It would seem that unless a game plays itself for you, people are apt to dislike it. I, on the other hand, really enjoyed this game. You have to figure out where to go and what to do in the adventure part of the game. The HOS were simplistic, but even there you have to use your brain to open or uncover items to find things from the list. Yes, there are no VOs, but then, we all learned to read in ...Show more

It would seem that unless a game plays itself for you, people are apt to dislike it. I, on the other hand, really enjoyed this game. You have to figure out where to go and what to do in the adventure part of the game. The HOS were simplistic, but even there you have to use your brain to open or uncover items to find things from the list. Yes, there are no VOs, but then, we all learned to read in grade school (hopefully). Yes, there is no hand holding or annoying hints to constantly guide your way. This is a game for anyone who wants some challenge. In fact, you have to buy hints. I liked the way this game looks, the graphics were simple, but very good and believable. Google it, people. I hope the devs of this game completely ignore the negative reviews, because not all of us want cookie cutter games everyday of the week. Show less

I am so surprised at the number of bad comments about this game. I thought it was a little strange at the beginning and then as I played on the game got better and better it reminds me of the Inner World because you have to figure things out for yourself because the help give you clues not points at the items you need and I love games that make you think.

I recommend this game!

It is the best adventurous game i ever played, It's a good game, but just different, not like the other adventure games on Bigfish. But it has advantages, like interesting story, good and not difficult, mini games (some of them are new and I haven't met them before). It is a relaxing game but at the same time it has mystery music.

It is the best adventurous game i ever played, It's a good game, but just different, not like the other adventure games on Bigfish. She has always been interested with the unknown and mysterious. That's how she became an archeologist. This is also how she ended up in Slovakia exploring the castle of the countess Bethory. This is also how she began to be tortured by nightmares with a dark figure. This is also how she disappeared when you came to visit her. She has been really excited about her discoveries regarding the countess. Now it is up to you to get familiar with the story of the countess and her castle to rescue your own sister. The game challenges you to go to a paralle fantasy world where magic and rituals are part of the reality. You will visit a number of beautiful locations with that cozy atmosphere of small villages in the mountains. The game features great art and challenging tasks. You will have to search for many items hidden in the scenes and solve quite a few puzzles. Don't forget to collect all the coins on your journey. They will make it possible for you to purchase things that will be helpful for the puzzles and riddles, also collecting coins allows you to 'skip' if you become frustrated. I found the mechanics of the game clumsy at best, yet I enjoyed it. If you absolutely need a walk through, there is one on 'youtube'. Show less

I have been super excited about this game, because I love Hidden Objects game. I am a new customer on Big Fish and but I've already played some of the games. And I have to admit that this is the best one! It has an amazing artwork, beautifully done scenes, fantastic and not at all easy for solving mini games which are interactive and multi-step. I also like different stories about mystery women. And the storyline was exactly about one of these women - Bathory. So, the storyline was one of my favorite part. This game was even like a movie.

Storyline
You receive a letter from your younger sister, who has found a strange gemstone at the ruins of the Bathorys’ castle. She asks you to visit her as she is afraid of the place. However you only come to find her missing, as well as a dozen of local girls. Just as usual, the police leaves it upon you. Here you go!
Music / Voiceovers
Can’t comment upon it, because I usually switch them off as soon as main menu appears.
HO scenes & puzzles
It’s actually the first game I come across, where you get paid for HO scenes. A curious approach, because previously (for instance, in the Grim Facade series) coins were scattered all around. It’s good, that the item list was different whenever I replayed a HOS, so it didn’t seem repetitive. Puzzles were more or less usual, so I never used the Skip button.
Gameplay
Once you get used to the navigation and talk to the old lady, the real adventure begins. The only odd thing I remember is using a firefly to light a torch. The rest seemed quite logical to me, especially with the Hint button.
Take your time to play through the demo before you make a final opinion. It’s not a eerie HOPA, though the game title may suggest it. Still it’s a decent SE, especially if you prefer something different for tonight. Show less

First, I agree with the majority, who give 5 stars. This game is really fun and deserves the 5 stars rating.
I love the straight forward HO& adventure aspect of this game. The number of HO scenes is huge.
