I love the Moai series, the graphics are exceptional (for a TM game of course) the tasks are clear and obtainable, and there's always a nice variety of features, however, I don't see the need to present a Time Management game as a Collector's Edition, this Standard Edition is the better value in my opinion. The only feature even remotely beneficial in the CE would be the built in Strategy Guide, but it's very difficult to get "stuck" on a TM level, after all you can replay any level as often as you want to improve your score, so to me, it's really a waste of money unless you've just gotta have a few wallpapers and a few extra levels. (100 levels total throughout the game.
There are two modes of difficulty available, Easy mode which is untimed for a relaxing experience the other is Casual which is designed for gamers familiar with TM games. The Collector's Edition has 56 Achievements to earn, including the Tikku-ana Locket which is activated when you complete every level with a gold medal. Each level has tresure chests available which contain valuable artifacts and bonuses such as the Sandals of Speed which give the moai a little more speed to get the job done. There are 24 different Artifacts to earn that increase resources by a specific percentage. The Artifacts are kept in your backpack and you can choose up to 6 artifacts to apply before each level of your choice.
The Collector's Edition has 4 Wallpapers (which are cartoonish in style) 9 Music Soundtracks, 14 Character Biographies, Bonus Levels, and a built in Strategy Guide, enjoy! Show less

I love all the games in this series although a bit frustrated with the first one. This one had bandits instead of ghosts, but it at least had a finite goal of numbers to defeat then they stop attacking.

I played the other two Moai games and they were fantastic. This does the series justice! My only complaint is that it is not as challenging as the first two were. At times, in the other two games, I would have to replay a level several times. This game was pretty easy comparatively. That's just one small thing. The game is really fun and I highly recommend it to all the time-management fans.

Has a RELAXED setting
That being said, now some of you (like me) will keep reading. I remember playing this game as a collector's edition? just a few months ago, and I had several issues with locking up, timer still being on in relaxed mode, etc. As far as I can tell, the game plays beautifully now.

The only reason I am not giving this game 5 stars is because after so many levels the whole game becomes jammed and I can't play any further. Very annoying as I absolutely love the game, it's challenging without being so hard that I can't continue.
I considered buying the Collector's Edition in the hope that the freezing problem won't be on that one but I can't tell from the one hour demo and I

I really enjoyed the first two instalments in the series, especially because they differed significantly from other TM games like Roads of Rome and Northern Tale which I had been playing for years, but I was less than impressed by this third instalment.
Firstly, compared to the first two, it is much easier, to a childish degree. I only had to replay one level to get a gold orb on the map, and I finished most levels with about a third of timer remaining, sometimes almost half.
Secondly, the levels did not seem well planned. In the first two instalments, I needed to come up with a strategy and often make several attempts to figure out what I need to build and in what order. I also felt that every lot had a purpose. In this game, I felt like I was just filling up the lots and waiting for the resources to accumulate. I often pointlessly planted groves and sawmills just because I had space. Furthermore, I did not even need to use some of the preplaced structures. For example, in one level where one of the goals was to accumulate a certain amount of rocks, I completed the goal before even unblocking the way to a preplaced, upgraded quarry at the end of the path!
Thirdly, the ghosts from the first two instalments have been removed. I really enjoyed fighting against them in the first two instalments - they provided a tower defense subgame within the main TM game, which was a refreshing combination. In this instalment, they have been replaced by bandits, which take only two clicks to kill. There are structures which shoot lightning at them (distinct from the Moai statues), but they are always preplaced and cannot be built on empty lots. They also cannot be upgraded, and there are no subtypes of bandits, whereas in the first two instalments, there were blue, red and purple ghosts with different movement speeds and which required a different amount of clicks to kill. Lastly, the bandits illogically move through obstacles. This would make sense for ghosts, which are immaterial beings, but not human bandits. On the whole, the removal of the ghosts greatly impoverished the game.
Fourthly, as there are no ghost attackers, the Moai statues have now been repurposed - they produce Mana, but only 10 units per cycle, and cannot be upgraded. As a result, they are totally pointless. I got all the Mana I needed from the temples, the contribution from the Moai statues being totally negligible.
Fifthly, the terrain changes too much in a seemingly haphazard fashion. I would have preferred something like ten jungle levels followed by ten snow levels etc.
In conclusion, this game is not really worth playing if you already played the first two, but if it's your first in the series, you may be more likely to enjoy it.
The visual and sound quality is as good as in the previous two games. I have nothing to say about the storyline because I always skip them, so I gave it 5/5 by default. Show less

Not another one like this, they all end up being the same just with different characters and scenes. Can nobody come up with "different" games anymore. Any other ideas aside from match three's and the same dark HO's... There has not even been a decent word game for ages. Oh well, if you want more of the same then go for it. I won't say to recommend or not. Happy gaming all.
