I really like one of this dev's earlier sudoku releases: Sudoku Vacation 2. I play it after stressful days because it's relaxing. This game is very similar: nice lapping wave sounds and, well, sudoku levels, lots of them!

This one is different enough from the game I mentioned above to warrant having both if you're a sudoku fan (I'm a logic puzzle and numbers freak, so I like these). This one has four variants that are completely different from the three variants in the previous game. I like them because I think they could get quite challenging later on.

I admit that sometimes I relax a little bit too much in the Sudoku Vacation 2 game. Sometimes, when I don't pay attention and sleepily plop the wrong number in the wrong place, it makes this really loud alarm bell sound that jars me back to full consciousness. Not so in this game! The wake-up call has been replaced with a button that you can click on to find all errors (and no ringing bells).

Now for the bad. The most annoying thing I came across is that when I turned off the music, like I usually do in these games, there was a really annoying hum for some reason. I turned the music back on, it was that annoying. After a point, the music stops anyway, and the relaxing waves are back thankfully without the hum. I removed one star just for that hum alone.

I also liked less the color choices in one of the variants. There are some colors that I cannot distinguish between very well, so I ended up pretty much solving the Sudoku DG variant just like I would do most other variants. I admit I'm not very good at distinguishing colors, so it might just be me, but maybe I'm not alone. If I am not alone, perhaps the devs should consider choosing some hues with greater differences between them.

One question I have is if the grids ever get bigger? I hope so! The harder the challenge, the funner it is!

If you are out for extreme thrills and frills, consider that this is probably not the game for you. If you adore sudoku, this is probably a safe pick. Show less

If you love logic games this is a dream come true. They are extremely rare at BFG. Numbers have never been my forte, they bore me to the max yet I find them fascinating because they are so essential to life. I need more stimulation than numbers can provide, to keep me interested in a game.

I'm wondering how many folks this game will appeal to. Most play games as an escape or relaxation and don't want to overtax their minds. The 4 variants didn't seem very hard to grasp, the instructions were easy to understand, basically the same for all, slightly different visuals. I played the Anti Diagonal and struggled less than anticipated , but definitely had me flustered. I wanted to check out the others but was only able to find Bricks when I went to the Main Menu. Couldn't figure out how to access them. Obviously, I majorly missed something or maybe just a couple are available in the demo.

The game's format, mechanics are simple. The Hint and Error Check are absolutely necessary features and quickly provide assistance, with no wait time. Game rules are always at your fingertips. The boards are big, 2 font styles for the large easy-to-read numbers, no fancy graphics. I don't think Sudoku really needs a lot of frills to make it more appealing to its fans.

600 levels guarantees getting your money's worth, this will likely be the only one you'll ever need. I sure wish our Match 3 and Solitaire games had 600 levels! I can only dream of that happening with Art By Numbers. What a glorious day that would be! LOL

Great game, surely intimidating, if like me you aren't crazy about numbers. If you love logic based games Sudoku will fix you right up. I enjoy Sudoku in very small doses. Give me words and symbols and I'm Brainiac. Give me numbers and my brain just fizzles out! However, I did like the demo. I rate 3 stars only because numbers and me are not a good team. Show less

Way to easy, except for beginners maybe

It should be possible to choose a difficulty by these games. This one was way to easy. I played 12 levels in 20 minutes and then I was so bored I quit.
I liked the diagonal variant, but it made the sudoku even easier.
What I furthermore would want from a sudoku is that I could use the numeric of my keyboard and the arrows to navigate.

I don't recommend this game.
