BASED ON DEMO............
This game did become a buyer for me, the SE version. I would have purchased the CE if the goodies were better.
I loved the sound effects in this game. So many of the newer games now have this one new "go to" sound effect and thank God it was lacking in this one, considering how much you hear it!

I loved the sound effects in this game. So many of the newer games now have this one new "go to" sound effect and thank God it was lacking in this one, considering how much you hear it!
I loved the HOS in this game, old school list, w some addl. steppers. In fact I found most things were done great here, VO, movies, the diary holding the games storyline, how the characters speak, right down to a perfect portal task map with similarly perfect hint. Plus items in inventory.
A couple of the mini-games I just loved, especially one with a fish tank with a mean Big fish. It was adorable and fun.
I have to personally give kudos to the person assigned ARTWORK in the "storybook series" where you find several different items in the sketch (like 5 fleur de lis etc.).... At first it is black and white hand drawn pencil-- and being an artist myself,,,, this ENTIRE area is just OFF THE HOOK!!! I have played A LOT of these games and I have never seen more perfectly executed sketches! BRAVO!!!
The pictures are cross sketched and once you find the items the sketch fills with color and a VO tells more story. If you haven't played this game yet look for the one with find 5 spears, and the lighter cross sketch of horses in the background IS GORGEOUS. Geez those little buggers were so well hidden!!
NOTE TO DEVELOPERS
My only problem was the standard size of this game looks to fit around a 15" computer. I play most of these on a large 27" monitor and the graphics degrade on the larger monitor.
I would assume the hardcore Big fishers out there that play these games every day for many hours have the larger monitors for HO like I do........ so it would be great if DEV could start out with LARGER SCREENSIZE basic size of game with this in mind. I couldn't adjust it in the options.
This a beautifully done, quality game! It is evident many blood, sweat and tears went into to create it. Thank you Bigfish!! Show less
I recommend this game!

Others have given a complete run down of the Storyline, so I won't re-hash that. The Storyline was excellent, and engaging. Kept me wanting to know what happens next.
The HOP's were very well done, with two multi-step interactive items in each one. Plenty of these.
The mini-games were in a range of challenge difficulty. I found many that were new, and all were interesting.
I had trouble with one, just because I did not look at the screen thoroughly enough. A knight has to pick up four quarter circles, while being chased by a dragon, and place them in a center circle. The "up" arrow means forward..alright. The "hand" means "pick up" and "put down"..got it. But the dragon kept eating my knight! Bad. Until I noticed the order of "pick up" and "put down" was listed on the left! Duh!! Right there..in color! *sigh*
This is a game I will play again. Not just because the Templars are interesting subject matter, but the game is that good! Despite the ending.
I'd like to see the Devs do a game on the Oak Island Money Pit. It has Templar engineering written ALL over it...not Captain Kidd's!
In closing, if you like an interesting Storyline, cleverly done HOP's, and challenging mini-games, I believe you will enjoy this game. It's worth a try! Show less

I usually skip all the dialogue to get straight to the activities, but this one is very interesting and the graphics are brilliant - really detailed. As I play with the TV on, I don't bother with the sound so I cannot comment on that. But I definitely recommend this game.

This is another one of those games that had great potential and could have been a superior game, but it fell a little flat. The lip syncing is really bad, and the characters look lifelike and cartoonish at the same time, but the camera angles annoyed me more than anything, the game looks like it was filmed with a camcorder. If you can overlook those minor details, and keep in mind that the game starts out cheesy and slow moving, it does improve, and the storyline is awesome.
This is a Detective game that delves deep into secret societies and underground criminal organizations, the Knight's Templar want's to protect the legendary Blue Veil chest, which supposedly contains a map of great importance, and the elusive Shadows want to possess the Blue Veil for it's wealth. When your partner Jason Palmer becomes "unavailable" you are thrust into this investigation not knowing who to trust, and with good reason!
The Hidden Object Puzzles are all the same, and just about every scene has one. They are listed item finds with several of the items requiring an interaction that progresses. For example, you pick up a knife and zoom into a teddy bear that has something sewn inside, you use the knife to open up the threads and expose an item that is used on another item which exposes another item and so forth. They are entertaining but not very challenging. You can opt for a game of Mahjong instead, but Mahjong is too boring.
The Mini Games are not bad, some are old standards, others are either newer or have a new take on an old standard. Below are brief descriptions of some of the Mini Games available.
1) Swap square sections of a circuit board so that all the color coded current lines match up.
2) Use arrows to rotate tumblers to find the correct combination of images that has been written in your journal.
3) Turn on a series of lights in order from top to bottom by following the wires from the light to the correct switch.
4) Locate 5 Diamonds, 5 Fleur-de-lis, 5 Spears, 5 Stars, 5 Flowers and 5 Crescent Moons hidden within several sketched drawings. (one of my favorites)
5) Follow steps to create a library card, such as taking a photo with a camera, cropping the picture and using items in a specific order.
6) Connect each Node to as many nodes as indicated on the individual nodes themselves.
7) Swap Gems in the correct order so that they reach their matching slots when you click to activate the machine.
The Collector's Edition has Concept Art, Wallpapers, Original Score, Bonus Movies, a built in Strategy Guide, and a Bonus Adventure, which really isn't enough to constitute the extra price in my opinion, enjoy! Show less

Ahh, a mystery game about Templar Knights and I am one happy girl. I love anything Templar and have devoured every mystery book that even hints at the renowned knights. In Mystery Crusaders Resurgence of the Templars there are secret assassins, the Shadows, to deal with as well as nasty hoteliers so you will definitely need to be on your toes as others try to prevent you from finding the truth. Our story begins as Jason is investigating stories of the Blue Veil, a legendary chest that has been buried under English soil for seven hundred years. The chest is said to contain a map to King Solomon’s mines, so right off the bat we know that everyone is going to want to get their hands on it and some will stop at nothing including murder and kidnapping to gain possession of the artifact. You will play the game as Jason’s friend Natalie who takes up the quest after Jason is shot when she arrives to meet him. Now you will need to step in and follow his leads in solving this mystery game. Even if you manage to obtain the chest, one mistake could be devastating and the map inside could be destroyed forever.
The game offers four modes of gameplay: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom. In the Custom mode you can set the hint and skip recharge times in a range between 15 – 100 seconds. The graphics are excellent, crisp and colorful. There are lip-synced voiceovers that are quite good and I love the British accent.
There is an interactive transporter type map and it is located on a tab in the journal. Yes, there is a wonderful journal that keeps track of the story as we move through the game. Call me old school, but I love having a diary or journal that gathers my information as I progress.
There did not seem to be much variety in the HOPS with most of them being slightly interactive list type scenes. I had some major issues with getting the interactive, windowed items to place once they were acquired because the programming is so touchy and we must hit the exact spot for an item to take. Maybe it is just me and this won't happen for you. Fortunately there is an alternate mahjong game if we don’t want to search for items and I did switch to that when I had difficulty with getting some items to take. Some of the puzzles are not those that we normally see but even those seem quite easy. I’m not sure they will get any better later in the game but hopefully there will be some challenge ahead.
I love the Templar related storyline and the mystery associated with the game, and even though the touchy HOPS put me off a bit because of a great sale this weekend I decided to buy the CE. Although the game is a buy for me, as always, I suggest you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Show less

Hello friends! I like to always try to follow up on games that I did not feel were CE worthy, and this is one of them. When the SE version comes out, I will always give it a shot and see if my thoughts had changed any. Still do not feel this one is anywhere near CE worthy, but I do like it as an SE. There is enough action to keep you busy and moving and I find the story somewhat different and interesting the second time around. The only "extras" in a game I want to see are the collectibles. However, with some of the more recent games, we also have the ability to go back and collect what we missed and have an extra souvenir room. I do like those additions. That said, this one makes a much better SE and yes, I am adding it to my collection. It is worth giving it a second look. If you wish, you may see my CE review under the CE version...too long to post it again here.

I'd like to just say that Granny Gruff pretty much said what i was going o say. So, I defer to her excellent review. This game was ok but underwhelming as far as anything exciting of new.
What struck me as exciting was that it was good to see thet The Dude, from "The Big Lebowski" has found work in hidden object games. It was worth spending a PCC code for, which is what I'd recommend this game for since "decent" games to spend those on are far and few between. This one is OK for that so that's why I recommend it. I wouldn't pay for it, however. Just to clarify. Show less

What you searched for in the HO's ended up with something you actually needed, not always true in games I've played lately..
The music was a bit different and I actually didn't mind the artwork, although don't expect perfect lipsyncing, as that isn't there.
I think this is a try it for yourself game.
