I buy a lot of BFG games, and I like match 3 ones, but I've been looking for one that is different. This one is different, in a good way. With respect to the reviewer above, I think it's appropriate for children and adults. I'm 63 and I enjoy it. It's nice and relaxing. I recommend it for everyone.

Ok, my Review title says it all. So on with the review. This is based on the demo only.

Easy match 3 game, no time limit, which is good for very young players.
Can adjust music and custom curser, but that is all

Ok, my Review title says it all. So on with the review. This is based on the demo only.

Easy match 3 game, no time limit, which is good for very young players.
Can adjust music and custom curser, but that is all
Music wasn`t too bad, didn`t pay that much attention to it, but wasn`t distracting at all

Typical match 3 game with different power-ups
1) match 5 items in a row or in an L shape and get either a magnet or a X- shape, these power-ups can`t be used by clicking on them, you have to move them to the spot you want to use them on
2) X-shape clears a row in the X-shape pattern, which you move the X to a specific area and then it clears the x-shape row
3) Magnet will remove a specific item, place it on the icon (such as a star) and it removes the item, handy in a hard to reach spot, such as a corner

Collect candy canes, gingerbread men and stars to buy in the gift shop for Santa

Match certain icons, such as scissors, watering can or a paint brush. When you have matched enough items, such as a watering can, you use that to water the muddy spot in the center of the board, that in turns opens up the center of the board and then you match those icons with others toclear the board
1) watering can, water the muddy spot
2) scissors, cut open the present(s)
3) paint brush, paint the little picture on the board

When you are done with certain levels, there are mini games to play
1) Hidden object game, so easy
2) follow the lines to finish painting an ornament
3) not really a game, but after you use the watering can,you can see where you new tree has been planted

When you get a certain amount of stars, candy canes and gingerbread men, you can but toys for Santa, such as trucks, robots,etc. Depending on the amount you have, you have a choice of 3 items in each category of different toys

Again, this game is very relaxing for no time limit, but not challenging at all for an adult. I will get this game for the little ones as it has a nice holiday feel and easy for them, there really isn`t that many games for real younger players. Chuzzle is about the only one some of them can play and for anyone who has played Chuzzle, this game is easier than that. Show less

At first glance this seems like an easy child game. It is not. It is more difficult than it seems. It does not have the power-ups we are all used to just in game power-ups which help a little but not a lot. Yes it is Christmas themed. Who cares? It is the game play I care about. And this is a good game to play.

I recommend this game!

First off, I want to warn those who have issues with flashing light, this may not be a game you would enjoy. I do not have that problem but the flashing light that would appear randomly was beginning to affect me.

Instructions were pretty vague. Not that match 3 needs a lot of instructions, but this one had some different things to it. Right at first when it said what had to be cleared (blue and yellow), I could not see the square color so I though it meant the item in the square...finally I was able to see the square color, and it didn't say anything about the stars.

There was no shuffle or notice there were no more moves so if the hint just didn't respond, that was your only clue. Didn't tell you the game was over either, just kept bringing the same game board until I figured out it must be the end and when I exited the game board, there was a big sign that the game was finished. Good grief.

Kind of a builder game as you had to fill Santa's sled and build a funky forest with trees. HOS were very easy. The game was basically without much need for strategy, although some levels could be tricky. I didn't play with a timer so it may have posed a bigger challenge if I had. Show less

christmas in febuary? would have been more fun in December. I played for 20 min and liked it.. there is lots to do - colorful , the music no so great considering the game is in santas village. ok for a match 3 . if I do buy this it will be in December when the kids are here . a nice holiday game

Even if you're okay with playing a leftover Christmas themed Match 3 game, I think you'll find Winter Magic Factory to be not so magical. It's an okay game, that is slow and clunky to navigate, and good luck reading the instructions that are shown in it's entirety before the first level, because it whips through each paragraph at Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer speed, Santa doesn't have enough time to put his seatbelt on between the instructions. No worries, if you didn't read fast enough, you can click on the question mark hidden at the bottom to read it at a Mrs. Claus pace.

The goals are simple, make matches of at least 3 identical holiday themed tiles over all yellow and blue plates and collect enough of each levels "special items" to unlock the middle section such as scissors to cut the rope. Large matches and T or L shaped matches will earn you a power up on the board, and you can remove Gingerbread men and Candy canes (referred to as lollypops in that exact spelling) with a single click. Some tiles are blocked with different obstacles as you progress to make the levels more challenging.

There are 22 different mini games available and you can decorate a tree in the Magical Garden as well as collecting different shaped Christmas Trees within the Sledges category. For me personally, I found the game slow and boring with nothing new or exciting to offer, I do BELIEVE that the elves might enjoy this game, who knows, Merry Christmas. Show less
