Thank you for immortalizing my beloved Loki in my favorite HOG, Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger. Your games have always taken me to my special happy place, a nostalgic place filled with wonderful memories... together with Loki on my lap. Your incredibly kind hearts have helped to heal mine and this means the world to me :)

You can play in a Casual Mode (untimed-faster hint recharge) a Challenge Mode (timed-normal hint recharge) or Extreme (timed as to how long it takes to complete the scene-all wildlife & recyclables must be found) There are 20 Achievements to earn for completing various tasks such as finding Wildlife, buying souvenirs, or finishing a mini-game quickly. You can purchase 16 Park Souvenirs which are stored in a Display Case tab at the top of the screen.

There are seek and find puzzles in scenes all around the park, and even scenes where you find multiples of similar or related objects, Riddle Clue finds and clever Spot The Difference HO's.

Each scene has several Wildlife Animals to find that are shown as silhouettes in a box to the left of the word search bar and when all the animals have been spotted, the doors will close. There is a Wildlife Notebook that allows you to see illustrations of all the wildlife you have found.

You will also Recycle cans, bottles, and paper found in each scene, and when all recyclables have been found, the recycle Can icon will be displayed as full. Some of the trash items are located within Zoom Zones as well.

There are 16 Photo Op scenes that allow you to take a photo for your Album whenever you see the Camera Icon so don't forget to keep an eye out for those Photo Ops.

You will earn an Eagle Eye achievement if you don't use either the Hint Magnifying Glass that shows the location of a single random item or the Mega Hint feature which shows the location of all available items from the list. You'll earn a Bronze Star for completing the Search, a Silver Star if you find all Wildlife OR all Recyclable Items, and a Gold Star if you find all Wildlife AND all Recyclable items.

Words listed in Blue are Tasks that require an interaction of some type, and words in Red are hidden inside or behind things. Most of the scenes have at least one Zoom Zone (indicated by sparkling stars) that has hidden items and sometimes includes Recyclables or Wildlife. Levels can be replayed at any time to better your time/score or pick up missing recyclable items or wildlife. and the items to find are usually different each time you replay it.

After each Search Scene, you'll play a variety of fun little Mini Games such as Placing Map Shapes, Spot The Difference, Word Search, or several different types of Jigsaw Puzzles (Rotate Squares, Swap Tile Sections, Flipsaw's, Slider Puzzles, etc.)

I love the Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger games. They are beautiful games and relaxing to play. I have each one and when I see a new one, I buy it.
The movement of the various animals and birds flying and water flowing is stunning. I stop playing the game for a while and just look at the scenery. I can almost smell the fresh air.
Beautiful game.

If you've not yet tried this very entertaining HOG, check out the CE reviews. It is one of the best hidden object games we have at BFG. The graphics are always excellent and super colorful. It is so full of HOs, puzzles, activities that the SE will not leave you feeling short-changed. There are extra levels with the CE but you won't be missing any of the fun!

The park is beautiful, busy with park workers, sightseeing, lots of visitors, events for kids/families, lots of photo ops, friendly rangers always keeping an eye on things and occasional wildlife sightings. It is fun and educational and has great replay value. It's a long game, too. This is one the entire family can enjoy and there's not a monster or princess in sight. For me that is a great relief! I also like the real people visitors, a nice change from all the animation. The music is nice, good features/options, no tech issues.

Each Park Ranger game is basically the same, very few changes have been added along the way but I love it just the same and never tire of it, even at Number 13. The park seems like such a happy place. If it were real, my bags would be packed and I'd be on my way in a flash. I love the outdoors and living there, being a ranger is right up my alley, a permanent vacation! During these times of chaos what a lovely escape, even if it's just a game. Show less

I have all of this series but am hesitating to buy this one. I know which puzzles I like and which ones I hate. But the wait time to skip a puzzle is OVER TWO MINUTES!
I can't stand just sitting and waiting all that time. It's very long to just wait but not long enough to go get something else done.
The Skip button should be instantly available on every puzzle!

I recommend this game!

There is a programming flaw however in the jigsaw puzzles and drop my review to 4 stars because of this. The pieces can leave a gray shade on the board where they once lay disturbing the visual of one's board making it more difficult to see where pieces may go. ...Show more

the photos are so overdated. There are a few things like mobile phones, radios, cds and some other things that I am sure young kids would not recognize. These icons must be replaced.
Donot misunderstand me. I like this game very much. In fact I believe this series is the best straing H.O. game BUT....

I still like these games, though I grew tired of the snow in this one. Dion has put on a few pounds in his seniority. (I played number 14, standard edition, so I missed the Puerto Rico trip. And 14 is a better game than this one, in my opinion.) A mutual lunch/dinner invite and I think my character and Mr. Ranger are a thing. Why did they change the cursor to a magnifying glass? Liked the standard cursor that all the previous games had as an option. Other than that, ok VA: PR game.

Most of this game is the same as earlier versions. The HOPs are great. The scenes are varied and interesting. You have to find the extras like trash items, animals (silhouettes) and photo spots. All of that is fine and expertly done.

However, I feel this game gets lost in the woods when presenting the puzzles (in between the HOP scenes you'll play various puzzles). These can be rotating tiles, simple math problems, flora and fauna identification, find all the butterflies, spot the differences etc. Unfortunately, they have included (for my taste) far too many, and far too complex, jigsaw puzzles. I was thinking, "these belong in a jigsaw puzzle game." In fact, the jigsaw puzzles will take significantly longer to complete than the HOPs. Since this is (or used to be) primarily a HOP game, I find that to be way out of balance, and it turned me off to the rest of the game.

I am hoping this is not a sign of things to come. I used to look forward to the next Park Ranger game. Please drop (or cut way back on) the jigsaw puzzles next time. That will ensure that Mr/Ms Fun Factor will be found by Park Ranger 14 and returned to the family. We do love when a vacation has a happy ending. Show less
