I wasn't sure, if I would enjoy this kind of game, but I was in the mood for something new. I bought this game, and loved it, so I purchased the other two games in the series. I have since played each game 3 times, and I really hope they make more of these fun turn based games. I was very surprised to see some negative reviews because I enjoyed them so much. I wasn't sure, if I would enjoy this kind of game, but I was in the mood for something new. I bought this game, and loved it, so I purchased the other two games in the series. I have since played each game 3 times, and I really hope they make more of these fun turn based games. I was very surprised to see some negative reviews because I enjoyed them so much. I like that there is replay value since if you chose a certain path the game goes one way, and if you chose another path other fights become available. I really hope Big Fish will offer more of these type of games in the future. Show less

This is the third (and hopefully not final) chapter in this unique series. The characters change in each new edition, but the concepts remain pretty much the same. The obvious challenge to the game is simply to defeat the collection of opposing characters. You acquire gold from battles, and use it to purchase everything from equipment (weapons, armor, etc) to skills and magical abilities, to even purchasing additional warriors. The less obvious goal is to achieve more experience points, which translates to a total score. As this score increases to the next goal level, your abilities are also increased. You can successfully complete the game regardless of the total score, but the challenge is to get the highest possible score. The program will save up to three games, including the final score. You can replay the game endlessly trying to improve past performances. There are an infinite number of possible pathways you follow: Not all of the characters available are needed, nor are all of the equipment and magic which you can purchase. Differing strategies allow you to improve your game. It's not just about winning, it's about winning well. Show less

I was a bit put off by the very low rating at first but I thoroughly enjoyed it as it was different from hogs and normal time management. I have never played the other games in this series.Ok the music is a bit naff and played first on easy but have moved up now and am enjoying it. Don't be put off by the low rating give the demo a try and see if you like it or not

I recommend this game!

Adventure strategy game, which reminds me of the old board games I used to play as a kid, with those hexagonal combat maps. Visually, I liked it and the characters were interesting. Braveland Pirate is the third and final chapter of this turn based, strategic battle based RPG. I wasn't impressed with the original Braveland, or the second game in the trilogy, Braveland Wizard, and other than the theme, Braveland Pirate is no different! The graphics are old school, and there's way to much dialog in between battles, you don't even get to pick and choose your battles, you just move along the board in a TM fashion. Everything is basically the same in all 3 games except the theme of the game, which are all 3 different so I'm not sure how this qualifies for a trilogy. It seems to me that it should at least be the same main character, but on different adventure, to be a 3 part series??

Braveland Pirate begins with a traveler embarking on a journey, with empty pockets, but a head full of hopes of discovering an amazing adventure. When he reaches the port, he begins to search for a job that will help fill his empty pockets. He doesn't want just any job, because he's a fairly laid back kind of guy, so he searches for a quieter line of work. Eventually he applies for a position as a pirate, because that's certainly a quiet, laid back career, right???? Nope! because his first day on the job, is anything but laid back, because their ship has just encountered a Ghost ship....and you know what that means....time for a Battle Royale, pirate style!

Each battle shows the number of fighters each unit has, from both sides, the more fighters there are, the more dangerous the battle is. You can move your players to any highlighted cell, in a honeycomb grid arena. Some units are faster than others, some have special abilities, and that's where the strategy comes into play. Once you are close enough to fight, you click on your opponent to battle them. Eventually, you will be able to use special abilities, that will have a cool down period after each use. Targets that are marked with a solid circle, deal damage without penalty, and with each battle you win, will help you gain experience points.

If you enjoy battle type RPG's, then you might enjoy this game. But there are way better RPG's available such as Lilly & Sasha. For me personally, I found all 3 Braveland games to be monotonous, and the graphics less than desirable, they just don't have any wow factors. Show less

My daughter and I just tried it out because we like combat and pirate themes, but just after the first encounter with the ghosts, the pirate started cussing! For a game that looks like it would be fun for children and people of all ages, it was inappropriate to use such language in my opinion and I certainly do not want my daughter to play it!!
