The original Cursed House was offered by Big Fish in 2011 and Cursed House 2 was offered in 2012. Both games received high star ratings by most reviewers, and now I know why. Cursed House 3 is spooktacular and jammed pack full of very unique features right from the get go. I loved the fact that each level offers new challenges, but still have the challenges from the previous levels. You can choose from a Relaxed Mode, a Limited Time Mode or a Limited Moves Mode, so there's a mode to suit every type of Match 3 gamer. The object of this Match 3 game is to collect coins and to fill up the Amulet of the Eye which will uncurse the Cursed House a little bit at a time.
When you make matches of 4 or more identical tiles, you will receive a Lightning tile, and when 3 or more lightning tiles are matched, it creates an explosion to destroy several tiles, and some obstacles. Levels with Trunks require you to collect Trunk Coins, when all trunk coins have been found, you need to make a match adjacent to the trunk or trunks that will vibrate to alert you that all trunk coins have been located. Once the trunks are opened, you receive bonuses and other parts of the board are unlocked.
Some levels have Cannons that require you to make matches next to the wick to fire the cannon to start a chain reaction, some cannons are locked and you must make matches in front of the key to allow the key to move towards the lock. Firing the cannon also opens up other parts of the board.
There are several types of coins besides the gold coins and trunk coins, Dusty coins that need two matches, coins that are split in half requiring matches in front of the pieces to join the two halves. Coins that need filled in by collecting falling drops of liquid or gold by dropping them off the board to fill a vial. Bug coins need to be collected to get rid of pesky bugs that annoy you as well.
Some tiles have obstacles such as boarded tiles, some boarded tiles have shields that require matches made on the sides without the shield for more challenge. There are Stone tiles, Lava tiles, Chained tiles, ice tiles, Rock tiles and Fog tiles that require either a match adjacent to them, most but not all obstacles can be destroyed with lightning explosions or bombs. There are even Blue and Red Hot Stone tiles that require matches on top to destroy them.
After playing a few levels, you get to play a Mini Game such as Higher/Lower Solitaire that has an extra slot to store any face up card to use in a match later and unblock cards on the board. There are also Hidden Object Scenes and one of my favorite games, Spot The Difference which has very subtle differences and wasn't as easy as you'd expect.
This is definitely a fantastic and entertaining Match 3 game that has very unusual features. That's thinking outside of the box, and now I want to play the previous versions to see if they are just as fun, enjoy! Show less

I played and loved the previous two games in this series and this one is equally addictive. One thing I particularly appreciate is that this game is not simply a rehash of the previous games with different icons and maybe a couple of new power-ups, as is the case in so many M3 series. While this game has the same sensibility and some of the same challenges as the previous games, the gameplay is very different. I find it much more challenging but in a fun rather than a frustrating way. The music is fine and the sound effects are appropriate and add to the game. Some of the icons are too similar, in my opinion, but I found that after a while this did not bother me. There is not much in the way of graphics, but it is very satisfying to see the house become un-cursed as you go along. If you enjoy a challenge and like something different, I highly recommend that you give this game, and actually the entire series, a try. Show less

It's different from the second and I love it even more. The HO part was challenging... hard to find the pieces until you know what to look for, the spot the differences was difficult but I got it! The solitaire games was fun. I know it's going to get more difficult as the levels go on but it's so much fun and gives enough of a challenge to keep your interest going from level to level.

You don't have to go back to the top of the board and match tiles all downward over and over in order to work a way to break that stubborn one at the bottom. Background music is perfect, visuals are bright, big, with clarity, EASY to see! I like this better than the Cradle games and I LOVE the Cradle games! Show less

I really like it and it's a change up from many other Match 3 games.
There is a short section where the fog takes over and you have to match things quickly that I didn't like but it was only for a few sessions so far. I REALLY don't like anything timed!
It reminds me of the old Tetras and other games that you can play over and over. I am over 1/2 way finished and still finding new twists. This one is really worth the money.
Thanks developers!

Some objectives are a combination of firing cannons, opening trunks, chasing lady bugs or matching tiles after setting them on fire and lead the tiles to iced coins for defrosting. I definitely enjoyed the difficulty option; Casual with unlimited moves and time or limited time or limited moves. This makes this game good for different levels of match 3 players. This game also has a couple of mini games spaced thru it. The spot the differences is on the hard side. The differences are often so slight that they can be easily overlooked. I used the hint button a lot. The second is a card solitaire game. It has a skip button for those not interested. My only complaint is that there isn't a way to replay levels once you move on to next level. Show less

Cursed House 3 is an awesomely good Match 3 games that reminds me of a great one that came out last Halloween. I loved that game and now (a bit early for our spooky season) comes this latest edition of the Cursed House games. I must admit that I didn’t care for the original but this one is so much better.
As we play the game our goal is to get rid of all cursed items that have made this house a haven for all sorts of creepy things. You can do this by selecting one of three gameplay modes but my preference is always the relaxed mode when that option is available. Beware, uncursing this house is not going to be easy. The levels become progressively difficult with each on building on the previous. The object of each level is to collect coins where fragments of the Amulet of the Eye have been hidden. Once the amulet has been filled then portions of the house will be uncursed. A seemingly easy task that becomes more difficult with each level. Although this game has some things that I don’t care for such as the stone walls on either side of the screen rather than a full or stretched screen option.
Overall, Cursed House 3 is a fun match 3 game for those of you who enjoy the genre. I know I am certainly having fun as I spend my morning playing instead of accomplishing my other daily tasks. Even though I like this match 3 game, please try the demo to see if it is one you will enjoy. Show less
