Uncle Aaron Penguin is coming to visit, and Mrs. Penguin is getting a little stressed, the house needs an overhaul!

This is a griddler or mosaic type puzzle game where you fill in and cross of cells on various sized grids, using logic. There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to figure out where numbers can't possibly fit to reduce the amount of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit. Some cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed or an extra pickaxe which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on. There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.

The one feature that makes Fantasy Mosaics stand out from the rest of the griddler games, is the vibrant array of colors available. It can also help you solve the puzzle when you get stuck, because you can switch to another color which ultimately narrows down the available cells. Unlike many griddler games, these pictures actually make sense, because they have three different colors you know what image you have created. Every step you take in this Fantasy will help the Penguins decorate their humble abode.

If you make no mistakes, you will earn a Gold Trophy regardless of the time it takes to complete the puzzle, a Silver Trophy is earned if you make one mistake, and a Bronze Trophy is earned if you make 2 mistakes. You can replay the grid as often as you want in order to improve your trophy status. This series is one of the best available, and certainly the most colorful. This is a must have game for griddler geeks and an immediate purchase for this geek, enjoy! Show less

The penguin family is back, this time staying close to home. They are expecting a visit from their uncle and must furnish and decorate their home in anticipation. Every game in this series is a winner and this one is no exception.

Each grid is worked in 3 colors. Being able to switch among the three colors during play allows moves to still be made even if one color is at a stalemate.

The pictures created by filling in the grid are vibrant and easily recognized. After a series of grids are completed (10) then an item is added to the house. Three levels of stars are awarded to the playing of each grid, based on the number of errors made. Zero errors earns a gold star, one error a silver and two or more a bronze. Grids can be replayed as often as you want, which is great for me, as I want nothing but gold stars. LOL.

There are two modes of play, based on how the number of filled-in tiles are highlighted next to the columns/rows. In the easier mode, each time a set of numbers is completely filled in, that number next to the row/column turns to black. In the harder mode, none of the numbers next to the rows/columns are blacked out until the row/column is totally complete.

I still haven't finished number 12 in this series, as these games are very long. But I can't pass up another one or my set would not be complete. LOL.

This is another great game in a great series. Show less

My favorite game and it definitely doesn't disappoint. Easy to use with a MAC (no problems with the mouse) and skill level is higher than I've experienced before in this series. I bought it without the free hour and am glad I did! Enjoy!

It's the same as the previous Fantasy Mosaics, but in my opinion it is one of the best series out there for this type of game. It's an instant buy for me whenever they come out with a new one.

The Fantasy Mosaics series has made me fall in love with nonograms!!
I am someone who has difficulty visualizing spacial orientation, and these puzzles are not only helpful exercising that skill, but they're fun, and the pictographs are clever and adorable! The Fantasy Mosaics series has made me fall in love with nonograms!!
I am someone who has difficulty visualizing spacial orientation, and these puzzles are not only helpful exercising that skill, but they're fun, and the pictographs are clever and adorable! The backgrounds are beautifully colored, and i always look forward to seeing the the "reward" for each tier. It's a nice, quiet game, suitable for relaxation; the music (which is adjustable) is nice, but i personally prefer it off. The penguin companion is adorable, and will chirp occasionally.
Overall, it's a nice, quiet, fun game, great for down-time or focus, and is easy on the eyes, as well as quick to learn!!
(following may be a mini-spoiler for some!!)
As much as i love this game, i would change 2 details, because i find them frustrating; with all of the stunning colors in the backgrounds and the "rewards" areas, it's frustrating that the puzzles seem to use such a small selection/variation, and i hate that the titles of the "trophies" don't show after their initial presentation.
Otherwise, i am a HUGE FAN, and will continue to play the series as each chapter is presented...

This game has made the day just perfect!

Mr. Penguin has returned with another Mosaic (AKA O’Ekaki, Griddlers, Paint-by-Numbers, Pic-a-Pix, Nonograms or whatever you call them) puzzle game. I LOVE these games and this developer is the BEST creator of them in this family of games.

HOW TO PLAY: This is variety of a Sudoku puzzle. In this puzzle, create pictures by filling in squares in a grid. The grids in this game will vary in number from 10 x 10 to 20 x 20 if it is like past games. However, not having played the entire game, the grids may vary. Each side of the grid will have numbers for each line of squares indicating the amount of squares which are to be filled in for that line of squares. Squares are filled in where the squares intersect between the two sets of numbers on each side.

• Levels: Casual and Advanced. The casual version has a tutorial which helps you in playing the game.

• Colors: The game has three (3) colored screens which can be switched at any time while playing the puzzle.

• Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. However, you can use your mouse to right click “X’s” for unused spaces.

• Hints: Hints are given as you proceed and are based on the difficulty of the puzzle and how well you perform in solving the grid

• Number of Levels and Puzzles: There are 100 puzzles – 20 levels with 5 puzzles per level in the game.

• Aids: You have a pickax as an aid in the game

• Awards: There are 3 trophies: a gold trophy for no mistakes, a silver trophy for 1 mistake, and a bronze trophy for two mistakes. If you make 3 mistakes, you must start the game over again.

• Collectibles. When you complete one level of 5 puzzles, you receive an item to place in your home to spruce it up for Great Uncle Aaron.

I highly recommend this game if you like Sudoku games or any type of mathematical or logic puzzle. Show less
