JUST AS MUCH FUN AS THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION AT HALF THE PRICE

Kevin and his friends have set out on a magical journey to find magic armor to save the cursed King. Of course the Kingdom is full of obstacles at every turn to make this an epic journey adventure. I love this game just as much as the first, although it does tend to be a bit on the easy side as far as Time Management games go. You can play in a Timed or Relaxed, untimed mode, which is a feature I believe the first Fables of the Kingdom didn't offer.

The graphics are very well done in this somewhat easy Time Management/Strategy game. Each level has a specific set of goals to accomplish, to receive up to three golden stars. You will have to use strategy when constructing buildings, so that you will have enough resources to complete other tasks.
Roads must be cleared of pits, stones, and branches, broken carts must be disassembled and bridges repaired. You will have to collect food for needed energy to complete these tasks as well. Farms can be built to produce more food, Sawmills to produce wood, Gold mines for funds and Libraries to learn various spells. The spells are actually bonuses that when fully charged can be used to speed up the workers, make construction faster, or receive more resources. When you upgrade buildings you can get more workers or a larger supply of resources. The tasks are clear, and fairly easy to achieve, they are listed at the top of the screen so you can see your progress easily.

In the Collector's Edition version, there are Achievements available to earn, some of them have three different levels to achieve a bronze, silver and gold trophy, there are 6 Wallpapers and Extra Levels, but in my opinion, these extras are hardly worthy of the extra price, so I was happy to see the Standard Edition was finally available. I like the game very much, because it is like a new version of My kingdom for a princess, which was my very first game from BFG!!!! It makes fun and I am afraid to get addicted!

I love all TM games (almost, there are a few stinkers) so the 5 star rating. My only request would be to have another level higher for more advanced players. But all in all it is ALWAYS great to get a decent TM game and this fits the bill. There were a few levels I had to play over so some challenge and the characters are delightful. Enjoy this game all and PLAY ON!

Not a fan of the first one whatsoever, so I went into this with low expectations. The first one is frustrating beyond words and to this day I've not completed every level in gold time. So for those who may think this 2nd installment is 'too easy', stick with the first one.

But enough about the first. I'm on level 31 and I think I've only had to replay two levels to get gold and I got them the second time. I don't consider this game to be too easy (some may) mainly because in most levels I BARELY make the gold, but I make it nonetheless. I think the developers clearly put a lot of time into how the timer works on this installment. I can't tell you how many times I've been completing the last task and I hear final 'ticking of the clock' near the gold time limit and think the worker won't complete in time and I'll have to replay it. I think that only happened in those two levels I mentioned.

I like that there are lots of achievements and I've come across no 'bugs'.

If I am to offer any critique of this game its that the music and workers voices are repetitive and get to be annoying, but thats nothing to really gripe about. Show less

Two great features I wish other developers would adopt include the buildings and multi-click. The buildings produce resources automatically. Workers don't have to go and collect. The multi-click operation lets you click the next item before the worker gets back to the town hall. You still have to wait for a worker to come and collect but by clicking as soon as a path opens saves time. The SE works well without any glitches I found. I have a Win7 64 bit Acer Aspire laptop. I don't do wallpapers and such so I'm very happy with the SE version. I played relaxed mode but will play again timed. Overall, I recommend the game to TM/Strategy players tired of HO angst. Show less

Its quite a nice variation on this type of game, which I enjoy. But its incredibly easy. I played for 30 mins without having to think or repeat a level. Bleeeug!

I don't recommend this game.
