Freya Ekkert has given you the "gift of sight" after her unfortunate death, donating her corneas, and allowing you to see the world in a whole new light. Dr. James warnes that you may have temporary visions, but clearly you are experiencing more than visions, you are seeing Freya herself (does she see you I wonder? and she needs you to help solve her death, which was no accident!

Even though this storyline is similar to a few really good movies of the past, I think it's a first for the gaming world, and I thought the plot was really interesting. I'm not sure why, but you will find Freya's special glasses that help you see past events anytime you come across a misty phenomenon, which helps you piece together the events. If Freya had seeing abilities that makes sense, but why the glasses, it's supposed to be because of the eye's themselves, right? There are Plus Sign inventory items to tinker with and a whole slew of Achievements to earn as well. You will collect Notes and files throughout the game, there are Morphing Objects to discover and even photos of Stupid Deaths that give a brief description about some really odd deaths that have occurred because they didn't use common sense.

The Hidden Object Scenes are creative and varied with Silhouetted Shape finds, progressive interactive silhouetted shapes, interactive list finds and even associations where you must figure out what item relates to drawings of two different items. You can play a game of Match 3 if you're not into HOP's.

The Mini Games are in abundance, but nothing too difficult to figure out. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Select tokens in the correct sequence.

2) Choose the right country and city on a computer.

3) Arrange brass rings in the center, moving one affects others.

4) Navigate through a labyrinth avoiding cameras.

5) Use a magnet to unlock a door latch,

6) Drag sliders to the correct position, moving one affects others.

7) Arrange tokens according to the clue given.

8) Recreate a picture by moving sliders so they stop on the necessary runes, moving one affects others.

9) Enter the correct letters according to the clues.

10) Don't let the beaver leave the garden by pressing on grass clumps to dry them up.

This Collector's Edition has 13 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 35 Achievements, 23 Mini Games, 13 HOP's, 18 Morphing Collectibles, 6 Character photos, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy! Show less

I purchased this CE at full price to continue playing it that day and it was worth EVERY PENNY, here is why I think that.

I purchased this CE at full price to continue playing it that day and it was worth EVERY PENNY, here is why I think that.

The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours exactly
The bonus play took me, 1hr 25min Total gameplay 6 hr. 25min

I have been playing these games for many years and must admit this is my new favorite. The graphics and scenery, throughout the game are positively OUTSTANDING. It is also rare to see the bonus play exceed the demo, and the bonus areas of play in this game are really gorgeous.
I felt the same way about Chapter 3 and wondered why they didn’t use Chap 3 as the demo. It is also rare to play a spooky type game, ESPECIALLY in an asylum, that isn’t all grungy and gross (because who really wants to spend hours in a location like that?) Instead, despite being in an asylum, this game has sort of Victorian flare and the scenery is beautiful.
Another thing I loved about the gameplay, you don't carry items all that long so you remember where they go. I loved how it only takes a moment to look over the scene to see where an item should be placed, WITHOUT opening the secondary window. There are MORPHS to locate in each new scene, which I always see as a plus. It has many different types of hidden object scenes to cater to all of us.
Though I am not a huge fan of the standard type of mini games, this one has some great ones. Towards the end there is one with a Beaver that is so adorable.

The GRAPHICS are rich and clear with gorgeous colors. I kept finding myself oohing and aahing over each amazing scene ESPECIALLY CHAPTER 3 and THE ENTIRE BONUS SECTION. The voice overs were perfect, the special effects didn’t wash out the scene and each new page, including the map, was like a work of art. Thankfully, the actual perspective to each area was also drawn correctly, and realistically which is a huge bonus to me.
Each Chapter has its own mini-storyline (like Reincarnation series, the Redemption Cemetery series, and the house of 1000 door series#. I absolutely LOVE games that do that. In each chapter you are essentially helping a new person. The entire game has a paranormal flare, which I also loved. Special to this game are the “glasses” that alter the visual in a location and show our main characters spin on what happened in a location that can’t be seen, and in the past. This game was so well thought out.

HOS & Diary and map- Every now and then is a hidden object scene that gives you a little more background about our story and makes you understand and care about the people involved more. There is also a diary that holds “pick up notes” throughout the game. #Since I play so many games and a lot at once, I love the capacity to go back and brush up on the story#. The tasked jump map is a work of art by itself, especially in the gorgeous location of Chapter 5.

ABOUT BONUS PLAY: The SE stands on its own from bonus play. In bonus you are asked to locate someone and chase down a cult and its leader Felix.

You play 10 brand new areas in bonus. There were 9 more mini games, which I played them all except 2. I so wish they would give us double the amount of HOS in a hidden object game. They should pole us at Big fish as to how many of us prefer the mini games. I for one do not, and still a larger fan of the HOS.
As I stated above, this bonus play is BETTER than most play throughout the game, with the exception of Chapter 3 which was also amazing.

You CONTIUE collecting items at the end of the SE and in the bonus play.

CE goodies are:
13 wallpapers that save to doc file., 15 concept art with logo, 5 dl music tracks, bonus play, and a 53 page walkthrough guide. There is a page that holds the bio of the 6 missing women. The pictures are realistic and well done.
There is an Achievement and collectible page that holds each new folder you find in the game that details some “stupid death”. I thought that was a blast #and sadly, funny#.

STUPID DEATH FILES- For those that enjoyed collecting each new stupid death tale, check out this book….called STRANGE DEATHS by: Ian Simmons, it has 375 more tales of freakish fatalities.

STRATEGY GUIDE
There is an in game 53pg walkthrough guide. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is, CHAPTER 1 is 3 pages, Chapter 2 is 6 pages #demo assume is 9pgs) BONUS CHAPTER IS 13PGS. So the bonus play is longer than the demo.

Finally we have a storyline that is a bit different and one that is, IMHO, a bit eerie. You are recovering from a corneal lens transplant when you begin to have visions that concern you even though your doctor says it is a normal adjustment after this type of surgery. When you see a newspaper article that shows the ghostly woman who appeared after your surgery, it sparks your interest and you wonder if she is your lens donor. With the flick of a switch you purchase your airline ticket and jet off to Austria to delve further into the mystery.

The graphics are terrific and the style that I prefer in games. I get tired of the slick cutscenes and computer generated graphics that seem to lack pizazz. The lip-synced voiceovers are quite good as well. There are four modes of gameplay to choose when setting up the game: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, and Custom. If you choose the custom mode you can fiddle with various settings. The hints and mini-game skip times can be set in a range between 15 to 90 seconds.

Your tools include an interactive map that is found early in the game. There is also an old-school journal that contains your objectives as well as notes that you acquire while playing the game. Another tool that is helpful is Freya’s glasses that will show you past events as you try to reconstruct the murders.

The mini-games and HOPS are excellent even though the puzzles are just a bit too easy for my liking. That being said, they are still fun and balance out the game. If you choose not to search for items in the HOP scenes you can play an alternate match 3 game.

The CE version includes morphing objects and other collectibles that include files of Stupid Deaths. All in all it is a decent CE package that includes the standards such as the strategy guide and the bonus chapter. Many of us who are seasoned players hardly ever use the strategy guide but it is very helpful for those who are new to the genre.

I love the fact that we have a storyline that is a bit different than the normal fare we receive. It is refreshing to have a mystery to solve that doesn’t involve a demon who wants to take over the world. IMHO the game is creative and very entertaining and it is one I have been waiting for since playing the beta. The characters are believable as is the storyline. For me the game is perfect but we don’t all have the same taste in games so please try the demo to see if In Her Eyes is a game you will enjoy. Show less

I had a great time with this game. In the bonus you had a dog with his snack so he wasn't barking. I always get the Collector's Edition so I got to collect Austrian things and they gave you info on them. They also had files on Stupid deaths which I thought was interesting. I even liked some of the games even if I'm in it for the Hidden Objects. I like it easy breezy.

I recommend this game!

It only took a few minutes of the demo to know "I want this game". It's the story. While haunting and somewhat sad, there's a lot going on here. Who is that man in the mist? Where is our intrepid heroine going on her journey to find answers? I want to know. Add great graphics, well constructed puzzles and HOS, morphing objects and collectibles and I'm set for my weekend adventure!

This edition impressed me beyond my expectations with a unpredictable storyline. Girls have been disappearing left and right in Hallstatt, Austria in Mystery Tales 4: Her Own Eyes Collector’s Edition. Now its up to you to find and save latest victim while she’s still alive! Not because you’re police officer, private detective or something like that. You’re just an ordinary woman from other country. But when you suffered vision loss, Doctor James has implanted experimental crystalline lenses in your eyes. And with their help you can clearly see not only the world around you but also the spirits of the dead! So when one of the victims of Hallstatt Butcher comes to you, you actually see her. And now she (and spirits of other victims) are guiding you in searches for the last girl in this intriguing Adventure. One of the unique features is a pair of horned rim glasses you must put on in order to see events of the past along with scary scenes of the Murderer abducting his victims (He wears a hockey mask that is super creepy). Colors are very clear and bright. The only place we see a lot of blue is within the cut scene. Guess we shouldn't complain about the purples either...the devs made the inventory bar purple...silly devs. Game play was mostly very good. The voice overs are well done, but very few and far between. Sound FX are also very few. This is a fairly quiet game, but it does have it's great moments. HOPs are varied and interesting, e.g., lists, silhouettes, riddle type and interactive. They are clear and clean and items are not difficult to find. The interactive HOPs can take a little time to complete. The HOPs are very well done and because of the variation, you don't get bored. If you aren't interested in the HOPs, you can switch to a match 3. Hint system is very helpful, and there is a transport map feature. For long distance, the map opens up to where you need to go and you just jump from there. Puzzles weren't difficult, but one did take me a little time to complete. The HOS were interactive and some of the best I have played in quite awhile. Some HOS are Morphing items The morphing items do morph quickly, so be on the lookout for them. Expect the usual CE bling and a bonus chapter that is interesting but doesn't relate to the main story at all. I think players of all levels will enjoy this release. Enjoy !!! Show less
