Did you enjoy the previous Happy Chef games? Then you'll love this one, too! These games rank as some of my all time favourites. Fast paced, fun, and I love how each level is noticeably more of a challenge than the previous level.
Many of the reviews say the game is too challenging, that the customer's patience runs out too soon. Like I said, I love these games. I play them over and over and over. So, here's some of the things I've learned:
- Choose the customer patience upgrades first! Once all the patience upgrades have at least two stars, then start with the food upgrades.
- Can you make food before a customer orders it? DO IT. In the first area, for example, you make sandwiches and omelets. Make sure you always have three sandwiches and three omelets ready for to go. This will cut down on wait time for your customers.
- As soon as a customer orders something, start the cooking process to replenish the item you're about to serve. Using the first area as an example again, anytime a customer orders a sandwich, immediately get a new piece of meat cooking on the grill.
- You don't have to pick up the money as soon as a customer leaves. If you're getting swamped, leave two or three stacks of coins on the counter until you've got everything under control.
This game is incredibly true to the previous two games. The major difference I can see is an improvement in the game's graphics. If you loved the other games, give this one a try! Show less
I recommend this game!

I played the trial of this and by level 2 I knew I would be buying it. It is challenging and fun. The levels get harder and harder as you go along. I found it exciting and addicting. I don't really follow the story lines on any games so I can't comment on that for this game, I skipped it. The effects are good. Overall I definitely recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I've never been a fan of Click & Drag types of Time Management games, so for me, this was just an okay game, neither bad nor good. I've never been a fan of Click & Drag types of Time Management games, so for me, this was just an okay game, neither bad nor good. You can play in a Relaxed or Normal Mode of Difficulty, and there are 100 Achievements to earn. Every time you earn an Achievement you will also earn a Golden Ladle which can be used to purchase various Kitchen Improvements.
In this CE version, there is a Survival Mode feature that allows you to play an Endless Mode. You get 3 Lives in Survival Mode, and you continue to play non-stop for Points (not Coins) until you lose 3 customers. This CE version also has 3 Wallpapers available to download, which isn't really all that special when you consider that this version costs twice as much as the SE version!
Customers arrive at the counter with a thought bubble of food or beverages they desire. The kitchen is a food prep table located in front of the counter, and you need to prepare the food exactly as shown on their thought bubble including appropriate condiments and sides. After the food is correctly prepared, you click the item(s) and drag it to the correct customer, and click the coins they leave on the counter to allow room for other customers. You can replay any level to try for an expert status score, and in the Mini-Game section, you can earn extra coins, by moving the character to collect various food and bonuses before the timer runs out.
There is a Hot Plate for grilling certain meats and veggies, and if you leave the food on the grill too long, it will burn and you'll have to throw it away. In the Workshop prep area, food items need a two-step process. Omelets need to be flipped halfway through cooking, and omelets can also burn if left in the skillet too long or isn't flipped in time. After each level, you can use the coins you earned to buy food items that are more elaborate which customers are willing to pay more for. Each food item can be upgraded 3 times.
Upgrades can be made to the Kitchen's Interior, such as chairs, tables, lamps etc. that will improve customer's patience levels, which ultimately net larger tips. In the Kitchen Aids section, you can use the Ladles you earned with Achievements, to purchase automated features that will help with trivial tasks, such as preparing quick meals, automatically collecting the money, or removing burnt food automatically.
If you like the click-hold-drag type of Diner-Dash Time Management games, I think you will enjoy Happy Chef because it is a well-made game with good feathers otherwise. However, I just don't see a Collector's Edition value and would recommend the Standard Edition version over this Collector's Edition version, if you can wait a month or so for its release.

I enjoyed the game, it's a typical time management game so I didn't quite understand why it was a collector's edition. It's really not worth the CE title or price though. There aren't really any collectibles or extras that warrant the extra bucks. I'll get this in the SE version because it doesn't seem like there would be a big difference in quality or length of the game.
I don't recommend this game.

I love the idea of this game, but I prefer to play games in relaxed mode, and the relaxed mode isn't really relaxed. The customers still lose patience quickly. Also, having to drag the food to the plates takes up a lot of time. It would be better if you simply clicked the food and it automatically went to the plate. Honestly, I chose a username just to review this game. I found it awful. It looks adorable and seems like it would be fun but the click and drag mechanics are clearly designed for toddlers playing on Mom's computer/device.
I don't know how else this Happy Chef line of games would become as popular as Big Fish claims it to be.
