Something must have happened to the second edition of Hidden Object: Home Makeover 2 because the first one was just released to BF a few weeks ago and this is apparently the third edition, what's up with that? I thought the original edition was very entertaining, but this edition isn't that entertaining so perhaps we're better off without the second edition. There's just too much going on in this game, they have added a "Quest" feature where you can earn extra hints and coins when you complete different quests such as buying a particular item for your garden. Instead of a Home Makeover, you are renovating your garden with plants, trees, fences, shrubs, fountains and other decorations. In order to buy items for the garden, you have to have sales, in the form of a seek and find game of course. The customers arrive and are shown with the random item they are in need of, along with the price they are willing to pay and 3 hearts. If you don't find the item quickly enough, the will become impatient and the hearts will diminish as well as the price they are willing to pay. You can choose to play this game in a Timed or Untimed mode, but you won't collect money for time remaining, and some Achievements may not be available in the untimed mode. Most of the scenes (15 different rooms available) show you a picture of the exact item you are looking for, but there are also Silhouetted Shape finds, descriptions of items, and even Memory scenes where the customer tells you several items they are looking for, then you search for those items by memory when the list disappears. There are also Match 3 games (not exciting in the least bit) where items the customers want can be collected by making matches below the item until they drop off the board. The first game was entertaining, this game not so much in my opinion. Show less

What is there to do but to hold a jumble sale?
The graphics are okay but the items to find are small and sometimes indistinguishable, particularly in the scenes where we apparently must read minds and find the objects by silhouettes, which in many cases are nothing more than splashes of shadows. The game has no voiceovers and it is ludicrous to watch speedy lip flapping with no sound. Not only are there no voiceovers, there are no other sounds aside from that constant repetitive music. When I turned off the music all I had was a game with no ambient sounds whatsoever. The settings are difficult to find and aside from early in the game when they popped up so that I could change my mode to relaxed and get rid of the timer, I could never find that particular screen again. If I hit what should be the options menu the only thing that I found was for the music, sound, or screen size.
Periodically in the game we have special quests to fulfill and those come along with some special games such as a memory game or a match 3. There might be more quest games but I couldn’t manage to play the game long enough to find out what those might be.
If you are looking for a game that has jumble sales so that you can decorate a house or upgrade your garden, then I suggest you look elsewhere. This is another of those games that are riddled with grammatical errors and where the devs just gave it a half-hearted effort. IMHO, the game could have been far better if the sound, including the addition of voiceovers, had been improved. There should have been an options menu that offered all of the settings up front and that could be easily accessed. Attention to detail is what makes a game stand out and Home Makeover 3 just doesn’t have it. Even though I didn’t care for the game, as always, please try the demo to see if this one is for you. Wish I'd played this first, instead of just buying because I liked the first one.
The constant dialogue is annoying. You have to go through numerous dialogue boxes to get back to the game.
You have to click to collect coins in the hidden object scenes, this messes with the flow.
The cost of décor objects vs the amount of coins earned is stingy.

I agree with the first two reviewers. As for the graphics I thought the objects were a little too small and not that easy to find. When I first loaded game I could not believe all the dialogue before game began. The first makeover game was more fun to play. Whatever happed to #2 makeover???

I've got all the garden scape and farm ones and I liked #1 of this line but what's with saying thee developers listened to feedback and made this one to please us.? I sure didn't say put 100's of pop dialogs to watch animate still figures flirting with each other. I'm sure no one else did either. It's weird that the extra challenges that you have to do then go back to cash in because it doesn't add the prize total to you bank. I think that is silly and time consuming. We already have gardenscape editions , why is a interior designer set to decorate her yard other than for the reason to use he handyman neighbor. True if I had a nice helpful handy man over my fence I'd find projects to invite him to help, instead of the little old an that does live next door to me, BUT what is his point here?
This looks like they jumbled so many things into one game including a match 3 game, you don't know what to do next. The little household helpful hints like the last game #1 are fun but I don't think I'll buy this one unless of course the real hidden object is to find edition #2 in there.

I am very disappointed with this game. I was hoping for more. For one there are spiders everywhere, I don't see the need for this. I hate spiders, so this has turned me off. In a word disappointed. Having played the first in what I thought would be a set couldn't find number 2. When no 3 popped up got excited. The no 3 game was shallow, intro conversations took too long and some objects difficult to find being either too dark or too light against respective backgrounds. Played for the hour free trail. Would not buy or recommend this game to others. Was disappointed.
