That low-life poacher Pietro Mangula and his band of merry thieves have joined the celebration! Their devious plan is to create chaos throughout the reserve and slip out undetected with their cargo of wildlife. There's just one problem...They weren't counting on the fact that Rescue Team was attending the ceremony! I'm on my way!

There's a difficulty mode available for everyone including a Relaxed mode with no Time constraints, as well as a Normal mode that only allows you to assign available workers, and a Multi-click mode which allows you to queue tasks for workers to complete once they become available. There are 27 Achievements to earn, 50 Main Levels and 20 Bonus Levels available in this Collector's Edition version which also has a built-in Strategy Guide. The Strategy Guide is actually quite useful because this is definitely a Strategy-based Time Management game!

If you haven't played any of the previous 7 Rescue Team games before, you're in for a treat because unlike most TM games, Rescue Team is all about rescuing people after Natural and Man-made catastrophes. The people may be trapped simply because the roads are destroyed or blocked by fallen debris, others may be trapped under collapsed buildings, and those jobs call for specialists Larry and Barry who are the Rescue Team's adorable, but hard-working Saint Bernards.

Eventually, the Team will rescue people using boats, ski lifts, ATV's etc. requiring unusual TM equipment like Generators, Pumps, Lighting sources and even Cranes. Naturally, all that equipment uses a ton of fuel, so you need a constant supply of fuel as well as Food sources and Lumber sources. Hospitals, Veterinarian offices, Pet Shops, and Housing need to be built or repaired before Medics, Doctor's or Veterinarians can treat the victims. Because this is a strategy-based game, it may take a replay or two, to determine which tasks and which buildings are more important and in which order they should be queued.

There are still the usual tasks available in most TM games, to collect resources such as food, money and wood, clear roadways of debris, fix potholes, repair bridges and damaged buildings, and strategically construct Sawmills, Cafe's, Houses, Pet Shops to feed Barry and Larry, and Gas Stations that will produce the required resources.

If you earn 3 Stars on a level, you will receive coins that can be used in the Shop to purchase Bonuses. There are also Bonus chips on some of the levels that will make the rescue workers run faster, or produce gas, food, wood etc. faster, but for a brief period of time, so you'll want to decide when to collect a chip to give you the most benefits ant the right time.

You can purchase items in the Shop to help you achieve the level goals. These are available in 5 different Categories, Tools which speed up the rescue team workers, speeds up construction or road repair work. Medical supplies help victims remain warm or prevent disease from spreading, and to keep fires from spreading. Emergency items speed up machines such as water pumps, and makes medics treat patients faster, and also speed up Larry & Barry when they search rubble for victims. in the Vehicle category, planes deliver freight faster, makes the Crane and water pumps work faster.

This Collector's Edition version has 27 Achievements to earn, 12 Music Soundtracks, 10 Character Pictures with Bios, 9 Concept Art pictures, 50 Main Levels +20 Bonus Levels and a Built-in Strategy Guide. What are you waiting for? Start rescuing team!

Rescue Team 8 is here and I know that when a Rescue Team game is released it means there is a lot of fun headed my way. I am certainly not an expert at TM games as they are not my usual go-to ones to play but that being said, in the past few years I have dipped my toes into the TM genre. There is a one series that I love to play at Halloween and it is the one that really started my interest in playing TM games. Since then I've found a few other series I enjoy in the genre but Rescue Team is right at the top of my list.

In Rescue Team 8 Pietro Mangula, a famous poacher, has stolen all of the animals and destroyed the reserve. Now you and your Rescue Team friends must go to work to save the animals, rescue people, and rebuild the reserve. Wow, even I could play this game and have had so much fun this morning doing it that it will be hard to pull myself away for those real-life tasks that need to be done.

If you are new to the TM genre and want a game that can be played in a relaxed mode as you learn how to play, then Rescue Team 8 is a game I think will fit the bill as you find out how much fun a TM game can be. Every time a new Rescue Team game is released I am right on it and know it is a game that will be a lot of fun. Not only will you need to rescue and restore as you play, you will also need to figure out the best strategy for accomplishing your goals. Although I play the game in the relaxed mode the first time through, the next time I am a bit braver and will select a different option for playing the game but no matter which option I select, I still have fun playing without the stress that I find in some TM games.

Rescue Team 8 is an excellent game and one I love but, as always, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

What a delightful series and another quality game. There is not a lot new in this game from others in the series but it is still one of the best strategy time management games ever.

The only totally new feature in this game from others is the arrival of an 'animal protector' who comes armed with cages and the ability to disarm traps then rescue and pick up animals after the 'vetinarian' has healed them .

There are resource buildings to erect, rocks to remove, lifts to repair, generators to get started, cranes to repair bridges, dynamite to find, people to rescue be it by the workers, helicopter or the Barry and Larry the dogs from the canine clinic. (who of course can search ruins for survivors too)

The graphics in this episode are wonderful, though not new in design, seem to have a lot of warmth in the surroundings and the cut scenes. Perhaps aimed at children a little more as there is a relaxed as well as multiclick and normal on timed. This would be a great one to start them on.

This game is however you play it.. HARD CORE. Whilst sometimes it is hit and miss sometimes what to build as you cannot see through some misty screens until you turn off the source, it still comes down to great timing when to demolish a building and replace it with something else. It is one of my delights with this game and I have found myself at times madly demolishing and erecting buildings just to boost what I need as they always give forth on completion!

There was only one negative. The tutorial! I became so annoyed as an experienced player that it made me follow its direction no matter what. There were times I would have held off picking up 'speed up' cards from the ground until another time, but it would not let me move on, and I found it quite disconcerting to have my cursor stopped frequently. I have not seen any way to turn it off?

This is Rescue Team at its finest. As yet I have not hit any fires or people who need to be kept warm, but I know they are coming from the bonus tools you can buy with your stars you earn. There is also Base Camp to build with your money.

I have read about the 'forced tutorial', all you have to do is turn off hints under game options. It made the game much more enjoyable.

At first I was unsure about the 5 star rating. I didn't like that when you clicked to undo a move, it undid ALL moves I had previously chosen. Up to 5 or 6 all gone. This game, I felt, was easier than previous Rescues. But now I am half way through and find it decent enough for a five star. I feel the strategy is enough to qualify it so. (Though I have played better strategy TMs.) I am not in love (yet) with the characters. Although, it looks like love might be blooming, it has been a LONG time coming between Ronn and his dog handler friend. But all in all since I am a TM fanatic and it seems like developers are finally beginning to get us, I am going to crown this a FIVER! Have fun. Show less

I really thought the graphics were excellent on this game. It is very similar to the other Rescue Teams but they are always fun to play. I think each new release gets easier to play. I turned off the hints and don't have the game telling me what to do. I really like this game. I love all the Rescue Team games.

This series of games is my very favorite. You can make it as hard or easy as you want. I prefer an easy, relaxing game and this sure delivered.

While the storyline was a bit lacking, it doesn't really effect the game all that much. The favorite characters were still there and I love the dogs in this game.

I'd have to say the only thing I kind of missed was saving the cats and dogs that ...Show more

This is another Rescue Teams game that is so much fun, a bit challenging, and just fabulous storyline and colors.

I love it. I have all the other ones, so I was happy to see #8 released. However, there are two things I found annoying:
1. The fact that you are forced to do the "recommended" tasks. Example: level 4 - I was forced to demolish the sawmill and build a Burger shop. The wood was highly necessary, so I had to waste time to build it further on. This, and all the other force tasks made me get 1 star ...Show more
