The original Phantasmat is still my all time favorite game, no other game has yet to hold a candle to it's one of a kind storyline and unusual features with the best creep factor of all time. I purchased the Collector's Edition of this game and after playing the entire game including the bonus chapter, I felt a little bit disappointed:( The demo is definitely the cream of the crop and it leads you to believe that the entire game will be action packed and full of frightening, angry zombies, after all they do push you off the cliff for a true cliff hanger! The rest of the game is still really good, but focuses more on the plot and less on the undead, in fact I think only a few were shown after the demo! This game features Complex Plus Sign Inventory items, most of which have quick puzzles to solve, the Collector's Edition has Morphing Objects and Achievements to earn in addition. You definitely won't find any cuddly puppies, fire breathing dragons or curious kittens in this game, just you alone in this creepy little town wondering if you are alive.......or undead!

The Hidden Object Scenes are all over the board, and there are several smaller HOP's within zoomed in locations. Some require multiples of items found to unlock a tool which in turn unlocks listed items, there are sketches of items to find, and even multiple morphing item finds. You can even opt for a Match 3 game in place of the HOP. My only complaint is that the graphics are rather poor in the HOP's, which I just can't seem to understand from such a great series.

There are a ton of Mini Games ranging from simple puzzles where you turn rings or swap tokens to complete an image to more elaborate puzzles such as placing several round puzzle pieces with arm extensions of various degrees until all arms connect to the round tokens properly.

The Collector's Edition has replayable Match 3 games, HOP's and Mini Games, the Making Of, Achievements, 43 Morphing Objects, Music, Videos, Pictures, Collectibles, a Souvenir Room, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, what are you waiting for, turn off the lights and get your zombie game on, enjoy! I already own the CE. I figure, If you are reading reviews when both the SE and CE are out, you are wanting to know which to buy.

I say, buy the CE because this game has an enormous number of extras, even more than most. Not only can you play the mini games and the HOS over, but you can play the match 3 games that you could have played instead of the HOS over. Plus, the mini games and HOS are fun ...Show more

I already own the CE. I figure, If you are reading reviews when both the SE and CE are out, you are wanting to know which to buy.

I say, buy the CE because this game has an enormous number of extras, even more than most. Not only can you play the mini games and the HOS over, but you can play the match 3 games that you could have played instead of the HOS over. Plus, the mini games and HOS are fun enough that you will WANT to play them over. There’s a bonus chapter, There’s the usual music and art, plus achievements, collectables and a souvenir room. AND there’s a “Making of” video.

Now it is true, I haven’t seen all of these things because I am only about halfway throughout the game. (It continues its great quality and fun after the demo period . . . if anything, it gets better.) From the quality of this game and others by this developer, I know all the special features will be great.

That's why I say, buy the CE.

Some reasons why the game is so great:
GRAPHICS/ART The graphics are good, if a bit dark, and blue-green instead of gray, so not a depressing as gray would have been.
MUSIC The music is not so much music as mood-sounds, and very appropriate. I often turn music off, but not this time. The “music" was an integral part of the experience.
GAMES The mini games are fine but pretty simple. The hidden object games are progressive and unique, plus there are word-only hidden object scenes that pop up in small boxes occasionally. And all of the things that you have to do to progress through the world are fun to figure out, too.

All in all, excellent. So I say buy the SE if you are on a budget, otherwise, this is one that really warrants a CE purchase Show less

This is another 'Phantasmat' series winner. This game captivated me right from the start. For all intent, this could have been a CE.

There is not one bad thing I can come up with on this game. First of all you have custom settings (my fav). In addition to the incredible graphics, they have included unusual items that would work in real life and are not the boring old must have hammer for nails when a rock will do. This game is just good, it's basically all you need to know. Scary at times (you may be startled a few times if you are sensitive to ghost appearances), with masterfully crafted atmosphere, emotional music and original, but really not too hard puzzles. It was a pleasure to play, and it can be a good addition to your collection of good games.

I have enjoyed this game well enough to start playing it over again-rare for me. I want to get all the collectibles and awards, lol. And that is high praise, indeed. These have been nice spooky titles, easy to see, fun to play, and a little more original than many on offer.

I wish this had been longer! The HOS were done very well and there was a good variety to them - morphing objects, silhouettes, lists - I enjoyed that. The story was pretty interesting. Hard to tell, at first, who was alive or dead, good or evil. Well done. I recommend this game.
