I'm not sure why this game is getting so many low reviews. I'm having a great time playing the game!
The scenery and graphics are wonderful, the music is beautiful, it's not an overly purplish, pinkish fantasy game and it's not an ugly broken down bug infested scary game it's just a lovely save the world, relatively easy breezy fantasy type game. No overt violence, no cutesy helpers just a bracelet you use from time to time. You do interact with characters in the game which for me is a big fat plus!! Because of the interaction with characters, there is a lot of dialogue which you can easily and quickly skip so I don't see how that's a problem.
The mini-games were fun, not too hard and not too easy, just fun and relaxing. The Hidden object scenes were very fun and interactive. I find nothing to fault with this game. I truly am amazed that more people are not enjoying the game as much as I am, considering the utter junk we've been privy to lately!

I play to have fun and relax and this game with its lovely music and cohesive storyline and fun games help me do just that!

I've played bad games before, and this isn't one of them.

It's actually a good game, decent length, and mostly easy puzzles and HOPs. The setting is a bit dystopian, with science fiction-like creatures with big floppy ears, and a blind Athena-like queen.

Expert mode disables Hint & Skip, but has helpful messages, which is plenty of guidance for experienced fishies. Most actions to take are ...Show more

I did not find the story disjointed. It's actually pretty creative, but some of the explanations about the story framework are superfluous and does not add to the action or suspense.

This is a highly playable game, and enjoyable. Show less

I agree this was an great game and I own hundreds. The hidden object and puzzles were different from the norm and the story had me interested from the start. Excellent game.

The graphics are good in this game, I can't say they were the best.You have the ability to choose between 4 types of game play, including customizing it to your own liking.

The HOP's were varied, most were list (after finding an object that will open the list for you). You also have the opportunity to play an alternate game, which is putting the triangles in the right place (you have to rotate some). I enjoy this in a game as it gives the player the ability to mix it up a bit if you grow tired of the HOP's. There were also a number of 'books' to read & then find the item on the page that's highlighted in the story. There were a few 'find the pieces around the room' as well. None of these posed any real challenge.

The mini-games were some of the easiest I've ever played. I think I only skipped one (I was eating lunch & didn't really care). Therefore, I'm not even going to discuss them here. Use a bit of logic & memory & you've solved it.

There's a jump-map, which isn't necessary. The game never goes beyond three screens at any given time. I noticed one reviewer who said she was bothered by all the 'loading' wait time. As I was playing, it didn't really bother me - until I got close to the end; then I saw what she meant. It did get tedious waiting for the next scene to load.

This is a basic game for those who may just be starting out in this genre. I suppose you could toughen it up by not using any hints or skips, but the game is so simplistic that I didn't even use them anyway. So I will recommend this game, but for you experts out there, DON'T.

I know they are large games, but why they haven't figured out a way to avoid this huge annoyance, is beyond me! In case you're interested, here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:

The Queen of Creation creates the history of the Universe on her Canvases of Eternity, but what if somebody were to steal one of the Canvases? Would you still exist? Would the World still exist? Would a new reality be created to take its place, or would there just be emptiness? These are scenarios Alice Carpenter does not want to see happen in her lifetime, but time is of the essence, or there may be no worlds left for a Guardian to protect!

There is a gadget, which can be either good news or bad news, depending on your preference. (only used 7 times) Alice is equipped with the Guardian's Bracelet, which is a magic bracelet that possesses powers of 3 elements. The Red Gem invokes a Fireball, the Blue Gem creates a Frost Sphere, and the Green Gem allows you to move heavy objects.

In the Collector's Edition version, there are hidden Feathers to find, Mythological Creatures which increase your rank, and Crystals to collect that allow you to access the Spectra History Room, to learn the secrets of the Spectra World by unlocking parts of the story with the discovered Crystals. This is an okay feature, but I'd prefer the Morphing Puzzle pieces, that EleFun Games used to include within all their CE games.

The Hidden Object Scenes include those famous EleFun scenes where you find a handful of fragments located around the entire scene. There are also Interactive List Finds, Multiple Finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, and several HOP's where you find Keywords in Sentence finds. They do offer an alternate Triangular shaped Puzzle game, if you're not into the HOP's.

The Mini Games tend to be on the easy breezy side, and most of them can be considered HOP's as well. In my opinion, they don't present any challenge whatsoever. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Find multiple symbols shown, hidden on pages in a book.
2) Find matching pairs of feathers.
3) Drag fragments to recreate the images.
4) Find matching pairs of related objects on canvases.
5) Use arrows to switch scenes, finding and replacing items.
6) Change your clothes to match the outfit on the poster.

The Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art pictures, 3 Screensavers, 35 Music Soundtracks (really, why?) 19 Achievements to Earn, 16 Bestiary Mythological Creatures to help you rank up, 6 hidden Feather's, 20 hidden Crystals that allow you to learn secrets of the Spectra World, 5 Main Chapters + Bonus Chapter, and a built in Strategy Guide.

Although we see some unnecessary videos, e.g. Alice who steps into the portal, and in spite of much dialogue with repeated information, we generally may rejoice: the colours are back! also the squeaky voices and other little jokes. For example, we can win a witches' beauty contest with the most abominable pic.
Hidden objects, too, are colourful and inventive as they used to be in good times - well, some of them. Many feature the storybook style and resemble more a mini game to put misplaced objects back. There is as always much background information to gain from notes (and voices) in HOPs.

The story is an amusing, slightly muddled hotchpotch with figures from various tales; we meet a snobbish Yoda, a centaur, golems, fairies, of course a dragon and, most important, one of the Parcae, Norns or Sisters of Fate. Usually they appear threesome, but here we have one single Queen of Creation who weaves the canvases of time and history ... and she is blind. Oddly, she seems to partake in the same Mannequin Challenge as Queen Bella and doesn't alter the stiff pose of her outstreched arm once.

The baddie Solas - fortunately for once not a muscleman with rams horns - looks like the shady manager of a slot machine hall with a secretive side business in drugs and women. “A solas” means all alone in Spanish – but Solas is not alone, he is possessed by his evil ancestor who can ignite little fires in his eye sockets. Solas has to use a lot of perfume to cover the ancestor's bad smell :D But the new order or “New Reality” he intends to create is quite an exciting sight: a snowy, gothic city with cool, bluish and greenish neon signs everywhere. Don't forget to click on them!

This could have been a good game. The graphics convey darkness without being dark and depressing. It's humorous and quite fun to play, albeit the puzzles being too easy. But alas, the music ;_;
I wrote at length in the CE critique why it is not a good idea to pour background sound over every scene, especially not the music of my favourite composer. I hope Alice will be able to exorcise this Tyrant of Bad Taste who seemingly now possesses Elefun. For now I deducted one star for the constant acoustic irradiation and another one for the unnecessary shooting of a living crow.

Also annoying is the fact that we still cannot read the credits due a lacking stop button. Elefun obviously thinks that's not important. But I want to know who played the dwarf! It's my right as customer to be able to read the credits. Oh dear - they're additionally possessed by the Ifrit of Idle Indifference! Elefun must be quite a romping ground for spirits of all kind ...
