you are chasing down different people that have received a chimera with their picture and name on it. it all has to do with the execution of an innocent man 12 years ago. you need to help people along the way to get things you need. at the end you take on the person behind all this. good hint system. i played on the custom level.
I recommend this game!

An older style game compared to most released in the last year or so, although to be honest, I'm not sure how I'd define "older style" -- maybe it's the hand-drawn, less cluttered artwork. Maybe it's that I didn't have to keep clicking the hint button to know where to look or what to do.

There's certainly a lot that's familiar, like getting together the parts to hook up a fire hydrant while the damsel continues to scream for help, and there are some familiar-looking puzzles to solve. (I skip all puzzles, so I don't care whether they're unique and complex or not, and thankfully there's a custom option to shorten the refill time.)
I enjoyed the brighter, more realistic colors instead of all the blue/ purple/ black/ hideous reds of many of the recent games. I don't remember the music sound track, but the voices seemed authentic and well acted, other than the screaming damsel which was a little over the top. Ha! The sound effects are really nice, too, and well done -- wind, leaves rustling, footsteps, keys in locks, etc.
Sometimes you just want to play a game that's prettily drawn, doesn't strain your brain, and won't give you nightmares. For me, this is that just kind of game.
I suggest you also check the reviews of the Collector's Edition, and as always, try before you buy. Show less

Review based on completed game. What I liked about his game: the outdoors, the evening light, plenty of nature included amongst the town/village dwellings. The houses themselves were furnished in an old style and many buildings had an ornate, centuries-old appearance. A lot of the scenes felt open and spacious. HOPS were enjoyable to play of which there were 8-10.

I don't normally play Chimera games, but I'd enjoyed Chimeras-Blinding Love, so that made me take a look at this one. The story unfolded in a timely fashion, but it wasn't a game I could play in one sitting.
It's a pretty safe and enjoyable game to play, if you're waiting to play something a bit better. Show less

This game is not the best made, but it isn't the worse either. I played this game in a beta test which seems like ages ago, and just had to see if they got it fixed. Some they did ... some they didn't. All in all, if you are looking for a nice way to spend an afternoon this game offers a relaxing way to do it.

i liked the graphics in this game. They weren't the usual type we see. They might be computer animated, but they appear to have the touch of a human hand. They are well drawn and the colors added so much to the scenes. Music wasn't at all intrusive and added quite a bit. Effects, of course, also made the scenes live and were actually pretty. I really liked the voice overs. Very well done. I was a bit surprised at the quality of the game coming from one of my favorite developers, but as I looked at the credits I didn't recognize any of the names. Yes, I am one that looks at credits. I have found my favorite games had the same producer. There are some out of place words in the text and just a couple little things, but nothing to be a deal breaker.
The challenge was right up my alley. I did the majority of the mini games and that is very unusual for me. That means they weren't complicated and I actually understood what I was suppose to do. In other words, they were easy. If you are a die hard mini game fanatic, you probably won't care for this game at all. Hidden objects were well done and varied. Again, not all that difficult, but challenging enough. Nothing new I could see in the mini games or the hidden objects. Just a few variations on the same things.
Others will go in depth about the story, so I won't bore you with the details. However, I did get lost in the story. I have no idea where Scott came into the picture. I'm sure he was mentioned early on in the game, but darned if I could remember it. Other than that, it's a decent story without ghosts, goblins and things that go bump in the night. That was such a relief and one of the reasons I made the purchase.
Give the demo a try.. If you are looking for an easy going game, with mini games you can do, I think you'll like this one. Show less

When Chimeras released their first game of the series, Tune of Revenge, it was an epic game that had an original storyline, and fantastic graphics. The proof is in the BF pudding, and it received rave reviews, averaging 4.7 Stars out of 5! Since then, Chimeras games have been average games with average ratings, The Signs of Prophecy 3.9, Cursed and Forgotten 3.8, Mortal Medicine 3.9. They are likeable games, but not epic games like Tune of Revenge, there's nothing about this game that sets it apart from the others, an easily forgettable game. One thing I've noticed with this series is that the graphics aren't as good as they were in the first and second episodes, but the biggest mistake this series has made, is with the Chimeras themselves. Actually it's with the lack of the Chimeras, Mortal Medicine only mentioned the Chimeras in the entire demo, and Mark of Death is centered around Chimeras Markers! Who cares about a token of death when a flying 3 headed beast could get the job done better, a much more interesting plot don't you think?
Twelve years ago, Thomas was found guilty of murdering two Royal Guards when he stole a Royal Relic. Thomas was executed, and his wife died shortly afterwards after giving birth to their baby. Now, the people involved in the case, are receiving the Chimera Mark of Death token, and one by one are meeting their demise. You're services are requested to solve this suspicious case after the Prosecutor of the case, Victor, received the Marker and perished shortly afterward. Now the Judge is about to be Judged, when he too receives a Marker, can you find the person responsible in time?
The Hidden Object Scenes aren't really that impressive, but they are varied with Interactive List finds, Uncovering Pairs of items, and i new type that was the most interesting of all of them, Filling in the Blanks by finding objects that fit into the sentence logically.
The Mini Games are plentiful, and easily solved on the first attempt. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Use up and down arrows to bend a hairpin to push pins to the red line.
2) Match pulse points dots.
3) Repeat the sequence demonstrated.
4) Untie knots by sliding to end of the rope in correct order.
5) Rotate cylinder segments to create a pattern.
6) Rotate and drag bells along a track to their color coded slots.
7) Rotate disk rings to complete the picture.
8) Swap tiles to create color coded lines that don't cross each other.
9) Swap vertical picture tiles.
10) Shoot 5 targets when the marker is in green zone.
11) Move blocks to clear a path for the gold key block.
12) Flip over two dowels at a time to match identical numbers.
The Collector's Edition has 26 Morphing Objects, 12 Collectible Magic Cards, 48 Hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces to assemble 4 twelve piece Screensavers, 8 Wallpapers 12 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, a Secret Room, 21 Achievements to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter. Try Tune of Revenge instead! Show less

I don't know what happened but this fell to a 2 star rating from the CE version.
Same game play as the CE but the fun wasn't there.
Graphics are still nice and a touch above average but that is where the good ends.
I found myself falling into the now popular game play of the back and forth, back and forth and so on just to find "things" and to heck with the story. I can't see how this helps

I found myself falling into the now popular game play of the back and forth, back and forth and so on just to find "things" and to heck with the story. I can't see how this helps the game or helps the story along. It doesn't.
The characters are fairly believable but, again, add nothing to the game.
There isn't much to say good about this one other than the colors were nice and that's about it.
If you like the now familiar jumping back and forth for no real reason then this game is for you, if you don't then pass over this one.
I can't recommend it this time despite what my CE review says but play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!
