I don't usually play family based adventures (I'm more of a mystery person). But considering the fact that I loved first game, I was willing to give it a shot.

I don't usually play family based adventures (I'm more of a mystery person). But considering the fact that I loved first game, I was willing to give it a shot.

Beginning of the game was not much exciting. Suburban family getting packed for the trip (well it isn't exciting in the real life so they got that right :D). But lets not be hasty and judge the book by its cover. Now when you get to the first national park, thats the place where the fun begins.

Hidden objects are well built. A little challenging at the beginning and they get more and more challenging further in the game. I personally like large HO-s. There is small list at the beginning, i think 9 items at start, but it gets populated quite a lot (i would say 20-30 items minimum per HO).

Art style is nice, somewhat photorealistic, much better than its predecessor. Cartoonish style on photo-ops is in my opinion nice touch, same as change in interface once we leave town and change of characters in some parts of game (e.g. added helmets in chapter 2, I won't spoil anything).

Music early in the game does get slightly annoying, few short tracks that are looping, but more of them come later. But I think music style really hit it.

All in all great game, i like it, my kids love it and would like to recommend it to fans of the genre. Just give it a chance and I promise you won't be sorry. Show less

This game was refreshingly devoid of the dark, evil aspects of so many of the games these days! It is simply an educational family exploration of natural parks and landmarks in a fun way. It has a nice balance of hidden object scenes, mini-games and puzzles to solve. The only negative I could find was that the transition between segments was slow so I often wondered if I was supposed to be doing ...Show more

It has a nice balance of hidden object scenes, mini-games and puzzles to solve. The only negative I could find was that the transition between segments was slow so I often wondered if I was supposed to be doing something but then the screen would fade out and go into the next scene. This game is absolutely perfect for kids - no negative or objectionable content (except maybe the UFO/extra-terrestrial segment at Area 51). The dialogue with the characters is a little cumbersome also but the language is clean and contains good grammar. Big Fish definitely needs to provide more games like this!!!! Show less

Well, there was a 65% off sale and I bought it. I'm glad I did. With much help from the forum, I finally closed up the house and started on my road trip.

A few tips. Pay attention to what the characters are saying, because often there are instructions in their conversations. Remember to check your vehicle in the lower left portion of the screen. Often times items are put there for later use, i.e. security code, front door key. To set the security system, you will have found the code, which will be stored in your vehicle. When you access the security system at the front door, take the code and right click it on the system. Here's a spoiler -- the code is 92931.

Use the forum!

Once you get out of the house and on your way, it is smooth sailing. I didn't like some of the mini games, and the skip button takes awhile to load. And some of the hidden objects are truly hidden, and do require the hint button.

There is educational information at the sites that you visit.

If you buy it, be prepared for some frustration at the very beginning, but if you stick with it, you won't be sorry. Show less

Awesome Game! Easily our New Family Favorite! Those Simmons are hilarious and Stan, I swear he reminds me of an old golfing buddy. :) Money well spent. Fun for the whole family. We LOVE this game series! Kudos to the developer - AWESOME job!

Fun graphics. Great game. My daughter loves hidden object games, so this is right up her alley. Would love a Mac version, too.

I am a huge HOPA fan but as a change of pace I like to enjoy an easy going yet fun game. This fits perfectly!

The story line is light yet flows along to get you where you need to be. Graphics are fun, easy on the eye. Music not great but far from irritating, I enjoyed this one so much I purchased the prior one before this game.

I recommend this game!
