In my opinion, this developer always delivers a fun game, no matter what the genre. This time, they have brought us a new twist on Pixel Art and I love it.

Because the game was labeled Valentine’s Day, I was not surprised by the images and I was pleased with those presented. Chapter 1 was my sentimental favorite, hearts and all, but the other chapters contain a variety of related but not necessarily themed images, such as flowers.

I loved that the completed squares were textured as if I was using a needle and thread. The results were much more satisfying and I couldn’t wait to see my finished needlework. The sizes ranged from about 950 pixels to just under 3000 pixels.

The game ran smoothly. In keeping with the needlework theme, I thought the idea of the spools to select colors was clever. The Tutorial was brief but comprehensive. I’m not sure what more would have been needed in the way of explanation. Any mistakes were easy to find and correct.

I’m sure there will be a few tweaks in future related games from Graphium Studio, but My Hobby: Needlework Valentine’s Day is a great jumping off point for them and us.

I believe the game is a solid 4 star game, but I am giving it 5 Stars for the effort made to bring something new to the genre. Show less

I too would like the spools of threads to disappear once that number is depleted, and the playing surface should be clear of all obstructions.

The image selection could be more varied, but the Valentine's Day theme was a bit restricting. I can imagine having a more diverse portfolio with different themes, just like this developer's jigsaw modules/DLCs.

Gameplay was flawless, the music was relaxing, and I had no issue with the controls.

I hope the next game will bring more diverse (and even larger!) canvases; until then, I'll chill while playing this one. Show less

I have all of the Color by Numbers, Art by Numbers, Art of Coloring all but the Pixel series. I don't like them at all. The same issue I don't like about them is here but doesn't bother me like the others. It will be a buy for me on next big fish sale. Also please, please when/if you decide to choose a color and want to hold down the mouse button to fill in a number of them together and near each other and happen to go into an incorrect number please disable this so it does not appear mistakes are made or make an option for this in settings so people can have it either way. I am sure there are other suggestions, but these are the biggest ones I can think of. I will enjoy working on this for a while. I don't mind the colors so far, not everything has to be rainbow colors like many in the other coloring series. Looking forward to what you put out next. Show less

With that being said, if the images had a broader range, this would have been a 5-Star game for me personally!

The game mechanics were flawless, and I loved the fact that when you click on a numbered spool of thread, the corresponding numbered cells turned grey and were so easy to spot, unlike the Pixel Art series. The colors were beautiful and easy to select because all the Spools of thread were lined up in numerical order on the bottom. I've always been annoyed by the number selection window in the pixel art series because you must click up/down arrows to reveal half of the numbers on the chart. These are tiny little details, of course, but they make a huge difference, so thank you, Graphium, for paying attention to the details!

The bottom line is if you like pixel art games, this is basically the same concept. However, instead of a plain static cell, it has the texture of needlepoint thread. It made the game unique because the developer dared to put on his thinking cap to create something a bit different...why can't we just give them credit? We are constantly asking BF to offer something different. They just gave us something different!

Now for the cons of the game. (besides the image selection)
I don't see the need for the large Buttons to Zoom (+ or -). Yes, they do obstruct the view of the picture. You can scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out, so just ditch these buttons altogether.

I would also ditch the large "OK" button as well, or place it in the top right corner. You can't see the completed needlepoint because of it.

There are 3 Chapters; the first chapter has 27 levels, the second level has 24 levels, and the third chapter has 18 levels. Mostly, this type of game is all about the images...throw in some colorful pictures with lots of curb appeal, such as adorable kittens, mandolins, colorful flowers, castles, old barns, unicorns & horses, dragons, fairies, etc.; the broader the variety, the larger the audience it will attract!

This game offers a flawless gameplay experience, accompanied by relaxing music and smooth controls. I encountered no issues whatsoever while playing, which made for a seamless and enjoyable experience. I look forward to seeing the developer's future updates and expansions to further enrich the experience.

It is very hard to complete the puzzle when you can not see the whole puzzle or access it. You should not have the zoom in & out buttons over the top of the puzzle. Any buttons on top of the puzzle should be moved to the side. I would like to try it again, if this is fixed.

I love the Pixel Art games, but this is a big miss for me. There are a couple of serious issues.

- The images are cheesy and juvenile. They get boring very quickly.
- The game controls are right on top of the game area! You take up about 25% of the play are with the zoom buttons and a totally useless meter telling me how far along I am.
- There is very little variation in the colors. Who ...Show more

I love the Pixel Art games, but this is a big miss for me. There are a couple of serious issues.

- There is very little variation in the colors. Who wants to do a bunch of puzzles that are all 20 shades of red?
- I never did figure out how to get to the 29th spool. I could drag the spools to the side, but not up and down, and there is nothing in the short tutorial to show you.

This could be fun with more challenging images and once they've fixed the game controls. Until then, I didn't even bother to finish the preview. Show less

I hate clicking games and this is one of those where you have to click click click to get anything done. You can click and drag if like numbers are together but those are few and far between. Not for me but as always, try for yourself.

I recently got this game and started playing it. I notice right off that is not user friendly. You can't scroll up or not and the zoom buttons should be either at the bottom or on the side to where it is not interfering with the cross stitch.

There is no way of exiting the actually game. I had to use start button on my computer in order to close the game.

I don't recommend this game.
