Madame Fate definitely played her hand with this twisted plot! Turns out, I've been deemed insane, sent to the Manchester Institute, and placed in the same cell that Alister Dalimar once called home! It's a good thing I have a few books here to occupy my time, 1001 Straitjacket knots, Going Nuts 101 and Never lose an argument with yourself, wait, ain't nobody got time for this, I've got a real madman to stop! Alister Dalimar has stood the test of time for ages, and his great granddaughter's Charlotte and Gwendolyn are still by his side to help him accomplish his evil doings. It's time to unlock the secrets hidden behind the doors of the House That Love built, the Key to Alister's soul must be broken!
I knew my favorite Mystery Case Files game would continue, but what a surprise so soon eh? I still have one complaint, well maybe two. I want fantastic Morphs that this series is known for, and the collectible Ravens were so much better than collecting 40 Lighthouses, what's up with that? At least they brought back Alister's Enigma with those progressively difficult puzzles to tinker with, and of course there are a ton of Plus sign inventory items to combine. This Collector's Edition also has 11 different Achievements to earn as well.
The Hidden Object Scenes are really entertaining, ranging from interactive list finds, to progressive silhouetted shapes where you find items that match the silhouetted shapes and then use the items within the scene, solving various puzzles and zoom zone mini HOP's. To put it lightly, they are fantastic.
The Mini Games however, is what stands MCF apart from the crowd, they are clever, fun, multi-layered and yes even complicated at times. The following is a list of brief descriptions of some of the games you will encounter:
1) Rotate 4 triangles to achieve the correct shapes shown.
2) Correctly arrange dolls according to their disorders.
3) Connect wires with matching symbols.
4) Move a token along every line without overlapping.
5) A Pac-Man type game where you move your choice of character to gather all pills without being caught.
6) Move tokens to their matching slots.
7) Enter the code on the keypad using a diagram.
This Collector's Edition has 11 Achievements, 15 replayable Hidden Object Puzzles, 21 replayable Puzzles, 10 Movie Videos, 8 Concept Art photos, 8 Wallpapers, Behind the scenes, 7 Music Soundtracks, 40 Collectible Lighthouses, a Souvenir Room, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy your stay! If you have enjoyed all the Ravenhearst games as I have, you may be ready for what could be the final installment in the series. I have to say, I am not ready.

I am still confused as to what is going on, but I second the suggestion of another reviewer that you replay the earlier chapters of the Ravenhearst saga before you tackle this one.
Others will tell you the plot and all about the game elements. I will tell you that if you enjoyed the earlier chapters, you will swoon over this one. Be prepared for as much sinister craziness as you can stand from the Master of Ravenhearst and his twin granddaughters.
Try the demo and find the feast you were looking for this holiday weekend!

Well I wasn't expecting this and my jaw hit the keyboard when I saw this game come out. This game follows on from 'MCF Keys to Ravenhearst' and I bought it instantly. Its best that you play these two games together as they tie in with each other.
In the main game you play Master Detective (yourself) and in the Bonus game you play Alister Dalimar.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue);
* Regular, Hard, Insane and Custom modes of play);
* Interactive map;
* 11 Achievements;
* Collect 40 lighthouses (in game and bonus);
* Lots of extras.
In Custom mode you can turn everything off like Hint and Skip to made it as hard as you like. I love that feature.
The graphics are just superb - very clear, yet dark and gritty. I loved the ambiance and would stop at every scene to have a good look around.
Sound is very good. The music is gorgeous - orchestral and very haunting which fitted with the game nicely.
The hidden object games are highly interactive straightforward and silhouette. These had a very good challenge to them. The HOS are very clear to see, however you will be busy with them because there is a lot to do.
There were a huge amount of mini-games to play, all of which had a very good challenge, however they are not too hard or frustrating.
There are also six super puzzles to do. The second super puzzle is quite diabolical and I spent over an hour on that one. Even then, I had to look in the Strategy Guide to finish it. However, the rest of them are not as hard and I finished them without help. There is no timer on them and you don't have to do anything in one particular order. These are my ultimate favourite to do.
There are 40 lighthouses to find in the game and bonus. Most of these were easy to find, but a few took me a while to get them. However, if you don't feel like finding them in the game or miss a few, don't worry because you can do these in the Extras.
In the Extras you have a Souvenir Room where you need to collect all the 30 items, replay all the HOPS and mini-games - get a perfect score and you get an achievement - and find any lighthouses you missed or wanted to play later.
All up the game and bonus took me over 12 hours to play, so well worth your hard earned money. I'm definitely playing this game again.
This game is so worth playing and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Definitely recommended. Happy playing fishies. Show less

For me, a good game is like good food. I love food, enjoy cooking and eating out. And I like trying new dishes, new spices, new ingredients.
MCF Key to Ravenhearst was a feast, something very special, you don’t have it every week, not even every month.
Yet, four weeks later another feast was served: MCF Ravenhearst Unlocked.
First I’ve gobbled the new game up, I wanted to know how the story continues, I wanted to beat the game too quickly. And I felt too full too soon.
That was a mistake, so I created a new profile and played, as others have suggested, very slowly and in short installments.This is slow, not fast food.
Luckily, I didn’t experience any glitches eating from, hm, playing on iMac, Yosemite.
Now I was able to enjoy this 7-course menu, to taste, appreciate and digest all the different ingredients, from the „amuse-bouche“, the captivating opening, on to the main and the intermediate courses to the dessert:
Fantastic scenery and sound, the variations of HO’s, the varied mini games (some of them were new to my taste buds), the varied difficulty, the hilariously funny bits as the recipes in the apothecary or the book titles. Some tasks looked like they were going to be rather difficult, but they were easy but still very well seasoned.
The super puzzles were an extra treat:
Usually I don’t read the menu, well, the instructions for super puzzles, I want to find out on my own which ingredients are used or needed. But here, I admit, I had to, I got lost sometimes, but I enjoyed this a lot.
The challenge exceeded my expectations, I haven’t tasted so much gaming fun with MCF Key to Ravenhearst and MCF Ravenhearst Unlocked for a long time.
In addition to 5 stars I would like to award both games with three chef hats. Two more hats to go, storyline and CE extras could be more refined.
The games compliment each other, you can enjoy them on their own, the double bill is no must, but I recommend it highly.
Bon appétit! Enjoy your game-meal! Show less

Due to some pc troubles around here it took me some time to get to this trial but I am very happy I came back to it! I honestly can't find one thing in this game that I wasn't happy with.
EXCELLENT JOB to the developers!!! I can't wait to play more.

I can tell you this is the best game of the series of Mystery Case Files! Besides Dire Grove also a favorite.
This one shows an amazing creepy story about her (the detective) being sent to an abandoned psychiatric hospital and one of the twins wants to kill her, so you have to escape from the hospital to Ravenhearst to stop the crazy evil man.
Awesome graphics and great creepy storyline.
