King Arthur reigns in Camelot, but the time of peace is at its end. Saxon invaders are marching across the land, led by a king who dreams of conquering the world. Determined to fight back and protect the kingdom he loves, Arthur puts out a call for knights. Many brave men answer the call, including a young man named Lancelot whose strange past promises him a great destiny. THEY HAVE RAISED THE BAR WITH RAMPED-UP GRAPHICS AND A TIMED MODE...but is it enough?

fromThese devs are clearly "listening" so kudos for making changes (especially the timed mode) but I play all of your games and know exactly which board layout is next, how to beat those levels, even when & how to get rid of spiders, but baby steps are okay 2

The graphics have notably stepped up a couple of notches since the first King Arthur episode, and they have finally added a Timed Mode option! King Arthur: Knights of the Round Table has it all, an excellent story, amazing graphics, challenging obstacles, smooth Match 3 mechanics, interesting bonus power-up tools, clever builder aspects required to progress, and obtainable goals, but is it enough? The answer is yes and no...If you have only played one or two games by this developer this will be a 5-Star game and certainly worthy of a purchase, however, those of us who have purchased or played several e-FunSoft games, you will definitely recognize the all too familiar board layouts, because they are the same board layouts in every Match 3 game by this developer!
This is a swap type, Match 3 game that requires you swap two adjacent elements to create a group of at least three tiles. You can opt to play in a Relaxed, untimed mode and there is a High Scores Leaderboard. The goal of each level is to make matches over all of the Brown filled-in Cells as well as matching a specified number of specified Tiles that are shown at the top of the screen. Some levels also require you to collect Magic Spheres by dropping them to the bottom of the board. Some tiles Morph inside of a Bubble which allows you to pop the bubble when the jewel inside morphs to the desired jewel. I'm not sure why the morphing bubble tiles appear but I would suspect it's a reward for making a large match?
You don't earn Power-ups for making Large Matches, however, every match you make fills the Energy Orb, the larger the matches are, the faster it will charge. The good thing about this feature is that any of the power-ups can be used and refilled on any level, unlike some games where you have to wait until a level comes along that has a particular bonus tile to refill that power-up. The Hammer removes a single tile or chain, the Orb will absorb a small group of tiles or chains, the King's Shield collects all tiles of the same kind, the Lightning Staff clears an entire Horizontal Line including chained tiles, the Legendary Sword clears an entire Vertical line including chains, and Explosives clear a large group of tiles and any chains on them.
There are the normal obstructions as found in most Match 3 games of Chained tiles, Double Chained tiles, Spiders that spin webs to lock tiles if you don't make matches under them quickly enough, but nothing unusual or different than most Match 3 games, and certainly nothing different than other Match 3 games by this developer. You can purchase upgrades to rebuild the city after gathering enough resources and you must purchase all upgrades to complete the chapter and open up the next Chapter's levels.
I really enjoy this type of Match 3 game, it's challenging and it's fun to play. Unfortunately, I have purchased a couple of M3 games by this dev only to discover that the second game was exactly the same as the first game. If they would just change the match 3 board layouts, I would give this game and following games 5 stars AND would start purchasing them again!

This is a cute game - i don't know how it is to play it in "timed" mode, luckily there is also the relaxed mode. What i don't like at all is "the story line" - it is good for nothing and only delaying the game. Instead of the story, i would have loved to have HO-scenes to solve. And what i don't like at all: you can buy items, but there are already so many items on the board when you start the game, it doesn't give you a good feeling as it does in other games, where the board in the beginning is empty and you fill it with houses etc - and as the board is already so crowded, you can't even really detect what you have bought... this is really a downfall of this game... and it is such an unnecessary frustration. It might be another game like others, but the King and others look like their voices which are rich and full. I enjoy these types of games since it's relaxing enough and not so hard I feel stressed.

I must agree with the 'top reviewer's comments on getting the same game again. I too am glad to see the addition of a 'timed' mode, but I am getting very sick of getting games that are too much the same and often exactly cloned as previous offerings. This is becoming more and more prevalent with developers.

It is a good game! If you don't own others you are actually lucky because you get the improved first up. But only this addition of a timed option to add any novelty sets it apart from the others I already own to make me buy it. Show less

This is better than the first King Author but still a no buy for me.
The game visually is very small and no way to adjust any bigger. The story is way too long and takes up too much time, you an skip it but I do not need this much story.
Colors in the game are good and music is good.

The actual match 3 game play is a little sluggish and the same old swap tiles. No real challenge.
The building of Camelot is the goal and the whole map of Camelot is also very small and tiny [think way smaller than ants].
This is a no buy for me.

Too small too busy is the best I can say about this game. I have only played the demo and I can clearly see this is one of those games where some levels will take 10+ minutes and create eye strain. The tiles are small. Some look a lot alike. This is simply a reject for me. There are too many really good match 3 games available to waste money on this one.
I don't recommend this game.
