I always complain that there's never any excitement in a Mahjong game, but this game proved me wrong! For starters, this is the first time I've ever seen a customizable difficulty setting for Mahjong. You have the options of a Casual setting that has no timer and shows all available tiles, Normal setting gives you ample time to finish the level, shows all available tiles and the hint and shuffle ...Show more

I always complain that there's never any excitement in a Mahjong game, but this game proved me wrong! For starters, this is the first time I've ever seen a customizable difficulty setting for Mahjong. You have the options of a Casual setting that has no timer and shows all available tiles, Normal setting gives you ample time to finish the level, shows all available tiles and the hint and shuffle features recharge slowly, the Expert setting only gives you a small amount of time to finish each level, free tiles are not highlighted and the hint and shuffle features recharge very slowly. There's also a Custom setting offered that allows you to use a timer, choose the recharge times from 10-120 seconds, whether to show available times and allows for a time bonus. There are Mahjong games available in seven different locations with a total of 140 different layouts. You can choose which layout you want to play within the current level but other locations aren't unlocked until you finish the layouts in the current location, or earn enough points. You can earn up to three gold stars per layout, extra points are given for speed matches, and there is a meter that shows how many matches are consecutively achieved, pausing will stop the meter.

There are several different types of Mahjong available and each new type gives you clear directions on how to play. There is the Traditional Mahjong where you simply match available free tiles and remove the hidden Gold tiles. Great Wall Mahjong requires you to remove two matching tiles, but the tiles must be on opposite sides of the wall in the middle, AND they must equal the number 7 combined. Solitaire Mahjong requires you to match tiles of the same suit that equal the number 14, Kings are worth 13, Queens 12, Jacks 11, Aces 1 and the rest face value. One Pair requires you to find logical matches of pictured tiles (key and lock) each layer has only one logical match. Balance Mahjong requires you to match tiles of either blue or red, keeping the balance bar equal (red then blue then red etc) if the balance bar reaches the maximum point, game over. Shuffle Mahjong is basically speed mahjong, the tiles will shuffle if you do not remove a pair of tiles within 10 seconds. Memory Mahjong requires you to turn over one of four tiles (shows for 10 seconds) at the bottom over and find the matches on the board.

Some of these games are quite challenging, and the only one I found to be somewhat boring was the traditional Mahjong. Give this game a try, surely one of these Mahjong game types will change your mind about Mahjong as well, enjoy! Show less

I almost did not try this mahjong game, I thought to myself another ho hum game of mahjong. Well, I was wrong, this was quite different and lots of fun. When there is another sale I will purchase this game.

a totally different and interesting game. LOVE the options on how you wish to play eg relaxed etc ..WILL be buying .. Delighted to find a game that is totally difference instead of same old same old..Highly recommend

Not a bad game, at least it's not boring. Music a little repetitious so I turned it way down. Graphics & tiles are colorful & easy too read but I just didn't care for the 2 "math" levels. Math is not my forte. I guess that I'm just too old/lazy to take off my shoes & mittens to be able to count to 20 & complete the levels!!!!!

For the above reason it's a no buy for me but great for those ...Show more

I did not like the way the playing card style tiles aren't numbered. 1-6 has no number, instead it will have five diamonds or six spades on the tile, etc. So when you are given the levels that require you to pair tiles to equal 14 its a hassle because your brain wants to add numbers together not pictures.

I did not like the way the playing card style tiles aren't numbered. 1-6 has no number, instead it will have five diamonds or six spades on the tile, etc. So when you are given the levels that require you to pair tiles to equal 14 its a hassle because your brain wants to add numbers together not pictures.
In another style of matching you are given domino style tiles. Great, I can easily add pairs up to equal 7. Nope. You also have to match the colors and all the tiles have a washed out tone to them. Dark khaki, medium brown, yellow brown, blue and bluish green. Annoying. It eats up time on the level for no good reason. (Match 3 games are also ruined by hard to differentiate colors.)
Only 2 of the 7 game styles were fun and traditional Mahjong wasn't even one of them because there are better examples out there.
I couldn't get through the hour trial. Show less
