Mystery of the Ancients Sealed and Forgotten is game number six in the series. I loved this game and at the time of this review I have played the entire game and am considering replaying it simply because it was very enjoyable. IMHO, Sealed and Forgotten lives up to the promise of the first two games in the series that were excellent, with Curse of the Blackwater probably being my favorite. In this game you, a paranormal investigator, have been called to the scene of a murder where the victim has been found in a locked room with no other exit. As you begin to investigate, the unbelievable happens and you are marked with an icy, burning rune. Now the race is on to solve the murder and to find a way to stop the “curse” from spreading.

The graphics are excellent with a sound package that completes the overall experience. I happen to love the character of Donovan who is a look alike for a popular TV crime scene investigator and I am sure that many of you noticed the resemblance as well. Your tools include an interactive map and a very cute little tree who will act as your helper or not. The developer has provided an option for you to opt out of having the helper accompany you on your journey if you want to go it alone. I happen to think the helper is rather cute and I do enjoy his antics whenever I want him to help me acquire an item or perform a task.

The HOP scenes are for the most part quite good and very creative. I always enjoy the list type scenes the most but this game includes a wide variety of scene types and some I don’t care for quite as much.

The puzzles were good but generally easy. There were a few puzzles that took more time to complete and then there were one or two that I skipped just because I didn’t care for them. All in all, even those who are not huge puzzle fans will probably enjoy this game. If you don’t care for the puzzles, there is a skip button available.

The CE version of the game includes all of the standard extras such as the strategy guide, bonus game, wallpapers, concept art, music and videos. I enjoyed searching for the collectible clovers with some of them being very obvious and others quite difficult to spot. The figurines are fairly easy to find as well and I did manage to find all of them as well as most of the clovers.

The game’s storyline was so interesting and held my attention throughout the game. I will only tell you that there are some twists and turns at the end of the game that I didn’t expect and that made it much more fun. Given the HOPs and puzzles the game is one that I can recommend as being a very good 5-star game. We all happen to like different things so please try the demo to see is you might enjoy this game as well. Show less

I love little helpers (unless they're talking animals that you have to dress) and this one reminds me of that adorable little scarecrow boy. The game has lovely, haunting music that's very lightly done, the graphics are good and the voice acting is even better and it's just a fun game to play. Looking forward to a sale so I can buy it. Thanks devs!

This game is a wonderful family game. Easy to play, lots to do, Cute little tree helper wish I could have the option of naming him Groot or something. lol. Story line was good, game flow was great, puzzles were easy breezy, HO's were good, Critter Action, a so so map. and descent inventory and cut scenes.

The only thing I found a little annoying was the set up for the map, and other items like the journal or whatever those other choices were. I guess I should have checked them out. But it would close if you did not be careful to stay on the area when trying to choose anything like the map. Wish you could click it and it just stay open so you could decide what to open like the map. Other then that great use of characters and nice leave off. Goes near the top middle of my to buy list. What a delightful game, there was no darkness, or creepiness, so thank you for that.
You can have a little helper, he's a young tree, and he will help you reach far off objects, it does say that if you don't want to use him, it won't affect the story, but he's soo cute, you can't resist him.
I loved every second of this game, and the ending is so sad, I really hope they do another game.

You do have to stop the chief witch, but you use your own magic to do that, you collect ingredients to make the potions you need.
At the end of the bonus game you have to make sure that the gate is closed, then your little helper walks off, all sad, a women goes to get him, but it doesn't actually show if she does, so who knows Show less

Amazing adventure that will have you in awe of magic, greed and how alike we all are !!! Great variety of games to play that will keep you on your toes. Best in the series by far and will tug at your heartstrings.

Well, the demo was a waste of time because the game moved at such a slow pace. I saw a couple of games and a HOG. They were unique but not difficult. I enjoyed the storybook game and the HOG was very interactive which was actually a good challenge.

Well, the demo was a waste of time because the game moved at such a slow pace. I saw a couple of games and a HOG. They were unique but not difficult. I enjoyed the storybook game and the HOG was very interactive which was actually a good challenge.

I liked how all the stuff you need to inform or help you was kept in the briefcase. There is a good map and of course our beloved guide. I saw a collectible doll (it looked like Donavan) and a clover, not sure what kind of extras are included. Didn't check before I started playing the game. Use the custom mode and you can set the hint and skip to ONE second. I really like that!!

The story seems to be based on a nature theme with trees as the main element. Tree emblems and decorations were apparently an important icon throughout the entire mansion, even in the dungeon. I love nature related stories, especially with the supernatural added in, so I'm hoping the game features a lot of it.

Unlike some gamers, I thought the little tree helper was cute and in the demo he was totally silent (a good thing!). So I decided to keep him! But I am wondering if little tree people are the norm in this town. I would have been totally amazed and a little scared, thinking maybe I should make a fast exit. But these 2 detectives didn't even "bat an eye"!

The graphics were excellent as was the color throughout. The music and sound effects were good, nothing to get on my nerves at least in the first 90 minutes. I heard only a couple of voices in the demo but they were normal sounding and clear. As for the characters, I have seen much better. Detective Donovan really irritated me! He's a useless dope, just stands around looking pathetically vague!! No facial expression at all. Therefore, I do not trust him. Should keep a close eye on this guy!

Love the supernatural aspect, but sadly saw none of it in the demo except for a small bit via a camera. And the dead man did something a little scary, don't want to say what and spoil it. So I imagine that will lead to more interest and demon or witchcraft involvement into the story.

So far, I have experienced nothing that makes me want to own this game. The portion allowed us in the demo just did not offer enough of anything to help me make that decision. Usually the demo is a good indicator of what lies ahead.

However, I'll be generous with 5 stars. Maybe it will improve and an exciting chain of events will take us on a great supernatural ride...IF Donovan gets out of the way and we can find the missing key to our invisible car!
