I thought the game was a bit of a slow starter, not that I minded much as I tend to play rather slowly but it changed halfway through the demo. The scenery and voices were good, and the music wasn't intrusive.
The HOS are a bit different, mainly just lists or silhouettes, but some of the items morph and others are hidden - I really liked them because they were more challenging than the ones we have recently been given.
The puzzles/mini games were varied and appropriate to the storyline - none of them too difficult.
There is a Helper and I winced as soon as I heard her voice at the beginning, thankfully though the only time she speaks is when you use her to collect something and all she says is "On It".
Every scene has small animals, and birds flying around, I particularly liked the hedgehog who squeaks and rolls into a ball every time you hover your cursor over it.
Collectibles:
42 Crests which come in different colours, they go into a book in the Achievements section which can be viewed in the More Info section on the Main Menu.
16 Hats - so far they are all different and easy to spot.
8 Ghosts - the only two I have found so far were both morphing and as I am halfway through the game I think I've missed some.

Give it a go, you might enjoy it. Show less

This is Brave Giant's third installment in the Queens Quest Saga and developers have created a spellbinding adventure with a unique story twist. I've played a lot of different characters in a lot of different games. I have been thrown into the role of just about every kind of Detective imaginable and Scientist, Hero/Heroin, and the list goes on. What began with Queens Quest Tower of Darkness, where a Prince named Henrik makes a deal with a Dark Force, resulting in a debt that must be paid with his first born child. You embark on a journey as Princess & Mother to the Tower of Darkness and save your abducted child. You then play the role of an Alchemist with shapeshifting abilities in Queens Quest II tasked with solving the murder of the King's head of security and trusted friend where you must find who is responsible and save your Kingdom. Now in this latest installment of Queens Quest you are on an unusual quest. A quest to become a true, certified alchemist! You’ve been training for this day your entire life, ever since you were left at the school’s front door when you were a baby. You’re just one final exam away from victory. Surely nothing strange will happen today. Nothing like, say, an evil demon made of smoke crashing through the window and attacking the headmaster? End of Dawn is a casual adventure game that takes place in the most prestigious of fantasy realms. It’s a little tough not to compare End of Dawn to another popular wizard at a wizarding school. You know the one I’m talking about. Fortunately, the similarities are only surface deep, as Queen’s Quest 3 is all about puzzle solving and alchemy, two things that quite naturally go together. Your time in End of Dawn will be split between exploration centric adventure scenes and some nice hidden object diversions. You’ll get a surprising amount of freedom to roam back and forth, searching for items that can be used to open doors or remove other obstacles standing in your way. Many of these items are interactive, meaning you’ll need to click and tinker with them to find out their true nature, occasionally even using other inventory items on them. The helper referred to in the adventure is a fairy, non-intrusive and not very vocal but helpful. Hidden object scenes come at a fast pace, which isn’t such a bad thing since they’re quite entertaining to solve. Most of them stick to the standard text list format with one or two interactive items marked in a darker color. Just search, click and collect, you know the drill! Mini-games manage to outshine the hidden object scenes with a glorious array of variety. Ever tried playing a movement-based isometric fantasy puzzle with hot air balloons and clouds? Queen’s Quest 3 has that, and it’s just one of several wholly engaging mini-games you get to complete. Queen’s Quest 3: End of Dawn doesn’t take a lot of newly innovative chances with its design or gameplay content. It wins major points with me for its interesting story, like the previous editions. The puzzles and mini-games reach out and grab you from the start, saving an otherwise ordinary hidden object game from the dustbin. Other reviewers include CE bling so no need to revisit that. I do have to give this the 5 star rating because Brave Giant held their own with the continuation of this wonderful series. I generally do not like to review an entire game based solely on demo, I played this jewel in it's entirety. I love the series and look forward to more releases. Cheers! Show less

A few other 5 star reviewers loved everything about the game as I did, so I need not repeat it. I do think it is a good storyline, not an horrendous amount of evil engulfing us. But enough to add a good dose of danger and excitement to keep the interest up and the fun element of magic and potions to save the day and the kingdom from gargoyles and evil-doers.
The characters, colors, graphics were all excellent. Games and puzzles were fun, challenging, different. It is a good, light adventure game that provides a break from the really heavy-duty subject matter that we probably play more often than not.
IMO, this game is suitable for all ages and levels of skill. And the magic should appeal to all the Harry Potter fans out there.

OVERVIEW: Congratulations Eliana Marcius! You are now a full-fledged alchemist! Unfortunately, your first assignment will require you to save the magical world in this 5-star game. The Dragon Lord has resurrected and is using his gargoyles to attack the kingdom. To save the kingdom you need to locate three Dragon Crystals. However, that won’t be easy as they are protected by an evil queen.
Since I don’t play this type of game, I am assessing this game based on the quality of its construction. This game should appeal to beginning and intermediate gamers, children, those who love Harry Potter books and movies, fantasy games, or those who love magic. The story is based on a “Harry Potter” theme with your base of operation the Zora Academy of Alchemy. You will create potions and use an amulet to give you powerful magical abilities. Fight gargoyles, a dragon and a witch as you try to restore the kingdom. The graphics are breathtaking. There are quite a few collectibles including crests, hats, and figurines. There are morphing objects as well.
HELPERS: You do get a helper fairy, Dahlia, from the Fae Realm. She has a high-pitched nasal voice which I found irritating. However, in the demo, she is used infrequently. This is my only complaint about the game. You will also use your graduation present from your mentor, a magic amulet, frequently in the game. Each time you use it you will play a Simon Says puzzle. It will help defeat the evildoers in the game.
HOP SCENES: The are creatively designed. The scenes are lists of items and silhouette in the demo. There is a scene which has the player search for items in a stain glass window (used frequently by another developer in most of their games). In at least one scene there are morphing objects. You can play a matching game in lieu of the scenes.

PUZZLES: The puzzles are easy. I found none which was even slightly difficult. They include several types of matching puzzles. There are several storybook puzzles which are more like HOP scenes than true puzzles. In those puzzles, you search for items while listening to a tale about the kingdom. There are a couple of assembly puzzles in which you create a potion.
LEVELS: Casual, Advance, Expert, Custom

REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS
The main game is about Eliana Marcius who must stop the Dragon Lord and the bonus game is about helping the fairy world which is in trouble from a gargoyle.
This game is perfect to play with younger family members as the story line is easy to follow and the mini-games are easy to play. Its quite a long game too. There is:
* Casual, Advanced, Expert and Custom modes;
* Voiceovers (with dialogue);
* Interactive map;
* Objectives book;
* Find 16 witches hats, 42 crests and 8 ghosts (main game only)
* 21 Achievements (bronze, silver and gold);
* Dahlia, a tiny fairy, to help you.
The graphics are good, with colours being easy on the eye. In most scenes items you need are clear to see and grab. The music is orchestral and easy to listen to.
The hidden object games are interactive straightforward, silhouette and finding 20 specific objects. These also had morphing objects in them as well, which I loved. Now, I found these had quite a good challenge to them as there were always those last couple of elusive items to find, some of which took me a while.
The mini-games are very easy to play and you can get back to the game pretty quickly. However, I enjoyed doing them.
You have Dahlia, a tiny fairy, to help you get items out of your reach. She's not intrusive or chatty and is just there when you need her.
Throughout the game you have to find 16 witches hats, 42 crests and 8 ghosts. I found the witches hats and ghosts easy to find, however the 42 crests have more challenge. Some scenes are quite fully detailed and it took me a while to find some of the crests. Get them all and you get achievements.
All up the game and bonus took me a good 6 hours or so. Its a long game and I played it throughout the week.
Overall, an enjoyable game with plenty to do. I love Brave Giant and have all their hidden object games.

This certainly was a short demo! I normally love fantasy games about dragons and gargoyles, but End of Dawn just didn't hit the five star mark with this game. It's just more of the same, baby is saved from evil, grows up at the Zora Academy of Alchemy, sixteen years later, baby passes Alchemy exam just in the nick of time, baby now must save the Academy because for some reason, all other students and professors don't qualify for the job. It's probably because baby (guess she's no longer a baby, she's Eliana Marcus) Elaina was the only student who received a personal assistant in the form of a fairy Dahlia, and a magical Alchemy Amulet, talk about favoritism! I liked the demo, I just didn't love it, I just wish it had some backbone to it.
The Magic Amulet allows you to use it's powers of protection after playing a game of "repeat the sequence" and the Fairy will help you reach items only a fairy can accomplish. In this Collector's Edition version, there are are 42 hidden Crests, 16 collectible Hats, and 8 Ghosts to find, all of which give you stories about their origins and background. There are also 7 different Achievements to earn Gold, Silver and Bronze star categories.
The Hidden Object Scenes are basic Interactive List finds, each containing a Morphing Object in this CE version. I did enjoy the Stained Glass Hidden Object Scene, but there's nothing new or out of the ordinary so far.
The Mini Games are decent, but tend to be on the easy breezy side. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Use the clue to figure out the lock combination.
2) Follow the recipe instructions correctly to unfreeze the fairy.
3) Alchemy Amulet puzzles require you to repeat increasingly more difficult sequences.
4) Match the color of the symbol tokens with the color of the lines, using the flame points as reference.
5) Use directional arrows to move the balloon through the map, avoiding obstacles.
This Collector's Edition has 6 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, replayable Mini Games and Hidden Object Scenes, Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 7 Achievements to earn gold, silver and bronze awards, 42 Hidden Crests, 16 Collectible Hats with origins, 8 Collectible Ghosts with origins, Cutscenes, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!
