I agree this is an old style HOG game... so am I. I don't care about the "bling" with the CE'S... don't want to search for morphs or "collectibles". I play for the fun of it not for "achievements". Give me more SE's like this one. I'll buy 'em every time.

Yes, it is "old school" but it is fun. I will not go into a lot of detail as Pennmom has done a great job of explaining what the game is about. I will say that it has a jump map and the hint button works great....I tried it just to make sure. The story line has me reeled in hook, line, and sinker. This game is what HOG's used to be. First, the trial says it's a sample, which for some reason BFG's Game Manager software translates in this case to 90 minutes; so I won't blame the devs or change my score for completing the trial based on time.

I have most of the games Urchin made: I like the clear graphics, I like that the HO scenes are not junk piles with either so many items being too small to be identified, I like that we don't revisit the same scenes over and over, and I like that the mini-games are slightly but not overly challenging: there are other games where you either MUST refer to the strategy guide to solve or that you must skip altogether because it's almost impossible to figure out the 63 moves it takes to move forward.

Despite the fact that the "tutorial" feature was "checked on" but I didn't get any, I enjoyed the sample and will be buying OUTLAWS CORWIN's TREASURE. Show less

Wonderful, fun relaxing game. Mildly snarky villain, achievable goals, minigames that are mildly challenging. If I take too long, it asks if I want to skip.You betcha! This makes a nice change from thegames that want you on your toes every second. some days I want that, and some days I just want to leave reality behind. I love this game.

I enjoyed playing this game and it makes a change to play a game based on Westerns rather than all the general style hidden object games

I quite enjoyed this 'simpler' game. The storyline was good, the music was fine, and the voices were good also.

It IS short, but still a lot of fun to play!

I have been playing Hidden Object games since they first came out. Back then they didn't have much of a plot, if any, they were just straight HOG's (hidden object games) with unrealistic sized objects, poor graphics, and slow mechanics. HOG's evolved into HOPA's (hidden object puzzle adventures) they added amazing adventure storylines and the graphics kept getting better and better as computers ...Show more

I have been playing Hidden Object games since they first came out. Back then they didn't have much of a plot, if any, they were just straight HOG's (hidden object games) with unrealistic sized objects, poor graphics, and slow mechanics. HOG's evolved into HOPA's (hidden object puzzle adventures) they added amazing adventure storylines and the graphics kept getting better and better as computers became more powerful. We HOPA fans couldn't get enough and developers were struggling to keep up with the demand, which gave birth to even more developers wanting to hop on the bandwagon. Eventually, these developers became lazy, they began cutting corners and copying and pasting graphics and other key features from one game to the next. They didn't think fans would notice or care, to be honest, we didn't notice at first, and developers kept spewing out several games per month, living high on the hog.

As the developers began losing their creative imagination, I started to realize that these smaller developers still had heart, they still cared about quality, they still cared about the players, they still valued our opinions because they wanted to make the next game even better. When the demo for Outlaws ends, you'll notice something unique, they ask for your feedback!

Now I'm not saying this game has incredible graphics because it doesn't, perhaps the old school graphics are intentional to give it a retro vibe, perhaps it's because smaller devs don't have unlimited funds at their disposal, like the big guys who don't really care, do. I'm not even claiming that this game has unique features, amazing hidden object scenes and cutting-edge mini-games, and puzzles because that's also not the case.

The graphics aren't bad, they are just plain and basic, the hidden object scenes are typical Listed Item and Silhouetted Shape Finds, really no different than any other HO scene. The mini-games are easily solved, but they are enjoyable enough. There are no thrills, no bling, no morphs, no collectibles. Although the acting is a bit "stiff" the storyline is different and the demo did its job, it held my attention, and left me with questions I wanted to be answered, it left me curious enough to use a PCC (punch card coupon) to continue my adventure. Most of all, this game has a heart and a soul, created by developers who really do seem to care. These are the same devs who created one of my favorite Standard Edition game series, Greed (also very interesting plots)

You play the role of William, a well-known Historian who is lured to an abandoned Town by a "businessman" who wishes to partner with you to find an elusive Mayan Artifact with incredible powers. Your wife Catherine, also a historian tags along, only to find out that it's a trap and John Adkins is a very shady businessman.

Most gamers will probably fail to see this as anything but old school and give up on it quickly. I liked the story, and sometimes old school is cool. It's totally worthy of my valued PCC's Show less

This game reminded me of another game I have : Antique's Mysteries : The Secrets of Howard's Mansion. It's a scavenger type game, interactive pieces you collect and use. I enjoyed the game, it was relaxing.
