I am always happy when I see a new Big City Adventure posted. I have every one to date and always buy the newest one as soon as it is available. Nothing about the game is hard to do which makes it nice to play with youngsters who love HO games. I wish they came out more often... I would still buy every one! - I also recommend this series to someone who is just starting to play HO games.

This will probably be the shortest review I will ever write. Shanghai, the most recent game in the Big City Adventure series, continues the tradition of excellence in HOGs established by the previous games. This is a straight HOG with nothing to distract from the fun of finding HOs in beautifully rendered scenes throughout Shanghai and getting some education along the way.

Big City Adventure is a fantastic HOG series taking us to famous cities all around the world. There are 10 other BCA games available, this adventure takes us to some of the most famous tourist locations in Shanghai. This is purely a Hidden Object game, with a puzzle available after each location is complete. You will visit popular tourist attractions throughout Shanghai such as, Zhujiajiao, ...Show more

Big City Adventure is a fantastic HOG series taking us to famous cities all around the world. There are 10 other BCA games available, this adventure takes us to some of the most famous tourist locations in Shanghai. This is purely a Hidden Object game, with a puzzle available after each location is complete. You will visit popular tourist attractions throughout Shanghai such as, Zhujiajiao, Longhua Temple, Huxinting Teahouse, St. Ignatius Cathedral, Nanjing Road and Donata Road. You can choose a Timed or Relaxed mode, and you can opt to show zoomed in areas or turn off riddle descriptions.

Each Hidden Object Scene has a hidden Qilin Dragon to find, that isn't on the list, for a total of 60. Each scene also has Bonus Coins (again, not on the list) there are Hint Coins, Time Coins that add either 2 or 5 minutes to the timer, Point Coins that add either 1 or 5k points to your score, and Skip Coins which will allow you to skip any puzzle. Each scene has one area that can be zoomed into, and usually has 2 items hidden within, that are listed in blue text. Unless you opted for no riddles in the option settings, there will be at least one item listed in the form of a riddle, or brief description.

After each and every HOG, you will solve a Mini Game or puzzle such as, a small Jigsaw puzzle, connecting Firecrackers from the top left to the bottom right, clicking on groups of two or more identical tile pieces and my favorite where you hang 4 different colored lanterns on hooks until they are in the correct order as indicated by green lights mean the lantern is in the correct place, yellow means the lantern is in the wrong place and red means the lantern isn't used.

This is a wonderful series that takes us to beautiful countries, and explains interesting facts about some of the most popular tourist attractions. In my opinion, this game is meant to be enjoyed as a family activity, easy enough for the kids (or grandkids) to participate, and interesting enough for adults to enjoy too. Pack your bags HOG fans, you're Shanghai Bound, enjoy! Show less

So pleased with another game of bright colors, nice objects to find, no horror, dreary, or weird stuff. BFG please tell the developers that some of us are sick and tired of years of weary, dreary, bloody horror stuff. Let's get back to fun stuff. This one is again full of good information, clear, bright and the puzzles are fun, not so difficult to do, but some are higher up the level than others to make a nice challenge. This is a good one for most levels and several age groups in the family, the adults can play with the younger ones. My 8 year old grandson loves to play these with me and young eyes often find things us older ones done. Good fun for him and I. Show less

This series is my favorite and I wish they gave us these games more often! They are fun for kids and adults alike. They have great graphics, the music is good, the mini games are fun and that adds up to one terrific game. I love this series! I love the fun facts about the city sites, the HO are at just the right level of difficulty, and the puzzles are fun. Good to see another one out so fast after Barcelona.

Big City Adventures is back and this time our family is visiting Shanghai. As is the case with the other games in the series (I think I have all of them) you will visit different touristy locales to find hidden objects. Big City Adventures is back and this time our family is visiting Shanghai. As is the case with the other games in the series (I think I have all of them) you will visit different touristy locales to find hidden objects. There really is no adventure or story aside from discovering different items hidden in the various locations but that can be great fun if you love HOGs. My favorite thing about these games is that there are lots of puzzles thrown into the mix - one after you complete finding the hidden objects in each location.

There is a relaxed mode if you don’t like to play beat the clock. I always become very nervous when I run out of time so, trust me, the relaxed mode is just what the doctor ordered to cure that nervous tic. The graphics in the game are always excellent and give us a mini vacation without leaving home. Another special touch is the description of each location that we read on a postcard before playing the level. The music for the game is what would be expected and if I keep the volume set low it is tolerable. Although there is a slider in the options for voices, I never heard any voiceovers in the game.

During gameplay you will find coins that can be collected that serve a special purpose such as adding time, or will allow you to skip puzzles. I usually need to find those hint coins because some objects can be very difficult to find. Even though you might choose to play the game in the relaxed mode you can still earn bonus points for each level. There are collectible Qilin Dragons to be found: one hidden in each scene. Once you know what they are, they are fairly easy to spot. Even though you might choose the relaxed mode of gameplay, you can still earn the achievements in the game.

The Big City Adventures are great games that can be played at leisure – one or two levels per day without having to keep a storyline in mind. They are great time filler games that can be enjoyed when you only have a few minutes to spare in your busy day and if you enjoy being an armchair traveler, then the Big City games are a must have. We can be immersed in the various places we travel to without having to pack our bags and make sure that our passports are current. I happen to like Big City Shanghai more than some of the others mainly because of my fascination with Asian culture and this is a great way to explore at my leisure. Hopefully, you will enjoy Big City Adventure Shanghai, but as always I recommend that you try the demo. Happy travels! Show less

If you are into the BCA's you will love this one as well. The only difference this time is you can collect coins to help you along.The mini games are about the same . I still enjoy the BCA's games and will be adding this one to my collection. Great game for the whole family.

I was very happy to see the new BCA game: Shanghai. It is a great game.
