5 stars just for being a TD game.
It's not the greatest out there but it offers a challenge and needs a fair bit of level replay to continue.
Each level requires you to construct your towers at crucial points in order to attack and kill the enemy. There's a combination of flying and crawling 'bugs', each with their own surprises or weaknesses.

Stars and points are collected along the way. The stars help you upgrade your tower's abilities in 'the shop'. Points collected allow you to upgrade your towers to the next level during game play.
Beware!! Make sure to save your game progress during game play. If you don't continually save, and you die before completing the level, you will automatically go back to the previous saved point in the game. This could be 5 levels ago, so it pays to save as you go.
Overall a fun, challenging little TD game. More please! Show less

If you liked Plants vs Zombies, then you are going to LOVE this game.

The levels are challenging (lvl 14 took some doing and I had to think very differently).

Place your weapons and defend your soldiers from incoming underworld monsters. I have now played all 20 levels on Casual - am trying for normal levels - hard game, but SO MUCH FUN

The game impresses with refreshing new ideas and good graphics. It is very varied with a progressive difficulty. The FX are well chosen and convey a harmonious atmosphere. The number of Level promises a long and good entertainment.

This is a really tough game. I have played for hours and I am only on level 4. I can ALMOST win a level and then one enemy gets through. Collecting stars to upgrade is slow and tough. I guess you are expected to replay levels as many times as I have been. I would like to give this game 5 stars, but it has some bugs that need to be worked out, mostly in graphics with tutorial windows that don't close when they should.

Also, this is a very difficult game. I have been replaying levels to get stars to upgrade weapons and it takes a while to accumulate them. I like a good challenge, so I don't mind, but it can also be frustrating.

I recommend this game!

I like a challenge and its nice to finally get a game I can't beat in an hour or two - but - I can't get past level 14. Interesting tower defense game, with entertaining and new ideas. Different opponents and towers offer even more diversity. And such a variety of successful Level. It stands out well from the crowd at TD games. I like it very much.

I love Tower Defense Games, but this game just wasn't very fun because it had too much going on. Some of the maps have fixed paths that the enemy walks on, that won't allow you to place weapons there, other maps have no paths but allow you to place weapons to create paths and blockades. I love Tower Defense Games, but this game just wasn't very fun because it had too much going on. Some of the maps have fixed paths that the enemy walks on, that won't allow you to place weapons there, other maps have no paths but allow you to place weapons to create paths and blockades. You must first purchase weapons, then they can be upgraded until they reach maximum capacity, there are cannons, crossbows, freezers and blade crosses and eventually you'll have access to all 18 available weapons. There are also 18 different types of enemies, some that are slow but deadly, fast and agile, highly aggressive and even enemies that fly. This isn't a bad TD game, it just has complicated features that take a while to get used to. For me, I think I like the the traditional TD games, they just seem more fun. Show less

Will let others describe the exact details but I can say that The 1st Wave has a cross between very poor design, glitchy play (tutorial pop ups that do not disappear) & annoying processes (being unable to place weapons, & also the grid not showing up until you buy something and you cannot even see what an item does by mousing over it.... Should not have even made the cut.

This is a shoddy game that seems like the sort of thing a fly by night mobile developer out for a quick buck would try to insert into a mobile app store. Show less

I didn't buy this game, I downloaded the trial and only played about 10 minutes before I quit. It's not very fun at all. I was excited to see a time management game, and then it was just a big flop.

I don't recommend this game.
