European Mystery Flowers of Death is the third game in the series. Mysterious flowers are out of control and have killed several citizens in the town. You have been asked to investigate but maybe this is a case where you don’t want to find the answers. You really don’t know who you should trust because someone is up to no good.

The game offers four modes of gameplay: Casual, Advanced Hardcore, and Custom. In the custom mode you can set both the hint and skip buttons to recharge in a range of 15 to 90 seconds. There is also an option to turn off the rapid search penalty. The graphics are excellent and at times beautiful. The lip-synced voiceovers are also quite good and, along with the sound package, add a lot to the game.

Our tools for the game include an interactive transporter type map and an Evidence Board. We also have a mini-lab as in the previous games where we can concoct various antidotes to counteract the poisonous pollens we encounter. Yes those out of control plants are deadly!

What I enjoyed most in this game are the HOPS that have quite a bit of variety. Some are silhouette while others are the list type but no matter which type, they are interactive and some are quite different. IMHO, the HOPS made the game a lot of fun. Even a few of the puzzles were different than those we normally see but it did seem that there were more HOPS than puzzles.

The CE version of the game has collectible flower cards to find in various scenes in the game. I don’t know if it is just me but I think they might morph as well. Either that or I need to have my eyes checked – lol. Of course there are those ever-present, meaningless achievements to be earned. I think we could sleep through the game and still earn many of them. The remainder of the extras includes the standards such as the Strategy Guide and the bonus gameplay.

The first game in the European Mystery series was quite good but I didn’t care as much for the second game. Fortunately, Flowers of Death seems quite improved and I found it quite enjoyable. As I mentioned above the HOPS were excellent and not just time fillers so that we could find an item that is needed. I purchased the game as soon as it was released and enjoyed the full game. The story has quite a mystery that evolves as we play the game. Even though I enjoyed the game, as always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if you will enjoy this game. Show less

I did not buy the CE just could not get interested. I had a free game and used it this time. I was so happy I did. It's long and has all the hidden objects I love. Plus all the aspects of a great game. Most of all it was a free game. Happy me.

I'm two-thirds into this game and I'm loving it more and more. Mind you, it started out very slow and I was getting worried there for a while but then it was smooth sailing. I wanted to give this game a 4-1/2 stars, which I will explain my reasons why below, but I'll splurge and give it a 5-star because Big Fish does not offer 1/2 stars, and to be honest, this game deserves more than a 4-star. It's that good!

My review is based upon the SE version and even though I've not completed it, I wanted to give my review while my thoughts were still fresh in my mind.

BLAM devs, you are ingenious! You've created some tasks I've never played before and they're so creative and lots of fun to accomplish! I don't want to give away spoilers but your method in creating a concoction for the pollen antidote from the Florist Kit is innovative and different from any other developers' methods, not that theirs isn't as good. This game is different! I'm very impressed, devs!

I won't go into the storyline because you've read it before from other expert gamers, but you must buy the SE at least. The only glitch, or perhaps it may not be glitch depending upon one's computer/laptop, is that there was a 5 to 6 second delay between scenes. Also, one of the mini-games' strategy was unclear to me and no matter how hard I tried to complete it, I had to skip it which I hated to do because I was on a roll. It's the only puzzle I've skipped so far.

There are several very, very clever mini-games, HOPS, a well-balanced variety of tasks to complete. I like the cut scenes very much; the graphics are great; voiceovers are wonderful. There is a character in the game that reminds me so much of Russell Crowe from Les Misérables, almost the same type of get-up, I kid you not! I do have quite an imagination but you've got to play the game to see for yourselves!

I customized this game to suit me, I don't like sparkles and all that jazz but I do like a very good map and this one is good. I think I only used the hint button once. The puzzles and mini-games are challenging and some are very easy, too. Devs, I appreciate the fact that it didn't take an hour to complete a task for a certain horse! Good on ya', devs!

You have the option of making the level harder than usual and I often pick the harder mode but not the hardest yet! But I usually enjoy reading the text. As long as it's not too wordy, that's fine by me. I rely on the helpful text and a journal if applicable. This one does not have a journal.

Do you ever notice, too, the things that people put in their purses in these games! Just a general example: Lipstick--check! Brush--check, check! A monkey wrench, check, check, check! LOL!

You will be collecting a lot of items for your inventory, but I was down to maybe four, one of which looked like bird seed. Well, it wasn't bird seed but for the life of me I kept trying to give this item to the bird even though it tells you what the items are if you move your mouse over them. Foolish me! But I insisted he needed that specific item because he had something I really, really wanted to complete the task! Patience is a virtue and eventually he got what he wanted and so did I. LOL!

As another reviewer mentioned, it seems the more games one plays the easier it gets or perhaps the devs are becoming lax, but I think it has a lot to do with the game-plan; and after playing over a hundred or so games, you do become much more experienced and quite skilled. This game is very well-organized and rational for the better part, that is. Game-flow is foremost and utmost important to me--without that, it won't work for me.

The mini-games in European Mystery: Flowers of Death are new and different. Bravo, devs! I was fortunate in getting this game at a great discount from Big Fish. Without a doubt, I recommend this game! Show less

Didn't turn up the music, set my own level of challenge using Custom settings. I enjoyed the storyline, although if I want a terrific story I typically buy a book.

I have just finished playing European Mystery - Flowers of Death. It is incomparable! The graphics is outstanding. The voice overs, the mimics, the attention to costume details are super. OK, there are some funny tasks and searches that border on improbable but they are few and far between. The teleport works like a clock and is very helpful. The animals are cute and they are far from becoming your regular helpers.
Bottom line: one of the best games I have played. And I am really proud of the fact that the production team is Russian. Show less

Game is great! Some HO but not the "same old, same old". Mini games are fun and not the normal ones you see with most HO's. Long game but not overly long and a great story line you can follow. Many twists and turns but if you don't want to run back and forth, HINT will show you where you need to go. This is the type of game you could play again in a few weeks.
