Jewel Match delivers once again with a spooktacular Solitaire game! This is one of the few games that I actually get into when it comes to building things with the coins you earn because they are always beautiful castles, but in this case, they are spooky castles. There are several features that probably go unnoticed for the most part, but I love the fact that after each level, all 3 stars (or however many you earn) immediately pop into place at the same time as a group. I hate it when you have to wait for an eternity as one star appears, after it's placed, the second one arrives and finally the third. To me, it's equivalent to dial-up as you sit there waiting for what seems like an eternity, for all of the stars to make their appearance. I also loved the colony of bats that fly into the night sky after each level, and the fireworks that form creepy spiders.

This is a Higher/Lower Solitaire game, which is my favorite type, but it is also a Mahjong game because as you progress through the Solitaire levels, you unlock groups of Mahjong Games (50 total) that can be played anytime, to earn more gold. Personally, I think that part was a big mistake, they should have offered different types of Solitaire Games such as Spider or Tri-Peaks. You can choose from 4 different card backs and 2 front card styles, and you can play in Relaxed mode which allows for more than one deal, Normal mode, or Hard mode which is a timed mode. If you want to earn all of the 24 available Trophy Achievements, make sure you click to choose the custom cursor because this option is one of the trophies! You can choose to replay a level immediately from the score tally window or by choosing a particular level at anytime from the level map, which is a must have feature for me personally.

Some cards are blocked with obstacles that require finding the tool card, such as a Key Card to open Locked cards, Hammer cards to break the Chained cards, Scissors to snip the Ribbon cards (some cards have multiple ribbons) and Scythe Cards to whack down Throned cards. Frozen cards require 2 plays to remove them, Wax Sealed cards require playing a specific colored card, red or black, and some seals have specific suits that require you to include the specified suit and color from the board.

Some of the cards on the board have Jewels under them, the collected jewels are what you will use to buy Castle sections with. Some cards have hidden coins under them which allows you to purchase items in the shop to help you win. Combo's begin at a 5 card chain which will raise the coin index, and allow you to buy even more power-ups. Items in the Shop include a remaining card counter,additional undos and shuffle's, remove a specific or random card on the board, reveal a percentage of face down cards, more deck cards, earn more gold per level, specific numbered Wildcards, Jokers or increase the chance of getting jokers and wildcards.

I like solitaire and, as games go, Golf isn't all that bad, and, that's a good thing, because it seems that it's the game we are offered more than any other. Perhaps that is because it is a simple game to play with few rules to worry about. You just choose cards that are higher or lower in value than the one next to the deck of cards and build on that card as long as you can. This game, however, makes it actually fun to play! There are obstacles to your play that are different than any other I've played. There are cards that are frozen and require you to play the card twice to clear it from the field. There are cards that are sealed with wax that require you play certain cards to remove that seal, and some of those seals require a match with a certain suit before they fall away and make the card available for play. I've never seen that before. There are cards that require you to find a pair of scissors to clear them - sometimes more than one pair of scissors is required. There are cards locked with padlocks that require a key to make them available for play. This game actually makes you think a bit. The game requires a bit of strategy to clear the playing field and that makes the game much more entertaining for me. The goal is the same - clear off all of the cards before you run out of cards - but, reaching that goal is much more fun with this game than with any other I've played. There are cool goodies you can buy from the store to aid in game play and some of them are a first for me, too. Check out the store when you try the game and I think you'll agree that there is a lot more than the regular joker, undo, and shuffle you can buy in other games. The game has a building aspect, too. It's fun to make enough money to build something, and what is better than building rather creepy castles? The music is appropriate, as are the environments - creepy, darkish, bats flying here and there , foggy nights - it's all perfect for the game. It all comes together to provide us with a total solitaire game - fun, engaging, and thoughtful. There are also mahjong games to play that are made available to you as you make progress in the solitaire game, and they, too, are very well done. There are also difficulty levels you can choose from when you start the game. I chose relaxed - I get a re-deal, and I like that, but, to get the three stars awarded at each level, you need to win without a re-deal, so, if stars are big deal for you - don't choose the relaxed mode. This is another wonderful game from the Jewel Match makers. The only negative thing is the castles were so dark and dreary. I guess that was the theme but it would have been nice to have more color.
If you like a good solitaire game where you absolutely get your money's worth- this is not a quick game- then buy this one. It is so worth the price.

The music definitely leaned toward a Halloween theme and the Graphics are so very well done. I also really enjoyed the Mahjong that was on the sidelines...you don't have to play it if you don't want to..but I did and enjoyed that too. This wee game has 200 levels and I think it also had 50 bonus levels although I haven't played them yet.

I tried to keep this short and sweet but it just didn't happen... there are so many good things to say about this game...try the demo and you'll probably be hooked like me..LOL!!! Have fun all !!! Show less

I love this game,one of my alltime favorite solitaire games. Overall,it wasn't a huge challenge,though you can change the difficulty level. It's a long game,with several eerie castles and old houses to build. There's also bonus games-mahjongh-and those are quite fun,too.

I could go on and on. If you love solitaire, this is a MUST own!!
I beg the developers to please make more just like this one. I loved it and I appreciate the time, effort and the work that was put into this to make it the PERFECT game!

I have most of the other jewel match games and wasn't sure I'd like a solitaire but this is so fun. Haven't completely finished the game yet but so far am enjoying every minute.
