What a treat, finding MatchVentures 3 this morning and a good sale to boot. A quality game all around! It's unique and full of what takes all the ho-hums out of Match 3 games. After playing the entire demo, I immediately purchased. It seemed this game would out-do Numbers 1 and 2, and I was right.

What a treat, finding MatchVentures 3 this morning and a good sale to boot. A quality game all around! It's unique and full of what takes all the ho-hums out of Match 3 games. After playing the entire demo, I immediately purchased. It seemed this game would out-do Numbers 1 and 2, and I was right.

I've been playing MV3 long enough now to see that I'm in no danger of being the slightest bit disappointed. The previous games were outstanding and I think this one is even more so. So many fun features and options, quests increase in difficulty as the game progresses, the boards are awesome with nice, big tiles that move smoothly and quickly. The graphics and colors are stellar, I think better than in the previous games.

Each level has a different objective which makes it more interesting. After the level is completed an achievement board shows your stars, earnings, rewards and what remains to be accomplished. The battles are more doable for me than before. Previously I was frustrated, often, with losing and replaying which happens when I won't settle for loser status. When the wins are pre-determined, though, you just have to wait for your turn. The same happens in solitaire. I like having something to rebuild, always a plus. A new extra is Princess, the donkey for which we tend to as she helps with the quests. A cute addition although a little silly. A "meter" shows what she needs and when. I've never been into avatars, just don't see the point. Our humorous leprechaun friend has left the premises and I don't care for his replacement. Not a big-deal change, I just enjoyed his humorous comments along the way.

I really appreciate the progressive challenge, a highlight for me. Much better than before. The play modes are great for testing my M3 skills and I've landed on Limited Moves as my favorite. I think the option to switch around makes it fun for everyone to see how it may change the ease or difficulty of the game. It keeps your brain from going comatose. We all know how boring easy-breezy games become after just a bit of engagement. MatchVentures 3 is just fun-tastic quality all around, in my opinion. The mechanics, power-ups, bonuses, layouts, moving boards and map, info/help displays if needed all add up to lots of fun and quality playtime. The devs put a great deal of thought and effort into their latest creation. Though the changes are small, they are definitely noticeable.

Give the demo a look-see. It was very enjoyable and, as Cyril48 mentioned, don't base your opinion on just a few minutes of play. The game starts off easy, I played 6 levels before it began to change. I believe that giving it a toss too early creates negative reviews that frankly just aren't fair. Show less

Although I loved the first 2 games I was a little bit apprehensive as the first 2 games were almost identical so much so that I did not buy the second game.

The mechanics are similar but they have made an effort to make changes. It is never easy to make a great game even greater but in my mind they have done this.

They have added quests that get harder the more you get in to the game, they have also added a donkey that you need to keep feeding and re shoeing which I have not really got my head around.
As I said already the mechanics are very similat but this time the boards are all different and for me there certainly is no shortage in the challenge.
Every hour you can spin the fruit machine in the hope of getting a win.
I find the graphics sharper and the colors are nice and bright .
I just want to keep playing this game now .

They have made the battles much more fairer now and so far I have won every one wheras before it was virtually impossible to win. Have they made them too easy now? Only time will tell but before it was always on the enemies side or that is how it seemed.

One thing I do miss is the leprechauns banter. I know some will like it has gone but for me I found it very humorous

Try the demo but bear in mind you need to give it a good chance to get going as the first few levels are rather easy. Show less

I have waited a really long time for another in this series. So as soon as I saw this game, I knew I would have to buy it. I play the other 2 games constantly.

I have waited a really long time for another in this series. So as soon as I saw this game, I knew I would have to buy it. I play the other 2 games constantly.

The newest version of this series is pretty much the same gameplay as the previous. You make bombs by grouping 5 or more, and you make Amphora's by grouping 4. The exception is now there is more commentary from a lass after every game (very annoying, but I turned her voice off), and a Donkey that I must remember to tend to. (I sort of like that addition)

So far I have played the first 8 games in the demo before purchasing it. Every single level plays like a tutorial. I find this super annoying, but I understand why they have it. It's handy if you've never played. However, it really should have an option to turn it off. I also hate being forced into making moves it wants me to choose before I can even play the game. Another thing, upon first opening the game, you do not choose your avatar or Relaxed or Timed mode until after you've played the first round. I did not care for that at all. I'm experienced with the features, such as bombs and the like, so I should have the option to turn off anything that's repetitive, like tips and tutorials.

There is a Relaxed and Timed mode just like the previous two games. The same options to adjust voice, music and soundFX. You can still skip MiniGames and change the cursor. I prefer playing in Relaxed mode because I hate time pressures. I know others feel differently and like the challenge it presents.

I always like to read all reviews before downloading any game so that I can get a feel for what I'm going to play. One reviewer says the game gets harder as you go along. So far, I have not seen that happen, but I'm not very far in. Maybe it will get harder after the first 10 levels? Or maybe it only happens in Timed mode? I don't know yet.

I did purchase the game after playing the demo. I still love the game. It's enjoyable to play, and so far very relaxing. I can only hope the developers pay attention to the reviews, and take my hint to add more options the next time around. Show less

I have all of the games in this series and really enjoy playing them EXCEPT for very annoying hints and storyline in between every board. If these were removed it would be PERFECT. Or if they could be turned off to save me clicking through and ignoring them.

This is one of the best match 3's made and offered here at big fish. It is a high quality match 3. If you've never played it before, it has a great tutorial. It offers relaxed or limited moves. I absolute love it and was thrilled to see it offered here this morning. Thank you bigfish and developers for making an awesome match 3 game.!!!

A thoroughly entertaining game. However - I am at level 210, completed all the castle repairs etc, fed the donkey, and so on, -- but -- I seem to just be playing now without any new strategic options. Does anyone know how much further the games goes past level 210???

I agree the small changes made in MV3 are positive and enhance the quality of the game. I have a question..... How do you keep the donkey fed? I never have enough gems.. Is there a place to buy them that I can't seem to find? The donkey never has much stamina and now I'm out of food .. and she's low. What happens if she runs out?

There have been so few 'GOOD' Match 3 games on Big Fish for quite a while - at least none that I haven't already bought. This has nice Match 3 Plus taking care of cute donkey, special quest areas, nice 'available' bombs, etc. by making long matches.

Overall, just a fun game. THANK YOU!
