least for me, because I was not always sure where to find the items I needed. I very much enjoy playing a HOPA game when I get to use my brain and not only my mouse.

When I say that this is probably one of the best HOPA games I have played all year, I mean it. Legendary Tales Stolen Life has so much to offer not only with all of the extras included in the game but because of the length of the game which will take me more than one day to complete. I have been playing the game for hours this morning and know that it will take me the rest of the day to complete if I don’t decide to take a break and get back to it tomorrow. When a game is this good, I like to savor it and enjoy every little detail of the graphics, the puzzles, the HOS, and the extras. This is certainly not a game to rush through to completion.

As you have probably guessed by now the game was an instant purchase for me. I hit that buy button as soon as the game finished installing – no need to wait because I know the quality of games by this developer. Even though I bought the game immediately, as always, please try the demo to see if Legendary Tales Stolen Life is a game you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming! Show less

I don't often post reviews but this game is so good that I had to. If only all games were as good as this developer makes them. Same game play as the Lost Lands series. Don't even bother with the demo just buy it, you won't regret it.

I am thrilled, a new adventure from five-bn, that can only be great. everything is just right, from the HOP's to the graphics an exciting story and already you have one of the most exciting games of this year, hopefully there will be more from legendary tales

Wow. That's really where I was left at the end of the demo - saying wow! I haven't played a game like this in a long time. The story is interesting, the characters are compelling and likable, and the bond between brother and sister is clearly affectionate. The art style is different from anything I've seen in a BFG offering; it reminds me a little of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and I say that as a compliment because I love that game. I was also impressed at how long the demo was, because recently I've played demos where I don't get the full hour's trial, and this one took me close to the time limit. If all that was just the demo, I can't wait to see how long the rest of the game is! I'm really looking forward to being able to sit down and play this one. It's my first game from this developer, but I have a feeling it won't be my last. Show less

You can probably tell from the above list that I'm a die-hard fan of cgi, but this game has way more to offer on top of that.

The storyline is excellent and captivating. The characters are a delight and beautifully played.

There is little to no action that breaks the fantasy, which is a terrific plus. The characters act and react like real people. AND there are no, I repeat, NO screw ups in the sequencing of the storyline - not in the main story or the bonus.

Nobody is miraculously cured, or recovers without some time passing. As a matter of fact, the main story is all about finding a cure for a malicious witchy act. There is also a scene in which a spell is cast using up a lot the the caster's energy; her reaction is very well portrayed. The caster recovers in an appropriate amount of time with dialogue you would expect in a good movie script. Totally believable.

Did I mention that the HOS are all correct? No weird callouts. If you have to find a cleaver, you actually have to find that particular type of cutting tool, not a letter opener. The last game I played had me hunting all over the place for a type of halberd (medieval pole weapon) that turned out to be a scimitar (curved sword associated with historic Middle Eastern warfare). Which is a pretty frequent happening.

This amazing game is totally buttoned up. In other words, Five-BN cares about their standards and it shows and glows. They also care about us, and do not throw "whatever" at us as if we will buy and praise anything, even if it's full of errors.

Frankly, I couldn't get enough of this game, and have placed the series on my "automatic buy" list.

I have always been a big fan of Five-BN. They know what the fans love, and what keeps them coming back for more. I really love stories involving werewolves and was excited when I read the synopsis for Stolen Life. We don't get many werewolf tales these days. However, 50 games and only 15 HOPs according to other reviews turned me off to purchasing.

The demo was doable and went by pretty fast, it was entertaining and visually excellent. The colors were beautiful and the scenes were done so well. An exciting, interesting storyline most definitely. I always love and appreciate the great amount of CE extras we get with Five-BN. They never disappoint and 4 customized play modes make it possible for all skill levels to play. The game ran smoothly, sound was great and music was not overwhelming.

I know my decision to not buy this game may seem silly to many of you but, seriously, I don't want to spend the better part of 8 hours on just mini-games. Puzzle lovers will be super thrilled with this game. If there is a chance this could turn into a new series (with far less mini-games to dredge through), I would be mighty obliged and loving the stories as always from Five-BN. They really deliver top quality, so I certainly can recommend this new release to those of you who don't share my opinion regarding the over abundance of puzzles. Show less
