After the death of John Wolfgrin, his entire family vanished. The only person left to tell a tale is the maid, and the things she's witnessed within the mansion, has left her nearly insane. John may have unwillingly released an evil entity when he discovered the key to unlocking a powerful Mayan tribal necklace, powered by the moon. This is what happens when you dabble with the unknown, but the bigger question is, can you restore the Moonlight Necklace in time to save the Wolfgrin family?
The Moonlight Necklace will allow you to travel through portals of each family member's imagination, their own personal little shop of horrors imaginations. These are worlds made up of their deepest fears, and let me tell you, little Chloe's fears are over the top, I'm almost afraid to move on to brother Ben! I have to tell you, I was totally bored with this game in the beginning few scenes of the mansion, but once I entered Fear Fest, it was game on! Each scene has a Hidden Crescent Moon, and they have done an incredible job blending them into the scenery. Each scene also has a Morphing Object, and again, they aren't at all obvious, you will have to concentrate to find most of them.
The Hidden Object Scenes vary with different types such as Interactive List finds, Keywords in Sentence finds, Progressive Interactive finds and Silhouetted Shape finds. Some were very interactive and layered, the only downside was that some scenes are repeated.
The Mini Games are far too easy in my opinion, and many seem to be the same variance. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Assemble the totem on the center pole, lower parts can't be placed on upper totem parts.
2) Rotate circle discs to complete the image.
3) Choose symbols in the correct order.
4) Choose portraits in the correct order.
5) Select the crosshairs when they are in the green zone.
6) Move notes into correct positions, red is incorrect, yellow is close, green is correct.
7) Select circles when they are in green moving zones.
8) Close all of the bats' wings, clicking on one may affect others.
9) Swap masks to match their silhouettes.
10) Arrange dolls so that their are no matching ones horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
This Collector's Edition has 12 Achievements to earn, 37 Morphing Objects, 40 Collectible Crescent Moons, 4 Music Soundtracks, 10 Wallpapers, 10 Sketches, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Show less

Map - given to you in the first few minutes of the game and it transports quickly.
HOS - they vary in style.
Puzzles - easy to do in the demo but some become harder as the game progresses.
12 Achievements
37 Morphing Objects in each scene and all different, although some of them take quite a while before they change.
37 Moon Collectibles - initially they were easy to find as they were fairly bright but later in the game they blend into the scenery.
I experienced a bit of a lag with the cursor quite a lot of times especially when trying to pick up a Moon or a Morph which was a bit annoying.
My review is based on playing over half the game. Show less

Deadly Moonlight is the third game in the Stranded Moonlight series. Here in BFG game land we all know that amulets and artifacts can be deadly and this is certainly the case in Deadly Moonlight. As the game begins we see Professor Wolfgrin who has recently returned from an expedition holding a strange necklace. As he examines the runes he notices something very unusual as his skin is now covered in the ancient symbols. Fast forward as you, playing the game as a detective (what else) arrive on the scene just in time to see the maid run from the mansion screaming "he is alive" before collapsing into the arms of the inspector who has called you into the case.
Graphics represent the late 1800s with an appropriate bit of mistiness included. The voice overs are quite excellent and add a sense of authenticity to the game. There is a custom level included in gameplay options but, IMHO, it is rather useless. If I am going to have a custom option I happen to like realistic hint and skip times as I think 15 seconds is rather long for the lowest available hint and skip times. Okay, I am impatient and when I think I need a hint I don’t want to waste 15 seconds while the meter recharges. Your tools include an interactive map that is given to you early in the game. There is also the Moonlight Necklace that will open portals to different worlds.
The HOP scenes are very good with a nice variety included in the mix. I did find some items difficult to spot since I think the representations of some items were not that good. For the most part though, I didn’t struggle finding the items needed. Puzzles were very, very easy and could really be completed on auto pilot without having to really think about them – push this button, move that button, turn or spin this, that or the other. There are times that I don’t mind having easy puzzles, particularly if the storyline is good and I want to move forward without spending 30 minutes solving a puzzle. Overall there was nothing difficult with either the HOPs or the puzzles so if you want a game with a lot of challenge you won’t find it here.
If you prefer the CE version of a game, this one includes: Collectible Moons and Morphing Objects to locate in each scene. There are achievements to earn, Wallpapers, Sketches, Music, Strategy Guide, and Bonus Chapter.
In spite of a few scary moments the game is still fun and not as frightening as I thought it might be given my clown phobia. I can deal with a lot of creepy things in games but must admit that I HATE clowns. I have no idea why I have a clown phobia but I haven’t liked them since I was a child. My parents learned very early that they shouldn’t take me to a carnival or have me interact in any way with clowns – friendly or otherwise! That being said, the clowns aren’t as terrifying as I thought so I can breathe again and forge ahead. I actually am enjoying the game because the storyline is quite good. Even though at times the graphics might appear a bit misty, there are other times when they are crystal clear. I found myself really enjoying the game, yes, even the Circus of Shadows because the game is very good. We all have different things we like and dislike in games, so please try the demo to see if Stranded Dreamscapes Deadly Moonlight is a game you will enjoy. Show less

Story: Read Penmom's synopsis please. She did it good.
H0GS: There is a variety, between silhouettes, list, and some had puzzles.
Mini games: A nice little variety. Truly enjoying them so far. The furniture one I had to look at the WT for help.
Music: I think it fits right with the game. Spooky along with the game.
Graphics: Awesome! Nice and creepy, just the way I like it.
Map: Has the pink exclamation points to let you know you have a task there. Blue arrow tells you are there. It's a jump map.
All in all I think it's a good game and I do want to see the rest of the story. Kudos to the team. I recommend this game. Show less

If people would just learn to leave artifacts, locked-away secrets and magic spells alone!! But I guess that would be the end to our Big Fish thrills.
The Moonlight Necklace was a mystical tool that took me on trips through portals, into the minds of family members, some of which should never be traveled. One especially, was pretty crazy. I know these are just made-up stories, but even in real life is any power or knowledge worth losing yourself or your family to eternal darkness?
I really liked the variety of mini games and the fact that they didn't break my brain, trying to solve them. As always I loved the interactive HOGs, the more the merrier! I don't mind that some are repeated scenes, I just like looking for everything. The morphs were not so easy to find which made it more fun. With the collectibles and achievements, this was a pretty good CE. The map was good. Did not like the custom settings this time. They didn't let us decrease the hint and skips times low enough, IMO. Spoiled? Maybe!
I loved the appropriately represented graphics and colors. They suited this particular era in time quite well. The characters were great and the voices were excellent. Stories depicting the 1800s and earlier are usually my favorites.
I'm on a roll with 5-star ratings lately!

6 Chapters plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 50 Pages
OVERVIEW: Are you ready for a creepfest? Be warned! This game has scenes with creepy clowns, rivers oozing with blood, fanged snake jumping out at you, blood dripping statues, large spiders, and bats - essentially, your worst nightmare! Detective! Keep a stiff upper lip and return to 1880 London in a period piece of horror! Professor John Wolfgrin, archaeologist, returned from an expedition in search of a lost temple, bringing back with him a mysterious moonlight necklace. He died shortly after his return, and his family has now disappeared as well. However, is the professor dead? What mysteries are tied to the moonlight necklace he brought back? Each bead holds a hidden portal to a world of horror! First stop on your destination– Terror world! Be careful of that necklace! It seems to feed on the fears of the people involved.
This is an excellent, frightful game with a wonderful story reminiscent of the English horror novels of that period. If you have a phobia about clowns, blood, snakes or other denizens of the world of horror, you will probably not want to play this game. However, if you like a mildly scary horror game, this should fill the bill. The HOP scenes and puzzles are excellent. The collectibles are numerous and include moons and morphing objects. The moons are easy to locate, the morphing objects I found more difficult. The graphics are beautifully rendered and realistic looking, although in some places the scenes are somewhat blurry.
HOP SCENES: They are varied; however, there are more lists of items than any other format. There is a cleverly created multiple-step one which has a storybook format. First you search for items listed in in BOLD letters, followed by a FROG scene, after which is a search and replace scene and finally a search and replace scene in which items are in sequential order. Quite creative! One of the scenes is FRIGHTENING! It involves searching for items on a scary clown. Very creepy! There is no game to play in lieu of the scenes, which is something this developer should consider for future games.
PUZZLES: The puzzles are all easy. They vary in type. There are several sequence puzzles in which locating items or performance of activities must be in correct order. There are two physical puzzles which involve some hand-eye coordination in either shooting a door or balancing yourself on a tightrope. These puzzles require clicking on a moving bar when it enters a “green” zone. There are a couple of chestnuts (age-old puzzles which have been around forever!). One of these is an assembly puzzle in which you move pieces of a statue from left to right using a middle pole to place the pieces. The other is a switch puzzle in which you must place five (5) statutes so that only one of each is in each row and column.

LEVELS: Dream, Nightmare, Night Terror, Custom
Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS:
Map is provided as you play the game

I absolutely loved this game for many reasons - I'm not good at technical reviews about games because I don't play for that reason - this review will be based purely on what I saw, heard and felt...
Firstly, the graphics - they were top notch, very detailed and clear (bit too clear in some instances if I'm honest - those masks are a bit nasty!)
Secondly, the music - normally I turn this down because for some reason developers always pick some classical orchestral thing to illustrate the mood of a game - however, this one I actually had going on a lower but still audible level - have to say, it wasn't bad. It didn't intrude into the game play and was actually quite catchy in places.
Thirdly, the content - well what can I say, the game itself is reminiscent of the Redemption Cemetery games in format, in that you go into a family's worse fears/nightmares and help them out - one big difference, in RC games you only get 3, in this game you got a whopping 5 (plus a bonus game). There is an element of back and forth handily helped by the interactive map. As in the title, a couple of times the game did make me jump - not saying anything about where and when - you've been warned. There are morphers and moons to collect in the scenes, some of which are almost impossible to see.
The mini-games were ok as well, but as I was playing quite late at night and wanted to finish, I skipped quite a few.
All in all a great game that has a long play time as well. The bonus game is also of a decent length. Show less
I recommend this game!
