This is the most unique adventure packed TM game I have ever played! You play as miniature elf like creatures who have to make it across the house to rescue one of their own in the backyard's garden. The trip is arduous as the owners of the house have never invested in a vacuum or other cleaning supplies and apparently they have clumsy butter-fingers as they have dropped everything onto the carpet ...Show more

This is the most unique adventure packed TM game I have ever played! You play as miniature elf like creatures who have to make it across the house to rescue one of their own in the backyard's garden. The trip is arduous as the owners of the house have never invested in a vacuum or other cleaning supplies and apparently they have clumsy butter-fingers as they have dropped everything onto the carpet and are too lazy to pick it up! So it's up the our heroic elves to use their MacGyver like skills to overcome this dangerous path that is liter with cables, stacking blocks, toys, cell phones, car keys over mounds and mounds of dirty ripped up carpets.

There are three modes of play including a relaxed version, plenty of power-ups, a whimsical soundtrack, and lots of humor along the way. I'm finding this game to be enjoyable. Highly recommend... Show less

Don't be put off by the first couple of levels persevere with it. At first I thought just another pick up and build tm but there is a twist with this. You need to distract giants, extinguish fires, turn the volume down or the level will be finished. I found this different and very challenging. I got this figuring I made a mistake, and was not going to like another "run around on paths building, destroying, and doing so much I ran out of time, game. I ended up enjoying everything about it. It is nice to see a "run around path game" that is large, detailed, and draws you into a decent storyline. Only con, is that my mouse clicking arm hurts, from trying to beat just one more level!

I recommend this game!

One review says this game is boring - sorry I disagree. There are more things to do other than gather materials. You have to beat back roaches, build things, and figure out how to move forward by solving a puzzle (like how to use items).
I never pay attention to the stories so can't really address that. I simply enjoyed this game very much. Just give it a few levels. Try to pick-up everything ...Show more

Turns out there's an entire city living between the fibers of my carpet (I will deny the existence of those giant fleas, however!) When one of their own gets swept away (literally) Woolly and Curlytop hitch a ride on Rocco the mouse and head top-side for a dangerous rescue mission. You know things are gonna be tough when a simple Lego brick become a giant hurdle to cross, but that's just how it is when you're the size of a pencil tip!

You can play in a Relaxed, Normal or Hard difficulty mode, and there are 45 Main Levels +10 CE Bonus Levels that promise to be quite lengthy. The Collector's Edition version also has 6 Wallpapers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 5 Character Bios, 12 Trophy Achievements to earn and a built-in Strategy Guide. Normally, I'm all about waiting for the Standard Edition version, but in this case, you may want to consider the CE version. This isn't an easy-breezy Time Management game, you may be teeny-tiny, but there are huge hurdles to overcome in Rug Tales and if you get it wrong, this game isn't very forgiving. (with the exception of the Relaxed, untimed mode) I had to replay nearly every level, so you're probably going to need that built-in Strategy Guide at some point, and probably sooner than you think.

I absolutely loved the imagination and thought gamingo put into the storyline and tasks at hand. Collecting pencil nubs for wood, carpet fibers for wool, cacti berries for food, having to overcome huge gaps because there's a tear in the rug or wires laying across the pathway. Even Rocco the mouse is useful because he's the only one strong enough to be able to push a huge toy out of the way, which in this case is actually just a small 1" plastic toy lol.

Even though there are still TM familiar tasks and features of building bridges, collecting resources, repairing, constructing or upgrading buildings, etc. those familiar tasks are still unusual because they are from the perspective of being microscopic. So small in fact, that you have to chase away pesky Fleas that are huge!

After a few levels. a new feature is added, at least it's a feature I haven't seen used before. You may have to send one of the boys several times to click on a Noise-canceling device or put out small Fires before the Meter fills. If the Meter fills completely you will fail the level! (I'm assuming this only applies to the Normal and Hard difficulty modes)

After each level, you can purchase Upgrades with the Stars you earn. There are only a few Upgrade Categories, but each upgrade gives you a Larger Percentage (5%, 10%) to Speed up Woollys working pace, Speed up Woolly's Fighting abilities, Speed up Curlytop's Movements or Work Speed, or Speed up the process of Building Construction or Upgrades. A new cute story. I like the ability to choose difficulty levels and it does get rather challenging or simply relax and enjoy. My one complaint is a complaint I have of many TM games, it'd be nice to be able to skip dialogue/story especially if you've played before. Luckily the dialogue in this game is not too long.

I recommend this game!

I bought this game I think in 2018, maybe it was the CE version so I'm a little confused why this regular version is coming out just now. I thought the game was fun and it took me a while to figure out all that I was supposed to be doing, ran out of time many times before I figured it out too which I'm not used to doing (running out of time). There are a few levels, not many, maybe five, out of the forty five levels, which are timed, even in relaxed, untimed mode. While I found the game play exciting and lots of fun, it was also stressful and extremely challenging at times, due to the several timed levels. The timed levels I played maybe six or seven times before I could get through them, and then, just by the skin of my teeth. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I'd have known that relaxed, untimed mode did not mean relaxed or untimed at all and hopefully the game developers will correct that in any future sequels. Show less
