I thought this one was just top class game-play. I rarely give anything 5 stars, but I think this one has it all for me: really wonderful detailed graphics including little interactive items in a scene, varied HOS that were very entertaining, and a variety of mini-games that I found really enjoyable. I thought this one was just top class game-play. I rarely give anything 5 stars, but I think this one has it all for me: really wonderful detailed graphics including little interactive items in a scene, varied HOS that were very entertaining, and a variety of mini-games that I found really enjoyable. The story is a little bit "huh?" but we are saving Santa after all! This one took me a good 6 hours and I skipped one puzzle - a very nice bonus game as well with mostly all new scenes and tasks that took me the better part of an hour.

IMHO, "Christmas Stories" series had better take note of this fabulous offering! Show less

Well, this one got me so much hooked, that I didn't play it all at one so it would last longer! What a festive scenery and how Christmas-appropriate. I much like the cursor that becomes a mitten. You collect big red socks and some coins in microscenes. Little Ember must rescue Santa by lighting seven torches all over the island and warming the heart of a wayward elemental god. Good music, lovely scenes and fun puzzles!

It took me a little while to get into this game (Christmas on the beach?), but after a while I really started enjoying it!

I recommend this game!

Yuletide Legends sends a powerful message this Christmas, a message that will surely warm your heart, and hopefully the frozen heart of Queen Tempest. This is a story about keeping faith, trusting your brethren, being grateful for what you have even if you don't have what you want, a story about what can happen when you don't have hope, and show little respect for those who truly care. I prefer the Collector's Edition version personally, because I love Morphing Objects, but this game is a must have for Christmas. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either is right for you:

Looks like Santa Claus will be a wee bit late delivering presents tonight, he's a little tied up at the moment. This is what happens when a baby is born from a union of natural disasters, her frozen heart has vowed to end Christmas forever, starting with Jolly Saint Nick! The North Pole is on it! Flying just under the radar to save the day, is demigod Ember, and her trusty steed Comet, who may have somehow managed to miss the first flight. (on dancer, on prancer, on comet....just in case) It's never too late for a Christmas miracle, (well technically Dec. 26 is too late) and the only way to stop a bad Queen with a frozen heart is to send in a good demigod with a very unique gift. Ba rump, bump, bump, bump, what gift is this? ......Open up this Christmas Gift, another fantastic Yuletide Legends game, to find out!

Yuletide Legends has it all, Kings and Queens, Humans and demigods, Magic Fireflies, Reindeer with wings, and Jack Frosts' latest and greatest inventions! The Collector's Edition version has everything you'd expect, including Morphing Objects in every scene, that give you extra Wallpapers, and collectible Santa Coins that allows you to buy all the necessary items to whip up a batch of Christmas Cookies, just in case Ember saves Christmas and Santa needs refueling!

I'll admit, I even liked the Hidden Object Scenes in this game! I especially loved the HOP that requires you to use directional arrows to align sketches upon the correct pictures to complete the image. There are several HOP's that first require you to find 4 items and drag them to the shapes which will open the Progressive or highly interactive List finds, there are also Keywords in sentence finds as well as Multiples of the same items. Some of the HOP's are repeated, but at least they switch up the type, the second go round.

The Mini Games are really good too, and all are Christmas related. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Put the broken fragments together to complete the picture.

2) Guide the reindeer to the upper right corner by selecting gear switches to adjust the track.

3) Swap symbols to their correct places.

4) Use the clues from the photo to place the lock elements correctly by switching to empty adjacent spaces.

5) Use arrow buttons to rotate the objects so that their projections match the background.

6) Drag and place the fireflies so that all the torches are lit.

7) Place all of the items at the correct height according to the clues, placing one may affect others.

8) Rotate the lines until the form a 3D picture.

9) Untangle the rope by selecting the rope segments in the correct order.

10) Find hidden symbols and put them in the correct sequence to cross the ice.

11) Move the character cube to the finishing point as indicated by the image. Select and place arrows to change the direction of the cube.

I'm one-third into this SE version and at first the flow didn't suit my tastes and gradually, I started getting the feel of these devs' strategy. The flow is okay and there are so many good things to do to keep your interest and your mind active. It's not the best game, but it's doable. I like it. There is this cutest little Guinea Pig in one scene and she is quite useful, too! The HOS are different and interactive and the puzzles and mini-games are cleverly done. The artwork is good; I've seen better. However, good job, devs on the storyline! I know the true meaning of Christmas in my heart but the snow, Santa for the kiddies, presents, the reindeer, it's all good and festive and cozy, and what the storyline represents is exactly what Pennmom36 stated in her great review! I'm totally in agreement with her! It's a very touching story, thus far.

Stick with this game and see it through; you won't be sorry. I'm not a proponent of demos for various reasons, but that's just me, but I do encourage you to try it and see a glimpse of what you will be dealing with.

The map is great as well as the hint button. The music is good and so are the sound effects. If it distracts you, turn the sound down or off. Your choice. I do recommend this game! Show less

I loved Yuletide Legends: The Brothers Claus and this years sequel "Frozen Heart" is just as magical as the first! The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and full of the magic of Christmas. It looks like this developer has reached for the stars with their graphics because they have done a stellar job with this game. It's easy to see why this edition was chosen for "Editor's Choice". It’s time to come to the rescue and save Santa Claus in this festive Hidden Object fairy tale! Cast in the role of a demigod named Ember you must defeat a vengeful Ice Queen named Tempest intent on keeping Christmas from coming. The story line is wonderful and makes you want to play from start to finish. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish for more games like this one too! Show less

The graphics were very good.

Since Christmas-themed games are my favorite, I did enjoy playing this game. I usually focus on the storyline and it disappointed me a little. The graphics are great and never strayed from the theme. Overall, this is a good holiday fun.

I was enjoying the free trial for this game, until I got stuck in Chapter 2 of the game, and was not able to go any further. I got stuck on the HOP in the house where you had to line up the pictures to make the object that you needed to find. I was enjoying the free trial for this game, until I got stuck in Chapter 2 of the game, and was not able to go any further. I got stuck on the HOP in the house where you had to line up the pictures to make the object that you needed to find. At 60 years of age, it was way too hard for my eyes to see in order for that to happen, and I no longer have the patience for that when it becomes that difficult. The hint button was do help, as all that did was tell me to slide the arrows on the two rulers. I knew that all ready. what I needed was to be able to have the choice to skip this whole HOP scene, and move on in the game. I just checked the walkthrough blog that is posted for this game. No help there as it does not show where al the HOPs are for this scene. Since this is the case. I will never spend the money or time on this game. Show less
