Shortly after a historic peace treaty between the two worlds was signed, a horrible aging virus known as Senekta started spreading among the citizens of our world. Just like that, Henrik an ambassador from the other world, the Cities, offered a cure to this strange disease in exchange for our children. The catch is that the cure does not work and it's up to you Elva to discover the real antidote! Is this an evil scheme planned by the Cities or just a pure coincidence? Reflections of Life takes us on a unique Sci-Fi Fantasy adventure with this sixth sequel. Screams and Sorrow has a great premise, presenting a story about conflicts between the two parallel worlds in such an interesting and unconventional manner. When your colleague Michael becomes infected after being stung by a wasp carrying the Senekta virus which in an instant causes him to age rapidly; you realize this disease poses a threat which could easily become an global epidemic. So you seek out Nova (Michael's assistant) who has knowledge of a magic scepter which may help you find a way to heal everyone who's been infected by Henrik's Senekta virus. It won't be an easy task as you learn that Nova has been kidnapped by Henrik's henchmen. Time is running out....will you be able to save everyone and stop Henrik? This is a face paced thriller with an engaging storyline with objective aspects in Screams and Sorrow that are quite on-point. The gameplay does not divert much from the HOPA format we are familiar with, but there are enough smart twists and turns to hook us in. The adventure part involves a fair share of backtracking, which reasonably adds to the challenge of the game. The hidden object scenes are also delightfully creative and often times help progress the storyline so that you don't become uninterested. Similarly, the puzzles are mostly clever, although I have seen most of them countless times before. You also have an owl helper in the game, which in my opinion is a harmless addition, but some player may find unnecessary. This installment totally owns the visuals game. The artwork is incredibly detailed and the architectures in the game offer some real stunning sights. The rich colors and the extravagant special effects also worked to enhance the fantasy experience and successfully kept me glued to the screen from start to finish.
Whether you chose the SE or CE version you definitely get your money's worth of gameplay. The main game took me around 5 hours to complete. If you decide on the Collector’s Edition, the game includes a 50-minute bonus chapter, wallpapers, soundtracks, concept art, videos, replayable hidden object scenes, replayable mini-games, achievements, collectibles, and a hidden puzzle. Cheers!

The first few scenes are not representative of the game play as a whole and I thought I had made a mistake until my character started to visit the other cities. The play is not too demanding, the hidden object games are nicely varied and the few puzzles are logical. It's a relatively laid back game which does not suffer from the frustration inherent in some other games ( for example, getting stuck in a scene because I missed something minor and well hidden several scenes earlier!). I also enjoyed the occasional touches of humor. Not a really challenging game, but not too simple either. Show less

There were a few times what I had to do or use in a scene made zero sense but overall things flowed well and made logical sense.
The game starts off a bit slow and the graphics don't really wow you until after the demo so if you just go by that you'll be missing out!
I highly recommend this game

You are also able to customize your settings, letting the player decide how long before skips & hints recharge, as well as a mis-click penalty (that's for if you're incredibly talented at these games, or if you're dumb enough to try it).
The HOP's were pretty standard, & you play each scene twice. I get bored with that at times, but they mixed up what you had to find fairly well. A great part of this game is "Steam Punk", so take that into consideration before you buy.
There is also the ability to play Match 3 instead of the HOP's. That's usually only available in Collector's Editions, so I really liked that aspect of the game play. Don't be deceived, though. The Match 3 is tougher than you'd expect it to be. I took the time to carefully study the board, & there was only one match 3 on the board.
The Mini-Games were varied; some really simple, some that made you think, & several puzzles as well.
If you love the other Reflection games, you'll love this one as well. I would recommend this game to intermediate to beginners; you Pros out there, get the Collector's Edition. Show less

The story behind this game is that when the "sages" were able to open a connection/door to another world, we soon had a "plague" appear. The story behind this game is that when the "sages" were able to open a connection/door to another world, we soon had a "plague" appear. This disease rapidly ages people, and there was no cure until Henrik, the supposed savior of the other world, offers a cure in exchange for some of the children (12 and under, I believe). I don't know what was told to the families, but when they got the cure, it didn't work. Our character, Elva, is called in to help develop a cure and stop the bad guy.
The game started off decently enough. I love the visuals in this game. The different locations all looked lovely! The sound was okay. The level of challenge? I didn't think it was too difficult. Fun factor? I was undecided during the first little bit, as I couldn't find myself "connecting" with Michael, who we are supposed to work with to create the cure. He and his girlfriend, Nova, have been working hard since the beginning of the outbreak to develop a cure and save the people. At the start, I kept having the same line repeated at me after I reached a certain point until I gave him what he wanted. He didn't even react to the soldiers trying to kidnap another kid from his doorway... Honestly, the villain barely beat him for my least liked character of the game. But that's just my opinion. Nova doesn't really do much except get captured or occasionally hand us things. By the end of the game, I wasn't really invested in either Michael or Nova. I liked the one store owner from the beginning, that one guy in the bar, and the one guy asking for flowers more than them. Again, that's my opinion.
One of my favorite parts of this game was the "Helper Owl". It was very cute and extremely helpful, especially during one or two confrontation. I kind of wish they let you name it, and I hope Elva got to keep it. Another favorite for me was the lovely designs for the various locations.
The game starts somewhat slow, but gets a bit faster during the rest of the game (sans the ending). The story made it pretty obvious that Henrik was bad news and up to something. (and he threw a key part at us like a shuriken before running away...) I do recommend this game, but I encourage you to play the demo first. Show less

A few years ago, the Sages activated a portal to a parallel dimension. Ambassadors from both worlds signed a Peace Treaty and the two worlds seemed to coincide with each other without incident, or so it seemed. Shortly after signing the Treaty, citizens of our world fell ill and rapidly aged. As the disease began to spread, Henrik arrived from the Cities to offer a cure in exchange for our children, to supposedly join his court. There's just one problem... the cure isn't working!
We get a mechanical Owl to help us in our quest to solve this otherworldly disease dilemma, but he is rather cute and doesn't seem to make irritating noises or constantly shifting in his little owl domain, so I'm okay with him tagging along. Besides, it's kind of like taking a canary into the mines right?
I felt that the Collector's Edition version was a wee bit unworthy in the bling department with only 1 uninteresting Collectible type, (Love Letters) and no other morph or special feature. There were, however, a ton of the Love Letters to find, usually, 3 per scene, and it does allow you to return to the scene to search for any letters you may have missed by selecting the Dove Icon associated with that particular scene. In my personal opinion, this Standard Edition version is the route to take, I just don't see anything exciting enough in the CE version to constitute twice the price!
Hidden Object Scenes are very creative, which is something I rarely say nowadays! Most of the HOP's are multi-layered and unfortunately, some of the scenes are repeated, which is a feature I really don't care for, it's just too boring and items are too easily spotted the second time around. There are Silhouetted Shape finds, Replacing items back into the scene, Multiples of the same object finds, and Interactive List finds available. You can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the HOP's.
The Mini Games are in abundance and most have 3-4 different steps, but none seem to be too difficult or too frustrating. Below is a list of brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rotate the petri dish to align the shaped puzzle pieces.
2) Move mechanical wasp antennae to correct positions.
3) Connect the dots to fill in all lines of the triangle.
4) Rotate sections to complete the image.
5) Repeat the sequence of tiles lighting up.
6) Place the symbol sections onto the correct store logo.
7) Swap tiles to complete the pattern.
8) Push colored orbs into their matching colored vortex,
9) Pull out all pins in the correct order.
10) Slide roses along the track to color-coded slots.
The Collector's Edition version has 14 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 8 Movie Videos, 15 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 7 re-playable Mini-Games, 14 Achievements to earn, 102 Collectible Love Letters that unlock a Hidden Puzzle (with an option to go back and find ones you missed) 7 Main Chapters (Finding The Truth) +Bonus Chapter (Unknown World) and a built-in Strategy Guide!
