It seems everyone's catching on to the three color mosaic games, just when Mr. Penguin finds a fourth color! This is a very relaxing griddler game, the music is very soothing, the colors are beautiful, and each puzzle makes an obvious picture when completed such as a Sailboat, a Blowfish or a Sea Turtle. The object of this game is the same as other mosaics or griddler games, fill in the cells with the correct numbers as shown on both the columns and rows. Each group of numbers must be separated by at least one empty cell. Sometimes it's easier to figure out which cells can't possible be filled in, to reduce the possible filled cells. Some cells contain extra hints, some contain coins that can be used to upgrade your royal Kingdom, which can be accessed at anytime by clicking on the castle icon located on the top left of the screen. If you get stuck, you can switch to another color, use an available hint, or, once the Amulet has been fully charged, you can get a mega hint which fills in four random cells for you!
I love the colorful graphics, especially the puzzles that are in the sea, it's kind of like a live wallpaper where all the sea creatures swim around. There are 4 different Kingdoms you will solve puzzles in that represent the four elements, Water, Air, Fire and Earth. I'm really impressed with this mosaic game, I love the themes and the puzzles aren't too hard or too easy, so give it a try, enjoy! Show less

What a lovely surprise - a mosaic game or griddler that requires NO guessing or living by a hint button; with over half the game fully completed, its been logic-only all the way. This is one very relaxing and enjoyable addition in the games library for those who have a love for this genre.
With a clean uncluttered layout, each completed grid depicts a picture that is decipherable , unlike some mosaic games where you have to have a vivid imagination at times. While the current finished grids are not always inspiring, its hardly a reason to avoid this lovely gem of a game - perhaps in the not too distant future, bigger and better pictures will be introduced thereby increasing in difficulty for us seeking really tough grids. Let's hope so!
A refreshing change to the colours often used go some way into bringing about and creating that 'relaxing' feel mentioned previously, easy-on-the-eye muted tones along with soothing music creates this wonderful ambience - it really IS a joy. The story is fairly acceptable, not a riveting mystery but then this game isn't a detective story....its a logic game and it succeeds at that. And.... I'm extremely happy to see how unlike Fantasy Mosaic where descriptions given are 'something' of Reborn or chimney of comfort, making a farce of English grammar with the result, what is being said makes for utter nonsense - in this game correct grammar IS present, .
One or two reviewers have asked if there are too many mosaic games coming through at the moment; given how usually there is a profuse shortage of them, i wouldn't agree there is....in fact, when compared to the number of new HOG's in any one month, the number of new Brain Teasers or puzzles shown are negligible. Good to excellent Mosaics are a rarity, so when a treasure of a game such as this one is, comes along, its an opportunity not a curse. Thing to note is that even with the recently launched Fantasy mosaics #14, the creators of that series STILL make errors which leave the gamer having no choice but to 'guess' or hit the hint button to complete grids which SHOULD be purely solved using logic - with this game neither guessing nor living by the hint button is necessary. Another point is the English in FM is poor at best, and producing a game that tramps over a language leaving nothing but a mish-mash of gooble-de-gook, is a travesty in this day and age.
The Far Kingdoms offers a lot for your money - NO GUESSING, relaxing music carrying you through each level, beautiful graphics, smooth game-play, and a plethora of enjoyment for a few hours - now that is something to celebrate!

Far Kingdoms Magic Mosaics is another of the games in the Far Kingdoms series but most of the have different themes such as match 3, solitaire and now mosaic or pictograms as they are also called.
The Far Kingdoms games have absolutely gorgeous background graphics and this one is no different. The game begins as we meet a mage who has accidentally crossed a portal and he asks your help so that he can return to his own place – wherever that might be. As you play through the various boards you will visit different venues as you help the mage restore his magic runes. In the game the first land we see is a gorgeous underwater place. In this level you will help Neptune find 20 items before he can help you find the magic rune. Since there are 4 runes – earth, water, fire, and air – I imagine we will visit these different vistas to restore the runes. As we play through the various levels we earn coins that can be used to purchase upgrades to our kingdom.
I love this game and think it is a worthy competitor to those other mosaic games that I love. If you enjoy the mosaic, pictogram, nanogram or whatever it is you happen to call these puzzles then I recommend that you try The Far Kingdoms Magic Mosaics. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I do and will agree that it is an excellent game. Show less

I have been waiting so long for another game of the same quality as World Mozaics Chroma!
Puzzles which are well-constructed that rely on logic to solve them.
Puzzles which rely on having to guess or use clues to solve are poorly constructed in my book and very frustrating.
Well done, developers and please keep them coming!I

The graphics are lush and beautiful. My only wish is that the animations could be turned on or off. Some of them are really distracting, at least to me. I listen to Pandora while I play, so can't comment on the music. Even the best of it gets tiresome after a while.
This is not the hardest griddler out there, but not the easiest, either. I find the challenge similar to Fantasy Mosaics, easier than the rest. MUCH easier than the hair-pullingly difficult 8-Floor games. The more colors, the easier, they seem. Except World Mosaics Chroma.
The storyline is about par for this type of game. That was good with World Mosaics and Gizmo - they actually had real stories that compelled me to keep playing.
To me, for a fairly easy, relaxing griddler, this beats Fantasy hands down. Why? The mechanics! If you accidentally hit a wrong square in FM, too bad, and the mouse is tetchy in FM to boot. This game allows you to back out of a bad move as long as you haven't let go of the mouse button. The play is smooth and flows, no jerkiness or hesitation. It also has autofill when a row is done. Best of all, it doesn't have those annoying conundrums that require guessing or using hints that FM has way too many of. (Don't get me wrong, I own all 14 of the FMs!) I also like the integrated appearance of the art of the runes, etc. I think the progress rewards in FM are just plain weird. In 13 it was the flat panel TV in the candlelit cottage. In 14 it was all those stoner animals, LOL.
There are a couple of things that could be improved. As others have mentioned, the numbers are pale and often fade into the background. For those of us with older eyes, that's a problem. I also wish the columns and rows lit up more when you move over them. That especially helps on larger grids, like the 20x20 ones.
As someone who started out on paper and pencil grids, I enjoy the ease of playing these. But I wish ALL the developers would give us a chance to turn OFF the limits on mistakes. I play to relax and give my brain a workout, not for achievements or a score. I really don't care about that, and hate it when I'm almost done, make a fatal mistake and have to start over!
Last of all, Fat Boy, one of my cats, LOVES the animations of the coins flying into the treasury. He sits on my desk and watches for them. >^..^< Show less

The colors are fun to work with and change from puzzle to puzzle. The backgrounds are not static, and the worlds they create are mesmerizing. The story is entertaining. They know how to do mosaics. It's hard to pick which world I liked best because I liked them all. I appreciated that the fish in the undersea world were not overly cartoonish. They looked like real fish. But I also like the flowing lava in the fire element world and the flowing crystal waterfall at the end. I didn't think anything would ever beat the Fantasy Mosaic games in this category, but this did it. Even though the puzzles are on the easy side, this is now my favorite mosaic game of all time. What I really love about the game are the graphics. I haven’t seen such good background work since the first 4 Elements. They change twice or three times within one level, and are different for each level, too. Biscuitsmama is right; they change for each new character.
It actually has a plot! A very simple one, but there are 5 characters that actually talk to you! (I don’t know if there are voiceovers; I was listening to the radio.)
Another nice thing is that, after you finish the puzzle, they actually tell you what the pictures are meant to represent! When I looked and said, “What the heck is that,” I could find out by looking above the score window.
There are only 4 levels, which is, I suppose, why the puzzles are so easy. I thought about withholding a star for that, but flipped a coin and didn’t. I want to encourage these devs to make more mosaics!! Show less

I love the way you need to think about where the colored blocks could be hidden, and trying to figure out what the picture could be. I try every game like this when I find it at Big Fish. I enjoy some more than others. Saying that, you would think it would be hard to impress me. This game, however, outshines other similar games. It has fantastic backgrounds; the emerging pictures are keyed to the background (like the seahorse in the underwater background). The music is soothing, and I even keep it on. (Many games have irritating music) With the coins you win by finishing a puzzle, you upgrade your kingdom. Other games have you decorate your 'home', but not with the superior graphics that are in this game. I almost didn't want to stop playing so I could write this review! I bought this right away.
