I love the Fear for Sale games. Just the right amount of creepy and fun. The story line is entertaining. Who doesn't like killer dolls? I felt the pace of the game is great. I don't understand the complaint about loading to the next scene. It only takes a second...That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and will look for the standard game to buy it.
I recommend this game!

I counted 17 hops and 6 mini-hops in the main story and 7 hops and 3 mini-hops in the bonus. The killer dolls are so creepy. You hear their taunt frequently.
The story ties around Sarah Abrams from Pennsylvania. Her work life in the supernatural and in the bonus chapter that loops around, how it all started with her twin sister Harper.
It took 1.2 G to download this which is a Great amount of data. That could be why all of Elefun Games have the loading scene which doesn't take forever and this time they have pictures of Fear of Sale games to look at. I guess I would rather have the load scene than a short game.
All of Elefun games doesn't offer replays on hops or mini-game and never has, as far as I know. I would Love it if they did. They also make Witches Legacy, The Keeper of Antiques, Mayan Prophecies and The Forgotten Fairy Tales. The 15 Magazines you collect have these other Elefun game titles on the magazines that you collect. I would stop and try to read which past game it was because I love their games and am a fan.
You collect 20 eye symbols and they are usually on paper. I usually put my cursor on the eye and then read it because once you click it again on the paper it won't come back and you won't get that collectible. I found that out the hard way. Elefun has never let you retrive your collectible ever as far as I know. I hope that they would with every new game.
You find 31 Morphing Objects. In the Extras you won't find any of your collectibles. You only get that Achievement. You can download 18 music tracks.
I think you'll like it if your a hops lover and you can deal with the scene pause. I loved the story and hops and put up with the pause. Show less

fromAfter playing this game, I am now leery of my “My Lookalike Doll” from childhood. My doll twin sits on a shelf smiling at me, holding a bouquet of flowers wrapped with SPRIGS OF IVY! Yikes! Time to put that doll into permanent storage.

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME:
5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 42 Pages (A very long game)
OVERVIEW: Hi Emma Roberts! “Ring Around the Rosie” you go in search of a puppet master who is targeting members of your writing staff at “Fear for Sale.” After your office is invaded with dolls, you are caught holding a poison-tipped knife in front of the body of a coworker, Jack. Now the police deem you as the prime suspect in this case. Your investigation reveals that the dolls are stabbing their victims with a poison called Black Ivy, causing the victims to die within three days. Escaping as a prisoner chained to a bed in a hospital, you are now off to discover and confront the tortured mastermind behind these attacks.
OPINION: Despite some flaws, I highly recommend this game. This is one of the longest games I have played in some time. It has an excellent storyline centered around the sad, tormented childhood of the evildoer. I feel this game is better than the previous games within the series. The pace is excellent with plenty of movement in the game with a myriad of activities. There are no helpers nor gimmicks in this game, except for a sequence at the end of the game where a doll, Sarah, helps you twice. The puzzles are amazing in this game! Nevertheless, there are a few elements I dislike about this game. The graphics are dated. There is an extended pause between scenes accentuated with a pop-up copy of “Fear for Sale.” Although I found most of the puzzles creatively designed, I found most of the HOP scenes standard fare, with a preponderance of them being lists of items in junkpiles.
MECHANICS: There are four levels of play including a customized version. There are twelve (12) achievements. Collect twenty (20) eyes symbols, thirty-one (31) morphing objects, and fifteen (15) magazines. There are nine (9) wallpapers and three (3) screensavers. There are the usual concept art and music selections. You must locate all the eyes to unlock a secret room. However, I missed locating one eye in the game and could not return to the scene to retrieve it. EleFun, if you are going to tie searching for some collectible to an after-game activity, then allow the player to return to the scene(s) to collect the missing item(s).
BONUS CHAPTER: It is a sequel. Emma, our paranormal investigator, is out on a date with policeman Michael, reminiscing about how she developed her interest in the paranormal. Emma relives the day her sister disappeared. Enter an abandoned orphanage during a solar eclipse and relive an event from her teen years in 1997. Then fast forward to 2006 to the time she met James Hill, the editor of “Fear for Sale.” The chapter is a long one and well-worth the extra price. I love the activities in this sequel.
HOP SCENES: There are twenty-four (24) HOP scenes in the game (from what I could count). This includes the five (5) from the bonus chapter. There are mini-HOP scenes as well in which the player searches for small number of items or pieces of items. You can play a jigsaw puzzle in lieu of the scene for most scenes. I found many scenes rather boring. Most are lists of items with little interaction within the scene. There are many storybook scenes either requiring a search for items and then replacing them back within the scene; or, involve searching for items highlighted in the text. There are a few multiple-step ones and one rebus puzzle which I found creative. There is also one scene in the bonus chapter which I also found creative with the items to be located featured in three children’s drawings.
PUZZLES: WOW! There are forty-eight (48) puzzles within the game. This number includes eleven (11) from the bonus chapter. They are varied in style and difficulty. I found the puzzles BETTER after the demo. There are some fantastic, creatively-designed puzzles within this game. This developer has remastered some standard puzzles making them thematic, fitting well into the game. My only complaint is – if you are going to create so many puzzles – then why not allow for a replay of the puzzles?
SPOILERS: HERE ARE MY FAVORITE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO:
A. Logic puzzle. Using three (3) colors of paint, color sections of a spiral so that no color abuts another in the figure. 3X Progresses in difficulty.
B. Connection puzzle. Connect knots in a rope to light all the rope segments connected to that knot so that each knot is only visited once, and every segment of rope is lit.
C. Switch puzzle. Switch sides for an army of red and blue toy soldiers. Soldiers of different colors cannot stand near each other.
D. Connection puzzle. Connect honeycomb squares on an embroidery piece so that all squares are filled without retracing steps.
E. Physical puzzle. Move a doll up a wall. Rather neat puzzle in which you must choose buttons to have her jump, climb, or use a grappling hook to reach stone ledged until she reaches the top.
BONUS
G. Physical puzzle. Balance yourself while going over a hand-crafted bridge. Move arrows sideways to keep from falling
H. Maze puzzle. Move Emma and her sister through a maze in ten (10) steps. You must place the arrows and set up the route before pushing the “Start” button.

I love the game. It is pretty intense with this doll, who sabotages every effort, the music is good, the voiceovers are good, the story is interesting - i cannot find anything which is bad in this game. Maybe i have another game than the other posters here - or i just have another focus. I love games, which are interesting to play and this one for me is interesting!

I am really saddened by the poor reviews for this game! I enjoyed it all the way through. And the bonus game tells us Emma's "origin story." The main game was fun and creepy, with an interesting tale to tell. I like Emma's spunk and strength, and I hope the developers continue her story.

He found a ritual (what else?) to extract the souls from people and enliven his puppets with them. Emma Roberts shall be the last in his collection, the icing on the cake so to speak.
This game leads us directly into the core of Fear for Sale, namely into the editorial office of the magazine. The editors James and Rosemary Hill including the whole staff are under attack from cunning, poisonous puppets. The adventure has its eerie and thrilling moments, especially due the outstanding sound effects. We hear the unpredictable, creepy dolls sneering and singing at the most unexpected moments. Arkhipov partly used real children's voices for the dolls, and the voices overs are generally excellent.
HOPs are varied, multi-layered and contain as always lots of information about the background story; thus read the notes. A nice idea is a mini HOP which starts in darkness, we pick items which obscure light sources, and it gets brighter and brighter. Another HOP shows us runes to click on, but they appear only for a short time. There is one on a desk, and we search items alternately on the desk and on computer screen. Elefun still invents greatly entertaining HOPs which are mostly themed and ingeniously integrated into the story line.
Puzzles seem more challenging than they used to be; for two of them I had around half an hour, without consulting the Guide.
The only or at least the biggest let-down of this game is the ridiculous Sarah doll, a real monstrosity. She has a leading role, we often see her in close up - but what an eyesore >_< I bet she once looked less like a bad cartoon ... and then the project manager walked in and exclaimed: “No, no, make BIG eyes with lots of make-up and an OVERSIZED head! and all the dolls must have glowing, neon blue eyes! I know what customers want.” Bleh. I nearly deducted one star due Sarah.
The end is a romantic surprise. The ever aloof Emma Roberts, currently hospitalized, accepts a date with handsome detective Michael Evans. Not really an end, it's a beginning ;)
EXTRAS:
- Strategy Guide with 42 pages (main game 28, bonus chapter 10)
- The main game contains 18 puzzles and 17 HOPs, bonus chapter 7 puzzles and 5 HOPs; none of them can be played again.
- 9 Wallpapers, 3 Screensavers, Concept Art with 9 black and white sketches.
- Find 31 morphing objects, one per scene, for an achievement.
- Collectibles are 15 Fear for Sale magazines. A pity we never can see them properly, they just disappear when clicked. Would have been a great opportunity to present the former games with one picture and a headline.
- Find 20 eye symbols on notes, papers - and be on the lookout! They are even in mini games. But they disappear when not picked up in time, and there is no going back to look for missing eyes. The eyes unlock 5 mini puzzles, adding up to pictures of the Sarah doll, detective Michael Evans, Kevin Wright, Christian Mitchell, Elsa and Harper at the orphanage and kind of a summary of the case.
- 5 achievements, 7 bogus awards for playing.
- 18 magically brilliant, addicting soundtracks - from uncanny ambient to magnific piano tunes, dramatic film music or a spooky puppets' choir. Listen how the ingeniously implemented highway traffic races through Between the Worlds. There are two bonus tracks, Puppets Waltz and Eenie Meenie, which are not in the game but for me two of the best.
The BONUS CHAPTER includes in 9 scenes and picks up right where the main chapter ends. Emma and Michael have coffee in the hospital cafeteria, and he asks her how she became a paranormal journalist. “That's a long story”, sighs Emma and starts to tell. Ten years ago, as teenager, she played with her twin sister and Elsa in an abandoned orphanage. We, as young Emma, witness the day again on that our sister Harper disappeared without a trace ...
It's a beautiful, personal addition to the main chapter which already revolves around Emma and her work. There is a second happy end, if also a bit constructed. What will Emma do now, as she has found out about her sister? Will she continue her research on paranormal cases? Will she marry Michael and found a family?
We never will learn, because this is already the last issue of Fear for Sale. A worthy conclusion of the series, I guess. We definitely wish Emma all the best and regret to say good bye. We probably will even miss the loading windows, sniffle ;_; Show less

Overall, this was a solid installment in the Fear for Sale series from Elefun Games. This game is not perfect, nor is it better than past games in this series, but Tiny Terrors does provide a satisfactory amount of entertainment because it has a unique storyline that is different than other horror lite games about dolls. Elefun still delivers on their fantastic, clean, and crisp graphics throughout the game, and they even add in amusing clickables in case you are like me and want to explore every inch of the screen. The main negative for me about this game is the lack of difficulty in all of the puzzles. I never skipped a single puzzle because I finished most of them in under 2 minutes with an occasional puzzle that took me around 5 minutes to solve. My true rating is a 3.5, but I rounded it up to 4 stars for the creative storyline and breathtaking graphics and soundtrack. As usual with my style of reviews, I provide a list of positives and negatives about the game. Please note that reviews are subjective, so my positives may be another player’s negatives.
Pros:
- The Graphics and Audio create an ominous atmosphere with a hint of suspense for what is to come
- The storyline is mostly original, is explained throughout the game, and is easy to understand
- The cute dolls carrying knives creates a chilling contrast between cuteness and blood thirsty toys
- The pace is solid throughout, it slows down a tiny bit when Emma is fixing the boat at the old train/gas station
- Emma herself has voiceover for her dialogue which is an extra detail that many games lack currently
Cons:
- Too many HOS in my opinion, but this may appeal to players who prefer more HOS
- HOS scenes are recycled which shows a lack of creativity or laziness to create a fresh new scene.
- HOS are not varied - most of them are finding highlighted words in a narrative that sometimes has voiceover
- Puzzles and HOS are very easy, but this may appeal to more beginner and intermediate players
