Labyrinths of the World is back with Lost Island the ninth game in the Labyrinths series. This has been a series that is somewhat on and off for me but fortunately, to start 2019, this is one of the better games. In Lost Island Margaret who is fairly new at this seeker business will have to go it alone without her brother and fellow Seeker Simon has gone missing. Not only is Simon missing Earth is facing cataclysmic disaster from Dietrich who has managed to escape from a Seeker prison. Yes folks this is another game with yet another madman bent on destruction and control but in spite of the “we’ve been there, done that” storyline it is an excellent game with some great HOS and puzzles.
The HOS in the game are very creative and well-integrated into the storyline as are the overabundant puzzles. Lately I’ve been on a rant about far too many puzzles in HOPA games and even though Lost Island has an almost two to one ratio between HOS and puzzles I found that this game “worked”. Recently it seems that puzzles have been slapped into a game by developers in order to stretch the game when in reality they have, at least for me, taken the fun out of playing. However, in Lost Island the HOS and puzzles worked together to create an excellent game and with the puzzles fitting seamlessly into the storyline and gameplay.
While other developers seem to be cutting down on game size, Domini always creates long games and Lost Island is no exception. There is no skimping on the content or the extras with this developer and if you love the series then Lost Island is a game you will most likely enjoy.
As is the case with most games now there is a Custom Mode of gameplay in Lost Island. It is another of my pet peeves that if a developer offers a Custom Mode then it should be FULLY customizable otherwise the gamer can select one of the other modes. It rather irritates me that developers set the hint and skip bottom time limit for us. If a game is customizable then the hint and skip ranges should begin at “0” seconds rather than “15” seconds. Since I tend to be rather impatient I hate to wander aimlessly for the hint meter to reset when I need a hint to move forward. PLEASE developers allow the gamers to select their own hint and skip times in the Custom Mode of gameplay.
The HOS in the game are excellent and very well-designed and because I don’t want to spoil your fun I will simply say that Lost Island has some of the best HOS that I have seen in a long time. Even though I dislike having far too many puzzles in a game, I really enjoyed those in Lost Island. This developer offers an option to select between the “Easy” and “Hard” setting for playing most puzzles. If you select the hard setting at the beginning of the game you still have to option to change it for each puzzle you play. One of my favorite puzzles was early in the game where we had to align crystals with their matching positions. The puzzle seemed to set the tone of the game and I found myself thoroughly enjoying each one I encountered.
Thank you BFG and Domini for bringing us a great new Labyrinths of the World game. Lost Island is one of the best HOPA games I have played in quite some time. I’ve been looking forward to this game since playing the beta, and the final game does not disappoint. This is a beautiful game with a good storyline and a lot of entertainment value. Even though Labyrinths of the World Lost Island is a perfect game for me, please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

Aside from some of the MCF games, this game is one of the best I have played. The graphics are excellent and it is challenging enough to have fun. It's also one of the longest, so there were many hours of entertainment.

Domino Games have created a stellar addition to their 9th installment of their popular series Labyrinths of the World. It doesn't surprise me that this release would receive the Editor's game choice too.
The Earth’s crust has developed a crack, which leads to a series of disastrous cataclysmic events all around the world. This also coincides with the strange disappearance of your brother, a member of the Seekers! With stakes rising and time running out, you are sent on the Seekers mission of a lifetime in Labyrinths of the World 9: Lost Island!
Dietrich, the villain in the story has orchestrated a plan to travel throughout the universe reeking devastation along the way with intentions of annihilating Earth and it's up to you Margaret to stop him!
Based on the synopsis, Labyrinths of the World: Lost Island might sound just another typical “save the world” fantasy-themed game but this isn't the scenario for this game. Domini Games’ science fiction and fantasy hybrid spin on this seemingly-cliché storyline is actually incredibly effective and engaging. The unfolding of the storyline in Lost Island is unpredictable and the excellent and consistent pacing of the game helps captivate player's of every level from beginning to end.
A strong storyline alone would not have sufficed if the gameplay was lackluster. Fortunately, Labyrinths of the World: Lost Island’s gameplay is equally solid. The creativity showcased in the gameplay is undeniable. Yes, there is still an abundance of weirdly-shaped locks, magical potions and whatnot, but there is plenty of less conventional tasks to complete as well. The hidden object scenes and the puzzles are fun and imaginative, which is what I have come to expect from this unique series.
I am definitely a fan of Domini Games and to my surprise, the developer has really raised the bar with Labyrinths of the World: Lost Island. The visual quality is simply breathtaking and the bright fluorescent colors play as a strength for the game rather than a distraction – the Labyrinths of the World franchise has never looked more stunning IMHO. Labyrinths of the World: Lost Island is a relatively long game too. The main game took me five and a half hours to complete and the bonus chapter added another hour (more gameplay time for your money)!!! So I decided to go with the Collector’s Edition, which is packed with extras as usual; a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, videos, repayable hidden object scenes, re-playable puzzles, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, and zoo creatures to purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of gameplay in the latest edition to the series. I hope fans of this series feel the same way as I do and I highly recommend this one. Cheers!
In this wonderful series:
•Labyrinths of the World: Shattered Soul
•Labyrinths of the World: Forbidden Muse
•Labyrinths of the World: Changing the Past
•Labyrinths of the World: Stonehenge Legend
•Labyrinths of the World: Secrets of Easter Island
•Labyrinths of the World: The Devil's Tower
•Labyrinths of the World: A Dangerous Game
•Labyrinths of the World: When Worlds Collide

The length of the game for me is just right to keep me entertained but not bored. Graphics are beautiful.. I hate it when all the scenes are dull and grey looking which is definitely not the case. I did wonder why all the other characters in the game are a bit useless when it comes to defending themselves against the villian but I guess that is the point of the game. When Earth's crust began cracking and causing cataclysmic events to occur worldwide, the Seeker's Order organized a special expedition to seek answers. (why wasn't I included in this special Seekers Expedition?) Your brother Simon (who I thought was my sis?) stumbled onto something really big but disappeared shortly afterward and the Order has asked you to find Simon (why does a stranger have to tell me my brother is mia? Oh I know, it's because I wasn't in the loop for this "special" Seeker, exclusive, finer things club) and capture the thief who escaped the Seekers Prison and may be responsible for all the dastardly deeds.
It's a good thing my brother left me a note in case he gets lost (good thing I knew where to find it at HIS house no less) with instructions to use a special amulet that will lead me to his exact location! (why didn't the exclusive finer things club just use it?) As luck would have it, it's a one-and-done kinda gadget. Wait, what? First of all, let's hope he's truly "lost" because this gadget looks expensive. Is he actually "lost" just because I don't know where he is? He's probably going to get really mad when I show up with his really expensive lost-brother finder if he's not actually lost. Isn't this gadget just a glorified GPS locator that I could've downloaded the app on my phone? Secondly, if I can only use it once, how do we get back? What do I do with it afterward? Do I pitch it when I arrive? Do I Seek a recycling bin? Do I donate it to the Underwater World Goodwill? Do I hang onto it just in case he's wrong about the one-and-done scenario? I'd better start Seeking now. (hmm, now, do I choose the Compass, GPS or gyroscope? Apparently, I'm a Seeker with commitment issues.
Once again Domini Games has done a fantastic job with some amazing graphic detail (although still a little heavy on the neons) One thing's for certain, Fantasy-themed games are their wheelhouse because they have such skilled graphic designers to help you envision the fantasy worlds, the Labyrinths of the World worlds. Domini never skimps on quality or quantity with a 7 Chapter strong game with a Bonus Chapter in the CE version that is nearly as long, with a new mission, a new world, a new prisoner, and a new theft! In the CE version, there are Hidden Tokens in every scene that allow you to purchase 15 different fantasy Zoo Creatures, and you will find Collectible Cards from each world you visit, and there are Wanted Posters scattered throughout the worlds. I found the abundance of collectibles and BC to be well worth the extra price so if possible I highly recommend the CE version!
The Hidden Object Scenes were far to easy in my opinion and had little to no challenge whatsoever. They are varied with Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, and Multiples of the Same Object Finds. I really liked the HOP where you had to select ropes to align stained glass panels to search for objects but it too was way too easy and would have been amazing if it were at least a tad bit more challenging. There is an alternate Match 3 game available but it's an extremely easy M3 game that doesn't even allow you to make fast, back-to-back matches because you have to wait for the previous move's tokens to finish dropping which is a super annoying feature to me. FYI: if you want to earn all achievements, you must play the alternate Match 3 game instead of a HOP at least once.
The Mini-Games are decent but they are basically the same ole, same ole just with a different theme. As with most Domini Games you can choose between Easy or Hard difficulty modes. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter throughout the game:
1-Use arrows and rotation buttons to align colored spheres onto their matching tokens.
2-Use directional arrows to move rows to allow colored spheres to drop onto their color-coded pedestals.
3-Move crystals to the center at the same time.
4-Move bars to align the correct number of starfish to each column as indicated.
5-Guide the fish token to its matching slot by dragging a token to an empty slot.
6-Color the segments so that adjacent segments are a different color.
7-Move the fish to the center along the circles and lines using directional arrows without making contact with another fish.
8-Align tiles according to the clues shown.
9-Navigate a maze by finding and using items to overcome obstacles.
The Collector's Edition version has 20 Concept Art pictures, 17 Wallpapers (why is the icon for wallpapers a rug on the floor?) 5 Music Soundtracks, 33 Movie Video Cutscenes, 20 re-playable Mini-Games, 18 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 33 Achievements to earn, 15 Wanted Poster Articles, 21 Collectible Cards (7 cards from 3 Worlds) 69 Collectible Tokens (used to purchase Zoo Creatures in the Greenhouse) 15 Zoo Creatures to purchase with Tokens, 7 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

Graphics were okay, but nothing to really write home about. The sound was excellent, including the music and voice overs. Colors were bright which was a plus for a change and the effects went along with the action in the scene.
I did enjoy the level of challenge even though there were a lot of mini games. It seems like the out numbered the hidden objects by a lot. I actually completed most of them. I played in the custom mode and had easy for the mini games which I'm sure helped in this quest. Hidden objects were fun and a little on the easy side also.
The story was pretty much the same thing. Save the world, save your brother destroy the tyrant. Sound familiar? it should.
Although I'm not buying this game, I do recommend it if you like this genre. It's just not for me. Show less

The music is good, the graphics too colourful as usual but sometimes with interesting decorations.
At mid-game though , activities began to become more routine and fillers set in less interesting settings, boredom slowly became to kick in , i also noticed 2 mini-games with questionable playability.
In the end i was glad it was over; not a bad game but i really don't understand the 5 stars rating.
