There are two Realms in this world, The Realm of Man and the Realm of Fae which is ruled by a King and Queen. The Queen ruled by day, King Oberon by night, that is, until she left the Fae Realm and escaped to the Realm of Man. An infuriated King Oberon closed the gates between the two worlds, sealing her fate forever. The Realm of Man, is a broken world, a post apocalyptic world, a world that eagerly accepted the stranger who came to rule, to offer its people wisdom and salvation. When a sudden storm produced a deadly tornado, it forces Lynn and Astrid to flee their home, and seek shelter from the stranger, their Mayor. The sisters discover something amazing on their life saving journey, it seems that the storm has awakened powers deep within Lynn, powers she never knew she had, powers that are strengthened by the medallion she's had since birth. This is Dawn of Hope: Daughter of Thunder, this is an amazing journey!
Mad Head games has got game! Dawn of Hope is going to be a series of epic proportion, a stormy force to be reckoned with, one that will rise to the top of the HOPA charts, surely this game will qualify for many gaming awards, so hats off and kudos Mad Head, you've done it again! The only features I'm not crazy about, are that we have yet another Amulet/Medallion gimmicky tool, the same hidden Spirals are located in each scene, and that the Morphing Objects are only found within the Hidden Object Scenes, in this Collector's Edition version. This game would be absolutely perfect if each scene contained a slowly Morphing Object in each location instead of just in the HOP's!
The Hidden Object Scenes are what you'd expect, I've come to the conclusion that there's just not much you can do with this feature to make it more exciting, other than being creative with the location of the scenes. No longer are the items cleverly blended into the scene, perhaps in an effort to make them easy enough for everyone, but if you've ever played an older HOPA game, you'll notice that items were much more difficult to spot than in the newer games. There are Silhouetted Shape finds and Listed Item finds, usually a combination of both, and in the CE version, each of the 20 HOP's have a Morphing Object to find. I had to wonder about the HOP located inside the Cable Car, because one of the items was a bucket full of ice! How long was that bucket of ice in there? Why didn't the ice melt? How did they make ice in a post apocalyptic era in the first place?
The Mini Games are fairly decent, ranging from simplistic and easy, to medium difficulty, so far nothing super challenging. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Click on the symbol that matches the symbol near Lynn's' hand.
2) Select thorny vines that aren't covered by another vine.
3) Use directional arrows to blow wind on the lock and key parts to move them towards each other.
4) Select and drag the colored tiles to fill the entire grid, each tile has a specific amount of tiles it can cover.
5) Match 3 different corresponding items to each character by rotating circle sections.
6) Select misplaced items and place them into the scene correctly to advance the story.
7) Balance the spheres on the orange surface using directional arrows until the meter is full.

Wow, what a great game! In the first few moments, you are tasked in escaping from a tornado in a death defying struggle against time. The storyline is unique and imaginative with great voice acting and top of the line graphics and cutscenes. I loved the fast paced action that drew me in completely.
Mad Head has spoiled gamers recently with Donna Brave and now Dawn of Hope. Verdict: Get In!!

I am very happy with the game and bonus material. They didn't get cheap with the bonus material. They have a alternative ending, jigsaw puzzle, bonus puzzle game and ultimate hop. You unlock the Character gallery by playing the bonus puzzle game. The character gallery is interesting because they say what happens to the characters after the game. Such and such becomes blank and does blank. You get it. You can replay 20 hops. Sixteen hops in the main game and four in the bonus chapter. You have 20 morphing objects in the hops. You can get the morphs later if you miss them. You collect 30 signature swirls. Eight profile icons are pictures of the characters. Ten music tracks.
Four long chapters + Bonus chapter.
Try it for yourself. I thought it got better and better. Show less

The long-awaited second game in the Dawn of Hope series has finally arrived and it looks as if Daughter of Thunder just might surpass the excitement found in the first game Skyline Adventure. The game is once again set in a post-apocalyptic world (giving meaning to the series title Dawn of Hope) and in Daughter of Thunder you play the game as Astrid. As a huge storm approaches your sister, Lynne, awakens you so that you can escape your home before it is destroyed by the massive storm. Lynne asks you to be sure to bring her amulet and it’s a good thing that you were able to grab it as you fall from what is left of the house. As Lynne tries to save you she is struck by lightning that unleashes a power that she never knew she had. When you use her amulet it only magnifies that power and she is able to save you. Unfortunately Lynne’s power is drained and now you must somehow manage to get both of you to safety at the Mayor’s home where he will surely have something to restore Lynne.
Saving Lynne and finding shelter is only the beginning of Daughter of Thunder where you step into a world of family secrets and betrayal. Will you be able to unravel the truth and learn the secrets of the Stormborne? Play this amazing new Dawn of Hope to see where the storm will lead you.
The game has excellent graphics that depict the post-apocalyptic world with a sound track to match. You find a map early in the game that will allow you to travel quickly between scenes. You also will use Lynne’s Amulet to help you out in situations where you might need a bit of extra help but you will also need to play a mini-game before the amulet can help you out. I actually happen to like the mini-game that requires you to fill the squares on a grid with different colors.

The HOP scenes include the standard variety but the scenes are very creative and well-designed with some also being multi-level. The multi-level HOS include a variety of styles such as silhouette combined with the list type. I found the items fairly easy to spot although some of the scenes were filled with a lot of junk and were quite crowded. The puzzles were fairly easy and enjoyable with no brain-drain required to solve them. I am certain that there will be a few more challenging puzzles thrown into the mix as the game progresses so there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
The gameplay was fun and did seem quite linear without a lot of going back and forth so the game moved forward at a good pace. In many games the back and forth seems to be mainly a time-filler but that is not the case with Daughter of Thunder.
If you prefer the CE version of a game this one includes finding Mad Head symbols and morphing objects that are found in the HO scenes. There are also achievements to earn with some being multi-level. Other extras include Hop Gallery, Bonus Puzzle, Wallpapers, Soundtracks,, a Jigsaw Puzzle, an Alternate Ending, a Character Gallery, Profile Icons, a Bonus Chapter, and Strategy Guide.

Since playing the beta for Daughter of Thunder almost five months ago I have been eagerly awaiting the full release of the game so I could grab it. Well that day is finally here and I am looking forward to finding out how the storyline plays out. Lynne has an interesting family and family dynamic so it is anyone’s guess as to how the story will end. I also want to find out exactly what will happen to the mayor. Although he seems a bit ruthless I am sure there is probably more to that story as well. I already know that I love the game and am sure it will be even better than Skyline Adventure which is an excellent. As always, please try the demo to see if Daughter of Thunder is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

It's not often that a game builds such a unique world with such little narrative. This game made something I hadn't seen before in a world that was interesting, and they didn't have to tell you stories or make you listen to an introduction to do it. The quality of the world-building made this more enjoyable than most cookie-cutter HOGs.

OVERVIEW: Welcome to the Wild West Apocalypse! Yippee! Find yourself in a whirlwind of danger as you cope with the aftermath of a world calamity in which an “ornery” Texas-size twister overtakes a futuristic kingdom and never seems to move on. Get your lasso out to rope in that old windbag and take on some other danger as well! Play Astrid, who learns that her “sister,” Lynn, is the royal princess, Stormborne, placed within her family for protection by her mother, Queen of the Realm of Fae. Stormborne, the product of a tempestuous marriage, has been kidnapped by her real father, Oberon, the King of the Realm of Man who wishes to renew his relationship with her. She may not be your blood sister; however, family ties are strong and she did grow up with you. Off you go to save her and hopefully the kingdom as well.
A BIG THANK YOU to BFG for FINALLY RELEASING THIS GAME!! This game is all Mad Head from the creative, offbeat storyline to the well-crafted graphics to accompany this game. The story is a cyclonic mix of the theme of a twisted fairy tale world swirled into a sci-fi theme of an apocalyptic world. This game should appeal to sci-fi lovers, fairy tale game lovers, and those who like offbeat games. The collectibles are the same spirals as in other games; however, spiral in this case seem to match the whirlwind theme of the game. To me, the HOP scenes are best part of this game. The puzzles are easy, a little too easy for my taste. However, the action-packed pace of the game enticed me to purchase it.
HOP SCENES: There are the usual HOP scenes with lists of items, silhouette and locate and replace scenes; however, they are cleverly produced. There is one in which you locate items on a map in which you are taken to different locations within the town to locate the items.
PUZZLES: The puzzles are easy. In the demo, they include a matching puzzle plus a couple of skills puzzles including balancing a ball on a slider to return to the ground safely and using the amulet to fight an evildoer.
BLOW OFF SOME STEAM! There is one uniquely designed puzzle in which you navigate an arrow to blow some air on a key and a lock to get them to connect with each other.
AMULET PUZZLE: Every time you need to use your magic amulet, you will play a puzzle. You will fill in a grid by moving a series of blocks according to the numbers appearing on each block.
LEVELS: Gale, Tempest, Typhoon, Calamity, Custom
Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS:
Map is provided as you play the game
10 Achievements – Some have 3 parts
Collect 30 spirals as in all other games.
Replay 20 HOP scenes
Morphing objects within the HOP scenes
4 Wallpapers, 8 Profile Icons, Music, Jigsaw puzzle, Bonus puzzle, Soundtrack, Character Gallery
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND PUZZLES IN SEQUENCE
HOP SCENES:
(A) Silhouette. Locate items to complete your bag. (B) Matching. Use your amulet to match up runes. (B) List of items. (E) Very creative. (1) Silhouette. (2) List of items. PUZZLES: In the demo all the puzzles are easy.

Lynn and her stepsister, Astrid, need to get out of the path of a tornado. Well, the tornado doesn't move, so they really need to get out of the destructive winds. In the process of abandoning their home, Lynn suddenly acquires a strange power to control lightening that is somehow linked to an amulet she has had since she was a child. Luckily this talent helps her save Astrid, but then Astrid must turn about and save Lynn as she is weak after using her new power and needs help.
The girls have only each other in this twisted future world. There seems to be no one around town other than a surly shopkeeper. As Lynn has to almost be carried, Astrid must find a safe place for her.
Oddly, Astrid decides they need to go see the Mayor. Along the way to his home, Astrid repairs and recharges the amulet and solves various puzzles and HOPs. Naturally, not all is as it seems, and the Mayor is not the help Astrid hoped for.
This new entry in Dawn of Hope seems to have little to link it to the first game other than being another view on a possible post-apocalyptic world. This one will feature a conflict between Oberon, King of the Fae realm and Astrid, trying to reunite with her sister, Lynn.
Good stuff: A nice assortment of HOPs and puzzles, the only repetitious mini-game is the one you must complete to use the amulet. The artwork is well done, so well done I felt somewhat breathless in the high winds near the tornado.
There is sufficient story to draw you into the adventure. I am interested to see more of this new world the Devs have created for this game.
Bad stuff: Some of the setup is trite, like packing a bag that blows away in the wind and you only grab the amulet as the bag takes off. Seeing as how the wind had already blown a good bit of the walls and furniture away, I would have been holding on to the bag itself. Some other plot points and scenes were rough after the beautifully crafted first game of the series.
That being said, I do want this game and will eventually add it to my collection.
In the meantime, I urge you to try the Demo for yourself to see if you are also ready to go on this adventure with Astrid and Lynn
