Looks like Santa Claus will be a wee bit late delivering presents tonight, he's a little tied up at the moment. This is what happens when a baby is born from a union of natural disasters, her frozen heart has vowed to end Christmas forever, starting with Jolly Saint Nick! The North Pole is on it! Flying just under the radar to save the day, is demigod Ember, and her trusty steed Comet, who may have somehow managed to miss the first flight. (on dancer, on prancer, on comet....just in case) It's never too late for a Christmas miracle, (well technically Dec. 26 is too late) and the only way to stop a bad Queen with a frozen heart is to send in a good demigod with a very unique gift. Ba rump, bump, bump, bump, what gift is this? ......Open up this Christmas Gift, another fantastic Yuletide Legends game, to find out!

Yuletide Legends has it all, Kings and Queens, Humans and demigods, Magic Fireflies, Reindeer with wings, and Jack Frosts' latest and greatest inventions! And this Collector's Edition version has everything you'd expect as well, including Morphing Objects in every scene, that give you extra Wallpapers, and collectible Santa Coins that allows you to buy all the necessary items to whip up a batch of Christmas Cookies, just in case Ember saves Christmas and Santa needs refueling!

I'll admit, I even liked the Hidden Object Scenes in this game! I especially loved the HOP that requires you to use directional arrows to align sketches upon the correct pictures to complete the image. There are several HOP's that first require you to find 4 items and drag them to the shapes which will open the Progressive or highly interactive List finds, there are also Keywords in sentence finds as well as Multiples of the same items.

The Mini Games are really good too, and all are Christmas related. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Put the broken fragments together to complete the picture.

2) Guide the reindeer to the upper right corner by selecting gear switches to adjust the track.

3) Swap symbols to their correct places.

4) Use the clues from the photo to place the lock elements correctly by switching to empty adjacent spaces.

5) Use arrow buttons to rotate the objects so that their projections match the background.

6) Drag and place the fireflies so that all the torches are lit.

7) Place all of the items at the correct height according to the clues, placing one may affect others.

8) Rotate the lines until the form a 3D picture.

9) Untangle the rope by selecting the rope segments in the correct order.

10) Find hidden symbols and put them in the correct sequence to cross the ice.

11) Move the character cube to the finishing point as indicated by the image. Select and place arrows to change the direction of the cube.

Here it is Christmas Eve and Santa has gone missing! For years Santa has been trying to deliver gifts to an island but storms always prevented him from even getting close. But this year is different and as Santa nears the coast he encounters Queen Tempest who for some reason is bent on revenge against Santa. You play Frozen Hearts as Ember, a Demi-God with the gift of fire and Marta Claus has called on to find Santa so that he can complete his annual trek to deliver love and joy to the children on the frozen island. As you play this beautiful Christmas game the story unfolds while you complete HOPs and Puzzles. I absolutely love this game and feel that it is for me the best Christmas game of the past few years.

The graphics create a winter wonderland out of a tropical island. The game is so creative in its many special touches that I think it will probably end up being a Christmas family tradition for many of my fellow gamers and their loved ones.

Not only are the graphics beautiful but as you play the game you will find notes that have some beautiful and positive sentiments. I enjoyed reading the notes that warmed my heart as I played through the game. Your tools include an interactive map as well as your special fire magic to use in various situations.

Although they might seem easy for other gamers I had some difficulty with many of the puzzles because I simply didn’t understand the goals and felt that the game lacked in helpful instructions. This is the only downfall in the game for me. I was having those absolutely dense moments when I couldn’t figure out what to do. I also feel that the HOPS are more difficult than in some other games I have played. There is one that contains sliders where we must align drawings to complete the pictures and I had to continuously use the hint or switch between the available match-3 game to finish the scene. Thankfully the developers created a terrific alternative match-3 that is fun to play and I found myself enjoying it more than some of the complicated HOPAs.

If you prefer the CE version of a game this one includes Collectible Stockings, Coins, and Morphing Objects. Of course we have achievements to earn as well. The remainder of the package is the standard fluff such as Wallpapers, Artwork, Music, Developer’s Diary, Matching Puzzle and a Bonus Match, Bonus Game, and the Strategy Guide. This is quite an excellent CE package and well worth the price, IMHO.

Although we have had better than usual Christmas games this year, Yuletide Legends Frozen Hearts is the best of those offered. This game has it all and it has a message of love and hope. I love playing this game and will complete it this morning but I know I will play it again in the next few days. It is not often that I find a Christmas game that I think is simply wonderful. I have enjoyed the other Christmas games this year and think that all of the developers did a terrific job but for me Daily Magic nailed it and, IMHO, this game should be an award winner. Okay, so we all know that I love this game, but you might have different taste than me so please try the demo to see if Yuletide Legends Frozen Hearts is a game you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming! Is it creepy to admit you have a crush on an animated character? I couldn't remember which game the lovely Jack was in from last year and here he is again. I'm glad I played the demo for that reason alone but besides that, it's a beautiful game with a good story attached to it. Definite buy at full price because I want it NOW.

OVERVIEW: Planning on spending Christmas on a warm tropical island? Well not in this game! However, the warmth of its Christmas spirit may warm your heart! Welcome, Ember - Demigod! Hopefully, with the snap of your fingers, you can light a flame of Christmas spirit into all who play this game! Personally, I feel this is the best seasonal game out of this season’s crop. The game has all the appearance and spirit of Christmas. The story behind the game is one of love conquering all obstacles in its path and this message is well-portrayed within this game. For me, the game is well worth the price with beautiful graphics, and creatively designed puzzles and HOP scenes. For me, this is a Christmas game which is a keeper.

This is wonderful game for the whole family to share. The extras include collecting morphing objects and coins which are used to purchase items to make Christmas cookies. You receive a token at the side of your inventory bar to create fire with the snap of your fingers. You collect stockings to play a match game after the completion of the game.

HOP SCENES: These scenes are all wrapped up in Christmas delight. Most are interactive. In one you must locate items and then interact with each one within the scene. Some of the scenes are reused within the game. There are some new creative elements within the scenes. Beside lists of items, there are silhouette and storybook scenes with items to locate in BOLD letters. You have the option to play a thematic Match-3 game in lieu of the scenes.

DRAWN TO SCALE: My favorite scene! In this scene you use a scale to maneuver parts of images to add to the scene to create a complete item to be removed. I have never seen this concept used in a HOP scene previously and feel it is a creative touch.

PUZZLES: The puzzles vary in design and difficulty. There are several puzzles with the option to play them in either a hard or casual mode. The puzzles are thematic as well with many images of Christmas items within the puzzles. In one creative scene, you use levers to switch train tracks to get a reindeer to its destination.

Here are some of my favorites which are festive and have a Christmas flair:

A. Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer! Maze puzzle. Using levers to switch a train track, lead a deer to the top of a sloped track. Rating: 2
B. It’s beginning to look like Christmas! Choice between Hard and Casual. Align two (2) (or three in the hard version) images so that their projections match the images with the scene. Each item has its own set of arrows to adjust the images.
C. You light up my life! Rope puzzle. Position ropes attached to fireflies so that torches within the scene are all lit. Each torch must have a rope intersect it to light the torch. Rating: 2
D. Create a Christmas memory! Assembly puzzle. Rotate lines until they create a picture. One of my favorites. 3X Increases in difficulty.
E. All paths lead to Christmas joy! Choice between Hard and Casual. Mathematical puzzle. Lead the Queen through a maze by placing arrows (4 in the casual version and 3 in the hard version) to lead her to her destination. 3X

It’s time to come to the rescue and save Santa Claus in this festive Hidden Object fairy tale! Cast in the role of a demigod named Ember you must defeat a vengeful Ice Queen named Tempest intent on keeping Christmas from coming. In the beginning, this had the flavor of Christmas, then through out the game, it had the flavor of restoring torches that were broken and help the Ice queen to understand why she was left alone and bring back Christmas the island, then at the very end of the game it had that Christmas feeling to it

Using her special ability of fire Ember must light the torches the ice Queen has put out. Along the way Ember helps those that dwell on the island and learns why the Queen was exiled to there. As Ember finds a way to free Santa she also learns the story of the ice Queen and how to melt her frozen heart.

The voice acting is excellent. The scenes beautiful. The puzzles interactive and a variety of different kinds. The music score is perfect for the game's theme. And the story is one to love for the Christmas spirit and holiday season.

Another great game to a this series and highly recommended for all holiday players. Show less

I was so glad to see this come out in time for Christmas. Though the storyline was a bit weird and typical all at the same time, I really enjoyed it.

I loved gaining achievements, looking for the morphing stockings and unlocking secret wallpapers, collecting coins to make cookies. The game was a long one but the bonus game was way too short.
