Adventure
Duncan Forsythe is the royal gardener of Entoque Castle. He spends his days battling nasty flower beds, hunting down poisonous weeds, and occasionally doing his Royal Majesty’s laundry. Meanwhile, the buzz around the castle is that Duncan once saved the world. This is news to Duncan since he can’t remember a thing that happened over the last few years. He definitely doesn’t remember saving the world. Unfortunately, he may have to – lest the world get thrown into turmoil yet again.

Dark forces are rising, and the key to defeating them lies in Duncan’s memory – the memory that is now scattered throughout the world of Arvale. Take him on an epic quest to retrieve those memories and thwart certain doom for the entire world, all the while battling monsters, exploring dungeons, challenging dragons, rescuing fair maidens, gathering friends and foes, and strangely enough, talking with wheelbarrows.

I'm a big fan of RPGs and this one didn't disappoint.
It's huge and took me over 40 hours to complete - now that's value for money!
There's also lots of humour and I often found myself laughing out loud.
Loads of characters to play with too, and you get to play a couple of side-stories with some of them.
There is a Quest Log and your objectives are pretty clear.

On the down side the fights are really hard right from the beginning. You have to use lots of expensive potions to regain your MP, but you can level up quickly.
The battle music could have been a bit more varied.

Game first came out in four separate episodes. Bought the first episode in 2010, and remember waiting and checking back to see when the next episode would appear. Am glad that the combined version is available on Big Fish, and recommend it highly. (I pass on the wheelbarrows)

I'm fan of RPGs. This one is pleasant to play, and I laughed a lot because of dialogues. The hero has got a very very bad memory (just like me) and sometimes I recognize myself… LOL
If you like RPGs like Aveyond you'll like this one.

I haven't finished this game yet, but I just want to say how much I love it. I really like that in the early dungeons, if you're low on health and items, you just walk out without confronting any of the monsters and go to town to heal up at the inn. There are no invisible monsters, and the visible monsters will only attack if you click on them. This changes as you move to other continents, but ...Show more

There are no invisible monsters, and the visible monsters will only attack if you click on them. This changes as you move to other continents, but it's good to be able to build up your character without fear of getting stuck in an early dungeon. As other reviews have mentioned, this is a game with some funny dialog, which added to the fun factor. It's just so good to have a new, good RPG to play. I just wish Big Fish would have an RPG category so these games would be easier to find. Show less

I'm not sure when this game was released, but I was very disappointed that there is no forum for it in the Community section. Also, only one other review? Where are all the other RPGers? I know that a lot of us still haunt BFG, hungerly seeking these all-too-rare RPG offerings. Anyway, I've played the demo and enjoyed it thoroughly.
My only two complaints:
1. There is no way to adjust (speed up) the character's walking speed that I could find. That's usually an option.
2. There is no way to turn off the tutorial once you elect to use it (other than, seemingly, starting the game over). When I start a new game, I usually give the tutorial a try just in case there's something unique about the controls or gameplay that I don't want to miss. In this game, I found nothing new (as a seasoned RPG player) and soon wanted to be done with the tutorial, but no way to tell it, "Never mind!" It was quite chatty and quickly became annoying. OTOH, if you're new to RPGs, it's a great tutorial as it explains everything in great depth to get you started.
I'd recommend this game to both new and seasoned RPG players. The fun factor definitely seems to be there. Off to buy the full game now. Show less

Arvale is a charmingly fun little game. I played through the entire game, laughing at the story the whole way. My only complaint would be that once the final monster is killed in each level (except the final tower) all the other monsters vanish, so be sure to level up plenty before fighting each boss. If you enjoy games like Aveyond you will enjoy this one.
I recommend this game!
