“Hubby says "publish it quick!" I spent several minutes just looking at the intro page, the details were really fine. The wave motion was perfect, and what a pretty screen! What I really enjoyed about this game was the running story line and the interaction of the characters, it gave more reality. The graphics and the characters movements were top notch. The colors were nice jewel toned and not dark and foreboding.(boring) I look forward to more games like this from 4 Friends. You Guys rock!”  - Sarah, beta tester

“Great adaptation of an original kids story I was raised with. Good fun with excellent map, help, graphics c\w nice story & adventure. The match-3 fight was a nice touch for me. Thank-you for this beta look-see play time. I'll look forward to the release.”  - Thomas, beta tester

There are both collectibles and morphing objects, something I am not the greatest fan of but here you can see where to seek them on the map (rare in HOGs but not unheard of) AND you have a counter on the left side of the screen that tells you exactly how many collectibles there are left to find in this scene (wonderful!!!). I love Alice and have played lots of not so good games based on the book. This is a complete makeover and it is actually the best Alice game I've ever played on PC or Android. The HOS are not too many and there are so many other interactives that you do, from using a compass to find lost things to a watch that let you travel btw you and your.... (still don't want to spoil it). This game has a lot o never seen things in a game for sure!!! Show less

GREETINGS FELLOW FISHIES
I am taking a quick dip into the pond today to share my thoughts and feelings about 4 Friends Games newest offering," Bridge To Another World: Alice In Shadowland"
I found this game to be interesting, entertaining and enjoyable from start to finish. From the original and somewhat haunting score, to the enjoyable puzzles and interesting HOP scenes, there is much to enjoy in this game. Blending the classic characteristics of our much loved Alice stories with the modern twist of the digital era, we search between worlds utilizing both magic and our smart phone!
The graphics were lovely, with brightly saturated, deeply hued colors. Even the HOG scenes are well drawn and have interesting interactional components. The drawings within scenes were well developed and nicely detailed and it was entertaining to be able to touch various objects and have them change form in response.
I liked having achievements to earn and items to collect. In this game we collect 37 cards, earn 20 different achievements and locate 30 morphing objects. Towards that end, the map was nicely detailed and indicates available actions, collectible cards, morphs, tasks remaining and even length of time you’ve been playing the game.
The game played smoothly without any glitches and offers a nice balance between straightforward adventure aspects and relaxing mini games. While for my personal tastes, I would have appreciated a greater degree of challenge in the puzzles as well as an alternate game to the HOPs, I nonetheless fully enjoyed playing this game.
HAPPY GAMING! ~B Show less

Alice was distracted by a large red top hat adorned with playing cards, laying on the road, when she was taking an evening run. Curiosity got the best of her so she stopped to get a closer look, but this turned out to be a very bad decision. Alice is broadsided by an old man who pushes her over the bridge and into the river below! Alice panics and grabs the first thing she sees, a mirror shard that swooshes her into a portal of Another World! This isn't the Wonderland that Alice discovered in the fairytales, this is Shadowland, and the old man is none other than the white rabbit, well Rabbitson, to be more specific. Things go from ugly to worse when he realizes he has the wrong Alice, this Alice isn't the one the prophecy awaits to save Shadowland, and the Princess of Hearts has put a price on her head! Just when you think things couldn't get worse, Alice's very own shadow is taken, and without your shadow, you cannot survive in the real world, Alice can't go home without her shadow!
What a fantastic twisted fairytale! This game is awesome, and you can't help but think about the good old days when you were a child. I remember watching Alice In Wonderland for the first time, I thought the Cheshire Cat was scary with those humongous teeth, nobody told me he was a grinning kitty at the time! I have to give kudos to the devs, this is thinking outside of the box, this is genius in the making and they should recognized for their efforts! Alice will find some very useful devices along her journey to recover her shadow, among them is a very special Watch. This watch is used to transfer from your body, into your shadow , and back using the hands of the clock. (this part didn't make sense to me, how does she transfer into her shadow if the Bandersnitch stole her shadow?) Alice also briefly uses a special Compass that helps locate lost items but only when used with another item connected to it. The compass will reveal what happened when you move the compass around the scene and click on the matching image as shown. Several of the scenes have a Panning Feature that allows you to pan the scene right or left to create a broader range. This Collector's Edition also has the usual Achievements to earn as well as 31 Morphing Objects and 37 Collectible Playing Cards. Each Scene may contain more than one of each object so there are pull out tabs on the left of the screen that will tell you how many cards and morphs are available in each location. I found this feature entertaining and was enough to persuade me to purchase this Edition over the upcoming Standard Edition.
The Hidden Object Scenes are really well done and had interesting locations as well. There are Interactive List finds, Keywords to find in a story and one of my favorites was finding several Metal Alphabet letters.
The Mini Games are numerous and varied with a mixture of super simple puzzles to lengthy more complicated games. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo. I'll include more on my review of the SE, from the main game as I complete the adventure:
1) Click to open two roses at a time to match identical colored flowers.
2) Arrange the photos for each step of the kidnapping plan.
3) Jump over the symbols so that only one is left remaining, only opposing symbols can eliminate each other. This puzzle is repeated with 2 more games that become increasingly more difficult.
4) Click on different components of flower arrangements on a horse statue to change the arrangements to mirror the clue shown.
5) Find the objects shown on Alice's Compass to reveal what happened by moving the compass until the necessary image is visible and clicking to select the image.
6) Grab strong ropes, toeholds and icicles to help Alice climb the cliff safely.
7) Touch the spots in the correct order to recreate the symbol, if you choose the wrong one you'll have to start over from the beginning.
8) Trap the spider by removing the web hexagons blocking it's way, the spider can only move to neighboring hexagons.
9) Use the clues to traverse the maze, choosing the paths based on the statues shown on your phone.
10) Remove all the symbols from the shield by selecting and dragging a chain of 3 or more identical adjacent tiles in a Match 3 variation game.
This Collector's Edition has 15 replayable Mini Games, 12 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Wallpapers, 4 Screensavers, 15 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 52 Movie Videos, 31 Morphing Objects, 37 Collectible Playing Cards, 20 Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! The map is very good and transports you fairly quickly which is excellent as you are running backwards and forwards all the time.
There are cards to find and further into the game they become a bit more difficult to spot. The last one I found near the end of the game was quite feint. The collectibles vary as they are all very different.
Every time you pick up a card or collectible a pop-up box appears on the left to let you know you have found them all in that scene.
The HOS are very good with a lot of interaction. I also liked the puzzles and mini games as they were not mind numbing, some were very easy and others not so much.
My two favourite characters are the Pelican and Cheshire, I loved his voice and laughed out loud at his quiff hairstyle. Show less

The Bridge to Another World series continues with this new game of shadows, shards, and possibly a case mistaken identity in an excellent new spin on the “Wonderland” story. Although my favorite game in the series is The Others, Alice in Shadowland is a huge improvement over the original game. The graphics are excellent, and when paired with excellent voice acting the Friends team has created a game that is sure to become a favorite of many gamers.
In the game you play as Alice who may or may not be the “real” Alice who once fell into Wonderland. As a wife and mother your life is busy but you still have a passion for jogging; however, on this particular morning run you are pushed into the water and that is where your journey into Shadowland begins. You will meet some rather familiar characters as you try to restore order and escape the realm that is now ruled by a tyrannical princess.
You will find an interactive map early in the game along with other tools, some of which fall into the gimmicky category. The tools are not difficult to use but somehow I don’t see the purpose of inserting these time-fillers into what, IMHO, could be an excellent game without them. You also have your cell phone that serves as a flashlight or a camera when needed.
The HOPS are very well designed and some items are difficult to find. I had to put my little brain cells to work in some of the scenes as it wasn’t always obvious what an item might be. The scenes vary in style with some list type scenes while others are in storybook format. The puzzles seem a bit easy to me but they were still fun to complete. Most of the puzzles have been seen before but with the developer’s spin that makes them unique to Shadowland.
Along with the regular extras that are included in most CE games we have collectible cards and then morphing objects to find. The collectible cards are easy to spot but the morphing objects are sometimes difficult to find. There is a pop-out on the left side of your screen that will let you know how many cards or objects are to be found in a particular scene.
The Alice in Wonderland theme has never been a favorite of mine but I think Shadowland shows a great deal of creativity for the Friends group. They have put together a game that has great gameplay and all of the elements I love in a game. As I write this, I am still trying to figure out who Alice might be but I am sure that I will find the answer as I play more of the game. For me the HOPs and puzzles are well-integrated into the game which makes the gameplay flow seamlessly into the storyline. Although I had not played the beta release for the game I knew after the first twenty minutes that Shadowland is the type of HOPA game I love. Many of the games I have enjoyed in the past have come from this group of Friends who continue to bring out some of the best HOPA games available and I know that Shadowland will continue that tradition. Even though I love the game, please try the demo to see if Shadowland is a game you will enjoy. Show less

Then in "The Others" your journey leads you into a realm accessed by a spell book that takes you thru a portal where you discover a magical compass to find your brother Jace who was cursed by a Witch as a child, now an adult you must lift the curse and save Jace and defeat her. Now in this latest edition of Bridge to Another World you are kidnapped during an ordinary day in the life of grown-up Alice, whose life suddenly makes a sharp turn when she stumbles upon a mysterious Hat. After falling off the bridge into the water you are transported into Shadowland (Wonderland). In the quest of good and evil you must find your shadow/ life force in this magical realm or you die in the real world. Destined also to help the Order of the Opposition of Shadowland to overcome the Ruthless Princess of Hearts! Find your shadow and defeat the Evil Princess of Hearts in this extraordinary adventure. I enjoyed every moment of this gorgeous game. The voices and sound/SFX are excellent and the storyline is fresh and compelling. I really didn't want to leave this beautiful and captivating realm. There is so much to do in this game and lots of challenges to keep you entertained for hours and hours. As fantasy games this one is WAY OUT THERE to say the least. For me, this is one aspect that makes Shadowland compelling. To say the developer has loosely based the game on Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is not much of a stretch.
In this version, our heroine ( Alice ) is abducted at the game beginning and transported to Shadowland. She meets Rabbitson who explains that an evildoer captures humans and transforms them to mere shadows of themselves for some nefarious reason. Then Rabbitson is captured and taken to another part of Shadowland. The game is replete with book characters such as the Hatter who in this case is not mad but is a sinister henchman to the Queen of Hearts
who is probably the ultimate baddie in the game.
I very much enjoyed the HO segments in the game. While traditional to most HOPAs, there are features, while not unique, different enough to make them very compelling.
I found none of the demo puzzles to be much of a challenge save for the third segment where Alice needs to defeat a spear wielding adversary.
There are collectible cards, hats, etc. for those who feel such items enhance games.
I like lots of the fantasy games, my favorite series being the Dark Parables. I don't recall much of the prior efforts in the Bridge to Another World games. Nevertheless, this game stands alone as a very solid and fun game. If players can suspend thoughts that Shadowland ventures really far afield from Alice in Wonderland, a good time is there for the offing. Show less
