In the original Magic Cards Solitaire, Mage Knoxford was mixing a potion that accidently blew up. When the smoke cleared, he soon realized that this reaction caused a portal to open, and a fairy was transported from the elven world. To return the fairy to her world, the two of them set forth on an adventure to find the necessary ingredients to transport her back to the elven kingdom. In a strange twist of fate, his latest experiment, has brought him to her elven world. There is a reason for him being here however, the fairy is in desperate need of his skills as an alchemist to save their Fountain of Life, and once again, they will need to find 21 ingredients to make this happen.

I can't tell you how many times I've replayed Magic Cards Solitaire, I've lost count, but I absolutely love the Higher/Lower solitaire game. In this game, however, they have changed a few details, one of which is that it's no longer a Higher/Lower variant, but several different types, starting with finding pairs that equal the sum of 13. I'm not sure yet what other kinds are available, because in the demo, the entire first chapter is offered as this type only. I couldn't find any option to choose the variant of solitaire, which would really have been awesome.

For every card removed, you earn Magic Drops, that are used to buy mostly number specific wild cards. You can also buy Jokers, Hints and Undo features, as well as bonus Hearts, Diamond, Spade and Club cards. Wild cards are also earned in some of the levels. Each level requires you to find an ingredient or item, starting with Books, but the goal is to receive a perfect score too, so you want to remove all cards if possible. You can replay the levels as often as you want to try to earn a perfect score.

Because Magic Cards Solitaire is one of my favorite Solitaire games, I'm definitely taking advantage of today's sale with this one. The reasons I enjoyed the first game are because you can choose the card style, one of which has very large numbers without graphics to make it easier, the levels themselves are fantastic because there are a ton of deck cards, but that's because there are a ton of cards to remove from the board (some stacks have 20-50 cards in them) and you can replay the level over and over until you receive a perfect score, which is a must have feature for me. I enjoyed playing this Sum 13 demo, so I'm going to find out what comes next, enjoy! Show less

Along the way there are four different solitaire games plus mini games. You have rounds of classic golf, classic match but you also have 13's and one that was new to me 10"s. My only hints to the developers are that it would be better to just click on the cards not have to drag them to each other and sometimes the required combos were almost impossible. This is a wonderful card game. There are many different types of games, solitaire golf matching, so you don't have just the one to play. I was waiting for a new game and glad this one came along.

This gives the game a lot of replayability, more so than most solitaire games where once you achieve the goal, you simply move on. You can also go back to replay a particular hand to improve your score.

Played this all the way to the satisfactory end. The last several sections set the completion goals high, so it becomes challenging to reach the goals or a perfect hand.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy to understand, satisfying and fun to play game. Show less

I am Always happy when a card game offers variation on the usual higher-lower solitaire. I particularly liked how the match 13 was worked out. The game functioned smooth on my laptop, so I don't understand the negative review about that part.

At last a solitaire game with more ways to play then the usual Golf ( higher or lower ). I have not been bored with this game as you have 3 ways of playing it. 13's, golf and pairs. Highly recommend it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game, which has a little bit of everything--sprinkled by a little magic.

The storyline is excellent, not overly verbose. No voiceovers, so you read at your own pace. Mercifully, the characters don't speak in long paragraphs.

The artwork is a bit simplistic-think Disney's Frozen. Still, it has a lot of charm that grows on you.

The game starts with the characters who talk a bit. Then you enter the forest maze and play the games. Each stepping stone has 7 levels.

There are 4 solitaire games: GOLF, matching pairs of the same value cards, make pairs of 13, and makes pairs of 10.

In between each stepping stone level, you get mini games such as rotate the rings to form an image, jigsaw puzzles, find differences between 2 pictures, find magic toads/octopus/etc, solitaire card games, mahjong, etc.

There are milestones/achievements and table of items acquired.

You can shop for upgrades with dollar coins.
There is only one mode of play--there is no time limit or timer. Each level can be replayed until you get 3 stars for the level. There is no choice of different face cards.

This is a fun and relaxing game to play without getting frustrated. It's a nice break from HO games.

One thing I wished is the ability to play the mini games on their own at any time after completing the game or any time you want. Other than that, this is a darn good game. Show less

It took me some time to discover how to play this game. But then - epiphany - I need to follow the Fairy !!! Wow - the road to variety of exciting game variants followed and opened up and led me further and further to the game. Or - is it a fairy or a pixie? Who knows, and who cares. Now I love this game.

Magic Cards 2 kept my interest because the game kept changing from match identical cards, to one up one down, then count 10 and count 13...I like the variety......story line seemed a little corny but it is the game that counts..game.not fast and furious or overly demanding.not too challenging but..good for some relaxing evenings...

I recommend this game!
