Welcome to Timmy's nightmare, welcome to another creepy Mad Head game! Welcome to Timmy's nightmare, welcome to another creepy Mad Head game! I don't think this game is as epic as Subject 360, and the storyline is very similar to Stranded Dreamscapes: The Prisoner, but MH knows how to put the mad into madness with just a touch of twisted insanity and warped visions of a nightmarish realm!
Timmy's father is a doctor who specializes in dreams, but has been unable to bring Timmy back to reality. Aunt Christine however, specializes in nightmares, and has agreed to enter Timmy's nightmare, and help him fight the demons that are haunting him. There's just one problem, Jimmy doesn't want to leave, until he completes his "dare"
In this Collector's Edition, there are 31 Collectible Hidden Signs, some of which are very well hidden. There are also 19 Morphing Objects, one in each of the Hidden Object Scenes. I prefer the Morphs in each location, not in the HOP's, but Mad Head games seem to only offer them within the HOP's on all of their games. Honestly, this game doesn't have enough of a wow factor as far as the extra's go, to warrent the price difference, but today's sale takes care of that problem!
The Hidden Object Scenes are far and few between, and consist of Multiple finds, (one of which allows you to earn several achievements) there are Keywords in Sentence finds and Listed items as well, and in this CE version, each HOP has a Morphing Object to find. The Morphs are very well done, and not very obvious, making them a fairly decent challenge.
The Mini Games range from easy to medium difficulty, so far nothing really frustrating offered. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Press buttons in the correct sequence, according to the clue located somewhere in the room.
2) Select a token to move it to an adjacent empty slot, to arrange tokens in the correct rows.
3) Select misplaced objects and return them to the scene correctly.
4) Stop the crosshairs when it passes over the window handle.
5) Select the numbered tiles on the board to light them up, so the sum of the lit up tiles equal that shown on each column and row.
6) Swap and rotate tiles to complete the image on three different puzzles.
7) Select and jump coins into an empty slot to remove them.
8) Repeat the sequence of statues lighting up.

Madhead definitely makes excellent quality games overall, but sometimes we wonder if sequels will live up to the original. Wonder no more, this game is fun, quirky, original and creative. Excellent graphics, scenes, & music, with decent challenge and storyline.
Very good effort was put into HOs so you don't get same-o, and there are new puzzles as well. There's a good balance between the two, about 50/50. At some point in adventure, you get a choice how to proceed with occasional "ouch!" results, so think wisely.
There are Madhead symbols in every scene, and you can go back to find any you missed in Extras. Same with morphs, which are in all the HOs.
CE bling includes achievements, collectible Madhead symbols, a mega-HO for getting all said symbols, and a jigsaw puzzle. I'm thinking you have to get 3 stars on every HO to open the jigsaw but I could be wrong. Also included are replayable HOs plus the usual.
The bonus game extends the protagonist's story and lasted about 45 minutes. The main game in hard mode is about 3 hours. Therefore my only complaint about this game is length; I wanted it to last longer!
Is it worth a CE? Oh, yes. The high quality production values that continued into the bonus game definitely made this sequel worth it. I was sorry when it ended. Show less

I loved this game and wished it would have gone on longer.
When I give a review, which isn't often, it's short but to the point.
This game had a little of everything and I don't usually buy CE because by the time I'm over playing the original game I'm usually bored.
Not with this one.
There were a few hard to believe issues with actions to take, but all in all great fun.

While I have only played the demo, I have already purchased the game. Madhead is one of my favorite Devs, and this game does not disappoint! It has exceptional graphics, and the story line is really good!
With all the games on the market these days, coming up with unique puzzles and HOS has got to be difficult, but MH has accomplished it in this game.
As always, try the demo for yourself.
I recommend this game!

When you plug in the game just to play a game, you actually enjoy it! When you play a game, not to review it, but to have fun, that is what you actually get!
Yes, some of the games are not fun or as good as others, that is to be expected, not some sort of big surprise or result of devs.
When you have played 100's of games, your expectations are far beyond a realistic expectation and ratings become useless to those of us who just like to have fun! Especially to new players!
THIS GAME IS FUN and one of the best in some time.
I hope to see more like this. And I hope to see more realistic ratings based on the game itself so that when I come to buy a game, there is an honest rating that I can measure it by. Something I have not been able to do for nearly a year now!!!
Put on the headphones, turn off the lights and have fun! That is what this game is all about and you will enjoy it, just as much as I have. Show less

The whole dreamscape concept in this instance was a little hokey, IMO. But it made a good story, a pretty involved storyline. However, nothing made me jump in fear, the monster didn't appear long enough in the demo to cause any kind of reaction, the TV ghost was a mere annoyance, and I saw no inexplicit content..
I was very intrigued with this dare Timmy got himself into and was hoping to discover his reward, if he conquered the challenge. Although not bored with the game, I expected more action. I found it to be rather calm and quiet for the most part. But this is only what I perceived in the demo, maybe I didn't make good progress. There may have been utter chaos waiting in another room ,,, but my time ended!
The graphics were mostly a darkish atmosphere, to add to the nightmare setting. Not much to see or hear in regards to the characters, But then, Timmy's dream required a certain quietness and solitude.
I thought the games were unique and pretty challenging, I really enjoyed them but had to skip a couple. They took more time and thought than expected. HOPs were all excellent and a couple of them were unique and interesting. Loved the one matching the objects to the ink blots.
I can see where the developers put their talents into high gear. Their quality creativity shows throughout what I was able to see.in my 90 minutes. The efforts certainly make this Maze game worthy of a 5-star rating.
But it just lacked the action, colorful visuals and interesting characters that I look for in a game. Even though it is a no for me, I'm absolutely sure it will thrill so many of you! And the variety of game modes (I like their titles), makes it possible for anyone to join Timmy in his courageous super-dare quest.

The third Maze will be a special one: You will enter a nightmare.
This is on the demo only:
You are Christine, a psychologist, special field: dreams. Your brother Stephen has called you, since his son needs help. He is physically healthy but in a coma, some force seems holding him in this state, he cannot wake up. So, you must enter his nightmare. Stephen has developed a device in form of a helmet, that implants you into Timmy’s nightmare. Putting on the helmet, you dive into Timmy’s dreamscape. You can still communicate with your brother but mainly you are on your own now. First station: Timmy’s room as it appears in his nightmare: bizarre and somehow decayed. Timmy is not to be seen, you look for him: behind the door is a wall but in the cupboard something is moving. On opening the cupboarddoors a dark entity jumps out of a dark corridor and attacks - closing the doors and somehow locking them is the option left. But now you have had a glimpse on a monstrosity in Timmy’s nightmare. He is behind that doors and you need to get in. Monsters are afraid of light and finally you are able to blow it away with a rocket. Timmy won’t just leave his nightmare with you, he insists on doing his dare. Following him into the next room, he enters the TV, that opens for him like a window and asks you to follow. But no, you can’t, as a figure leans out and tells you to leave or get a free card.
Not only the dare holds Timmy back, there is your antagonist now, who you need to overwhelm to help your nephew.
We have collectables in every scene and morphing objects on the HOS. Clever and not too easy puzzles help you on your way…. As the maze this time is a nightmare, the environment is twisted and logic works in puzzles only.

The graphics, music, background and effects sounds, as well as the voice-over narratives were outstanding.
The HO sequences and mini-games were no run-of-the-mill offerings. Madhead has made the effort to give these enough of a difference to set them apart from almost every other game you’ve ever played. The challenges are sufficient to satisfy any player, but not so tough as to make you constantly reach for the hint or skip buttons.
I’m not a big fan of CE games, as you know if you’ve read any of my other reviews, and don’t usually buy them, but I’m going to have to make an exception for this one! Show less
