This is the kind of game if you liked the SE, the CE is worth every penny and the game is truly enhanced by having the extra’s here. So if you liked the SE and have some credits hanging out….just trust me and come back for this CE. Really, the only thing that would have perfected the CE content is if there had been a screensaver.
I feel this is the best game in the series and loved the more paranormal-spooky twist, which is unlike the other games in this series. Everything worked. The graphics are clear, deep, rich and colorful with perfect lighting.
I reviewed this yesterday and need to alter a couple of things. It wasn't chapter 3 I was such a fan of in this game, it was chapter 5. In chapter 5, you close in on the killer and you are playing in his turf, so to speak. Usually when we are around a killer's house, the atmosphere is decade, icky or dark. In this case, you are outside with gorgeous visuals. It feels like you are on a mountain side on a moonlit night. Not to mention this adorable little bird sitting in a nest.
I also want to revise from my CE review that you do help several people in this game but it isn't set up where each chapter has its own person to help. The SE ending stands on its own but the CE ending is definitely worth seeing. There is a mini game at the very end of bonus that was just perfectly done and you find yourself really caring about the characters.
You don't carry items all that long so you remember where they go. I love how it only takes a moment to look over the scene to see where an item should be placed, WITHOUT opening the secondary window.
There are MORPHS to locate in each new scene, which I always see as a plus. It has many different types of hidden object scenes. And each scene has fun & different collectibles. I could not wait to pick up those “police files” to see another way someone died in a weird way.
Though I am not a huge fan of the standard type of mini games, this one has some great ones. There is one with a Beaver that is so adorable, and one with a raft in chapter 5 that were favorites. The voice overs were perfect, the special effects didn’t wash out the scene and each new page, including the map, was like a work of art. Thankfully, the actual perspective to each area was also drawn correctly, and realistically which is a huge bonus to me. The music has several tracks and worked perfectly with this game. The entire game has a paranormal flare, which I also loved.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS CHAPTER 5 which despite the fact it belongs to the crazy killer it is all played in this gorgeous outdoor location with a full moon and a waterfall. I also loved Felix’s mansion in the bonus play, it was better than the demo.
DEVICE SPECIAL TO THIS GAME: are the “glasses” that alter the visual in a location and show our main characters spin on what happened in a location that can’t be seen, and in the past. This game was so well thought out. I do agree with reviewer Penmom36 who commented as to why there are even glasses when it’s our characters “special eyes”. I do agree that could have been done differently, maybe the inventory icon for these areas could have been our characters face- and had her eyes glowing white simply due to the fact the name of the game is MT Her own eyes, not MT Frey’s glasses.
HOS & Diary, map and Match 3- Every now and then is a hidden object scene that gives you a little more background about our story and makes you understand and care about the people involved more. I wish all games had that; just perfectly done here. There is also a DIARY that holds “pick up notes” throughout the game. Since I play so many games and a lot at once, I love the capacity to go back and brush up on the story. The tasked jump MAP is a work of art by itself, especially in the gorgeous location of Chapter 5 as well as Felix’s mansion in bonus play. There is the match 3 option to playing the hidden object scenes but you can’t replay it as CE content. I would actually prefer a match game, to the match 3 alternative, and would prefer having that option over mini games and instead of the hidden obj. scenes. I have no idea why the DEV seem to feel we like the Mini games more than the HOS in a HO game! They should pole the Big Fish members pertaining this.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY: The SE stands on its own from bonus play. The bonus story is unrelated. You are asked to locate someone, with your special skills, and chase down a cult and its leader Felix who have absconded with someone’s sister.
You play 10 brand new areas in bonus. There were 9 more mini games, which I played them all except 2. I so wish they would give us double the amount of HOS in a hidden object game. You CONTIUE collecting items at the end of the SE and in the bonus play. The glasses are continued in bonus play too.
Felix’s mansion is my favorite portion of the bonus gameplay. The fact that all the areas of play, in bonus are new is not seen all that often. Seems to me, that time was spent to make the bonus really special.
The bonus play is amazing and I am so happy I purchased the CE. The end itself was just a perfect, neat little bow placed on this perfect package!
CE goodies are:
13 wallpapers that save to doc file., 15 concept art with logo, 5 dl music tracks, I liked the one titled “Running Fog”, bonus play, and a 53 page walkthrough guide.
There is a page that holds the bio of the 6 missing women. The pictures are realistic and well done.
There is an Achievement and collectible page that holds each new police file you find in the game that details some “stupid death”. I thought that was a blast (and sadly, funny#.
STUPID DEATH FILES- For those that enjoyed collecting each new stupid death tale, check out this book….called STRANGE DEATHS by: Ian Simmons, it has 375 more tales of freakish fatalities.
STRATEGY GUIDE
There is an in game 53pg walkthrough guide. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is, CHAPTER 1 is 3 pages, Chapter 2 is 6 pages #demo assume is 9pgs) BONUS CHAPTER IS 13PGS. So the bonus play is longer than the demo.
Huge hugs and thankyou to all of you at BFG, and Domini Games who created this perfect game!! My time was so well spent, and I know I will replay it again!! Show less

Your crystalline eye-lens transplant is a complete success, you can finally see the world in a whole new light! Dr. James warns that you may have a few odd visions while your eyes adjust, but he never mentioned you'd be seeing a ghost, let alone the ghost of Freya Ekkert, the lens donor! Freya is trying to reach out from beyond, pleading for help, her death was apparently no accident. You feel compelled to investigate this mystery, after all, she did give you the gift of sight, and the bond between yourself and Freya might be the edge you need to solve this case where others have failed.
Even though this storyline is similar to a few really good movies of the past, I think it's a first for the gaming world and very refreshing. I'm not sure why, but you will find Freya's special glasses that help you see past events anytime you come across a misty phenomenon, which helps you piece together the events. If Freya had seeing abilities that makes sense, but why the glasses, it's supposed to be because of the eye's themselves, right? There are Plus Sign inventory items to tinker with and throughout the adventure, you will collect notes that for some reason are scattered about Freya's hometown. The Collector's Edition has the addition of several Achievements to earn, Morphing Objects, and even photos of Stupid Deaths that give a brief description about some really odd deaths that have occurred because they didn't use common sense.
The Hidden Object Scenes are creative and varied with Silhouetted Shape finds, progressive interactive silhouetted shapes, interactive list finds and even associations where you must figure out what item relates to drawings of two different items. You can play a game of Match 3 if you're not into HOP's.
The Mini Games are in abundance, but nothing too difficult to figure out. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Select tokens in the correct sequence.
2) Choose the right country and city on a computer.
3) Arrange brass rings in the center, moving one affects others.
4) Navigate through a labyrinth avoiding cameras.
5) Use a magnet to unlock a door latch,
6) Drag sliders to the correct position, moving one affects others.
7) Arrange tokens according to the clue given.
8) Recreate a picture by moving sliders so they stop on the necessary runes, moving one affects others.
9) Enter the correct letters according to the clues.
10) Don't let the beaver leave the garden by pressing on grass clumps to dry them up.
The Collector's Edition has 13 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 35 Achievements, 23 Mini Games, 13 HOP's, 18 Morphing Collectibles, 6 Character photos, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy! Show less

I'm not a huge HO fan, but Her Own Eyes has a great storyline and really original HOS and puzzles. You are able to see for the first time in your life, and the new lenses give you the ability to see dead people. Not only that, you can reach into the past and retrieve clues to a crime.

The HO's were the type where you find a few objects to reveal the list. For example, you have to find two notebooks in order to reveal the hidden object list. There are also morphing objects (yay!) and usable tools for discovering other items.
The puzzles are thought-provoking but not impossible - just right. Not only that, I really got involved with the story.
There were a few weird things, like having to search the dead girl's house right in front of her mom. Maybe I'm sensitive, but that just seemed creepy. Still, I'm being pretty picky, since this is one of the most absorbing HO's I've played in a long time.
There's an interactive map AND a custom mode - always a huge win with me. Show less

The premise is intriguing, and not too "over the top"! I am tired, tired, tired of the "spooky, haunted everything, demons around every corner" games. This one includes many supernatural elements, but there is enough "reality" that one's imagination is piqued, but it's not necessary to suspend one's intelligence. I played the CE, but it's the storyline, the HOs and mini-games that create a good product. The extras are nice, but just that--extras. This is a excellent game! Show less

After the surgery, when you encounter a scene that glows or has a mist, you pop on your magic glasses (lower right) to "see" in "her eyes" the message the ghost is trying to communicate about her murder.
The visuals, voiceovers, and plot are excellent. A few of the HOS make you find all morphing objects in order to open the list of objects to find. Some items in the HOS require more than one action to complete.
The mini games range from easy to challenging. I skipped 4, mainly from lack of persistence rather than difficulty.
This is a long game, and most actions to accomplish are logical or easy to intuit. The map teleports and makes it easy to figure out where an action is available. The helpful messages are great. You can switch to Match 3 if you get stuck in an HOS.
Loved this game and wholeheartedly recommend to all. Show less

Voice overs were very good and I enjoyed the storyline although it has been used before. Game ended very well and completed the game. HOS were interactive and included some morphing which was a good change. Mini games/puzzles were doable and I did skip some because I am not a big puzzled player.
Story stayed on track and the HOS and puzzles were not so disruptive that you lost track. Hard core players who need a difficult game would probably not like this or find it too easy, but I found it fun to play and relaxing. I like smooth flowing games. No glitches I found. Not the longest game in the world but not short either. Good deal for your money. Show less
