And though there were rather many user unfriendly reviews, I decided to play trial as I like Chinese, Tibetan themes. My favourite game has been and is Myths of the World: Chinese Healer. So I played the trial. As soon as I saw the rainbow of colors and exquisite graphics as well as heard very relaxing music I realized it was my game type. And throughout playing the game I wished it would never end. So beautiful, so ingenious. Sometimes I do skip mini games. This time I really enjoyed playing them especially the one with Shiva. That was brilliant. My favorite HOS were on a par with graphics: you could see every teeny weeny detail. And I did enjoy finding morphing objects. I wish there were more games like this one. On your quest to find your niece in Tibet, you get to enjoy lily ponds, tree blossom, multiple Tibetan temple structures, with smiling Buddhas, sheer cliffs of rock towering up against moody skies, fountains and ice, gongs, urns, vases, jars, teapots and lanterns. Easy to see HOPS. Occasional character interaction. Charge your scepter multiple times with different gems, as you make your way up the mountains and overcome various obstacles. Just when you think the story is concluded, there a bit more. 4-5 hour game.
GRAPHICS: Clear and colorful. Mix of real and generated. Filled the whole screen. Not all scenes are created equally, some are very detailed, some are more basic. Brightness and visual content seems to decrease a bit after ¾ of the game. I think they used up all their good stuff.
HOPS: 35 ! (Option to play Mahjong instead.) Clear and easy to see throughout. Silhouettes and wordlists. Some nicer to look at than others. NOT difficult to find. Each HOP has 1 to 2 morphing objects that morph every 10-15 seconds. The way to tell which words are morphing objects in the word list is that they change color in sync with the morphing (green to white and back again). Any objects that simply require interactive work to be remain green. Occasional wrongly worded, eg ‘Trinket’ instead of Trinket box. Happens maybe 2 more times.
PUZZLES: 15-20. All explained very clearly. All skippable. Mix of difficulties: some included are scrambled pictures, sliding bars to create a pathway, elements with numerical values, find matching tiles, re-organization to proper places.
SOUNDS: 3 –Music, Voice, & Sound. Outdoors you get goo environmental sounds, eg wind gusting around, fountain, crickets. Mouse-click sounds all thematic and related to that part of the world. Relaxing world music (ever watched the program Lonely Planet??).
HINT: 15 seconds to recharge on Casual. Will guide and lead you.
DIFFICULTY LEVELS: 3 -interchangeable
MAP: TRAVEL with indicators
JOURNAL: Notes and Tasks
CHARACTERS: Real people. Perhaps a photo taken and then computer used to animate their talking. Minimal cut-scenes.
The only thing I hated doing in this game was having to catch a blue tropical fish by stabbing a stick through it! Probably one of Nemo’s friends :( Show less

This is my absolute favorite game on Big Fish - it's not too flashy, lots of hidden object scenes, it feels adventurous, and the love background music is really good. For me, this game is simply perfect.

Had so much fun playing this. Not too difficult and it just flows so easily. Enjoyed the HOs. Sometime in the future I will buy the CE. The story line was memorable as sometimes I'm playing and I forget who's who and where I am supposed to be going and for what. Colours are beautiful too. I never play with the music on and other sounds I have very low so can't comment on that. I'm so glad I got this. Just give it a chance. Show less

This review is based upon playing the first two chapters of the CE. I have not played more because I own other games that I like better.

This review is based upon playing the first two chapters of the CE. I have not played more because I own other games that I like better.
If you are reading reviews when both the SE and CE are out, I figure you are wanting to know which to buy.
I already own the CE as part of a 2-for-1 sale. It includes a bonus chapter and the ability to play puzzles and HOS over, plus the usual art & music. You will have to decide it you like the game enough to continue with a bonus chapter and if you like the puzzles and HOS’s enough to play them over.
I think the SE would have been a better buy. Why?
Because the HOs are just typical lists and shapes, and because the mini games I have found (few) are just ok, the replayable feature is not worth that much to me. On the HO’s, there is a mahjong option, but I am “eh” about mahjong, Plus, I don’t even know if the mahjong part works in the replayable “Extras."
The best things in the game won’t be replayable as “Extras” because they occur in order to proceed through the game. Getting the plane working was especially satisfying, for example.
Also, as I progress, the beautiful artwork is either getting less beautiful, or maybe I am just tiring of it. And the music is just OK.
Most importantly, game play is more annoying than in many games because
1. object use is not always well thought out and
2. the hints are not always helpful.
Generic examples of problems with object use and hints:
1. You have two objects in inventory that could complete a task, but they won’t. You need a third one that you don’t have yet.
2. When you try to do something, it doesn’t always give you a hint about why. Instead, it just doesn’t work.
So, you must play the demo and decide whether the CE or SE is better for you. I will be very happy to play this game on a rainy afternoon when I have time. It's worth playing. I just didn't really need to buy the CE. Show less

After playing both versions of this game, I'm still not impressed. The graphics are cartoonish, especially in the zoomed in up close scenes, and the games are far too simple for my taste. This game takes place in Lhasa where a freak snowstorm hits in the mountainous region and Lady Pearson's niece Larisa, along with her entire exploration team is hopelessly lost. Being the adventurous Auntie, Lady Pearson kicks off her high heels and heads for Tibet to search for the team single handedly!
Really the only difference between this version and the Collector's edition is that there are 20 Achievements to earn and several Collectible categories, 11 Medallion's, 10 Apple's, 12 Swords, and 9 Stars, but at least in the demo, there are only one type of collectible categories at a time. This game has NO custom settings, only Regular, Advanced or Expert modes, I can't figure out why, this dev is certainly known for their custom settings.
The Hidden Object Scenes are the only feature that was interesting, but super easy. There are interactive list and silhouetted shape finds, some of the items in green will morph, (either version, surprisingly) so you have to wait until the morph is in the correct form to click on. You can opt for a game of Mahjong instead of the Hidden Object Puzzle if you choose.
Most of the Mini Games are so easy you have to wonder why they're even available. Several of the games give you a task list one at a time, finding color coded wires, gems and bug parts that are difficult to miss. Then you place those color coded findings upon their color coded areas etc. Other games are just variations of jigsaw puzzles where you swap puzzle tiles or rotate tiles to complete an image.
The Collector's Edition has 8 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures, 5 Soundtracks, replayable HOP's and Mini Games, 20 Achievements to earn, 11 Collectible Medallion's, 10 Collectible Apple's, 12 Collectible Swords, 9 Collectible Stars, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, Dawa's Revenge. Hello friends! Wow, not sure why I didn't write a review on the CE version of this one in the first place. This is not my usual review, so I won't be adding much to everyone else's review. I know I wasn't kicked out about this game as a CE. It just didn't have enough to really make me want more. I did like the HOPs set up, which include morphing items within the HOP. I only found one HOP in each scene, which I didn't feel was too bad at all, so not overloaded with them. Puzzles were fairly simple and not a lot of them in the demo.
The colors are very bright, but then again, Oriental items are very bright and colorful. It was a bit over-powering at times, but on the whole, it wasn't bad at all. Music was nice and game play was quite good. I do like this one better as an SE, so I will add it to my collection. I think this will appeal to all levels of players.
Give it a try and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews. Show less

I have game credits ready to expire. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother with this one. Story line is old. Challenge level is predictable and way too easy. Big Fish needs to sink their hook a little deeper and come up with more challenging games.

You receive a missive from Tibet stating your niece and her entourage have gone missing. Without hesitation you are off to find her.
Graphics COULD have been quite good .... if not for the orange/gold crayon that was over-used. It truly seemed that EVERYTHING was orangey or gold ..... and that took away from the enjoyment of the game .... for me. Music was lovely and the sound fx couldn't be beat. Voice Overs seemed stilted and not very natural.
Regular, Advanced and Expert difficulties which could not be changed.
There is a journal that showed notes and Objectives, a transportable map that was very basic in what it showed (a curse OR a blessing).
HOGs (hidden object games) - what I came across were list-type games. The tutorial indicated that some of the 'green' (words) items 'could' be Morphing Objects .... or not. Instead, it could just mean that an additional step needs to be taken. There IS an Alternative Mahjong game you can play instead of the HOG. Mini Games were fun, some unique, some took some time to work out .... without being too difficult.
CE Bling:
A small variety of 'extras' which included ....
* Collectibles (these comprised 'groups/sets' when found) 11/10/12/9. Not sure WHAT these are.
* Morphing Objects may, or may not, be found in some HOGS.
I wish I could say this game intrigued me enough to purchase it. Unfortunately, I became quite bored early on in the demo. IMO, there wasn't enough 'oomph' to make things entertaining and, as mentioned above, the bright, and overly used oranges and golds were too often used when another color would have sufficied ..... making the game play less than enjoyable .... for me.
I think this would be a great game for any level of expertise. IMHumbleO, however, the story was blase, the game play lacked the entertainment value I look for and the CE extras seemed pretty bare. While it wasn't for me, I hope those who try their hand at this game ............
